It looks like I was the first to receive and I think it'll be a great start to the gallery... I was sent beautiful things by BoyceMachine yesterday, thanks so much!  ;D

Ok, so here is a general overview of everything I received.

Left over Cath Kidston fabrics.
Adorable bird brooch.
nica sugar skull keyring.
Red polka dot bag. The bag is amazing, especially since Chris said she'd never made anything like it before.
Assorted button necklace.

And detail pictures now.

The button necklace is gorgeous and the colours are perfect. I couldn't get a picture that really showed how lovely the colours are in real life, they're much more vibrant.

The embroidery of the skull is so detailed and the brooch is adorable.

And the cute cupcake card, and Cath Kidston fabric and some ribbon. I love Cath Kidston products, but have never owned any of the fabric, so I was so excited to receive that!

Thank you so much BoyceMachine, this package was amazing and I love each and every thing so much. I can only hope you like what I send you now...  :)

Yay! Someone received! I should be sending out tomorrow and I think my package is at home waiting for me! I got to work early so I could come home early and see it.

I absolutely ADORE that button necklace. How did you make it Boyce Machine? And that fabric is way too awesome. I've never heard of Cath Kidson, now I must go stalk and find fabric.

And that bag...way great for never doing anything like that before. Kudos!

I love that red bag! So great - especially for a first time project! And the button necklace is so creative - I would never think of something like that.

I'm working on my swap package, but I'm leaving on a trip for a week so I probably won't send until the send date. I'm taking some projects to work on during my trip though!

Great package, and very creative use of the letters.

For the necklace I just fed two pieces of jewellery wire through the buttons and inbetween buttons I twisted it.   was so very tempted to make one for myself...and my mum is coming over on Friday 'cos she wants me to make her one in colours that'll suit what she's wearing to a wedding in 2 weeks.   ::)

I snapped the needle in my machine making the bag too...I ended up sewing to close to the plastic handle and was stuck 'til I could get out an buy a new one.   ;D

Cath Kidston is def one to be investigated...I LOVE her stuff too.

Isn't it nice that your partner is a fabric hoarder?  Just saying ;)

Post by: YumJello01 on July 13, 2010 04:19:42 PM
I might have spoiled you a LITTLE bit with all the supplies, but seriously, I had to get rid of some of it!!!  There's so much fabric, and John gets mad at me every time I bring some new stuff home... :(

That leather came to me the day I was packing everything up at work, and I thought it was so perfect for you!  It's hair on hide, I think there's enough for you to experiment sewing with it (that's also why I included the little leather samples for you) before you turn it into something fab!

I found the tutorial for that ribbon organizer here (thanks Martha Stewart!):
http://www.marthastewart.com/good-things/ribbon-organizer
Without knowing how much of what kind of ribbon you had, I did the best I could!  I used 3/8" grommets, but for anyone thinking about doing it, I suggest either 1/4" grommets (which I didn't know existed until after I finished) to fit more on the side, or 1/2" grommets to maybe fit two ribbons into one hole?

I am so glad you like everything!  I had such a great time with this swap!

PurplePaisley, just post a few more times (so you have more than 15 posts)
and you'll be able to join
us the next round (prob. October-ish).
Nice to "meet" you!

wow!! :o

I don't usually get anxious, but I have a bit of swap anxiety after seeing the gallery so far....!

don't worry -- these pkgs are definitely the *extreme* version of the swap  :)
it's meant to be low-stress so you can let your creativity flow with the matching
of the letters & projects....just 3 smalls is your min. requirement,
and your partner will be happy with whatever you make....if it's something you would
be happy to receive, your partner will feel the same way!  (I firmly believe that~)
craft on!!

:o ;D :o ;D :o ;D OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Uhillb is going to be my swap partner for each and every swap that I do from here on out!  I am keeping her forever!!!!!!!  I just received my swap package from her, and I had to pick my jaw up from the floor.  Holy cannoli!  I am unable to post photos, but I am going to give a description of everything she sent, and then I'll PM her and she can post the photos.  Get ready to read!   ;D  Here goes:

B-a sliding Bookshelf, painted to look like a pencil!
A-Assorted stationery (She used letter stickers, and the most beautiful and whimsical and colorful stickers to make these herself!  And, she made 'thank you' cards, 'teacher' cards, 'Craftster' cards, cupcake and frog cards, etc.....)
A-Amazing Miss Barbara-little blocks painted in blue, yellow, and red with a letter of my name on each to spell out Miss Barbara!  (I am a preschool teacher, and that is what the students call me, as well as my screen name for Craftster.)
A-Awesome comma lesson-This item by itself would have been more than enough!  It is a cross stitch of something I had seen on Craftster when I first joined, that says:  "Let's eat, children.  Let's eat children!  COMMAS SAVE LIVES"  I'm a teacher who has an issue with spelling, grammatical mistakes, so this just cracked me up when I saw it....
R-Rubber ducky soaps-THREE of them!  Three different rubber duckies, each sitting in his/her own blue soap "boat"!
R-Roll for hooks-I am an avid crocheter, and I had received a roll for my hooks from another swap, but unfortunately, it was made way too big to hold crochet hooks.  I had asked for another one, and uhillb knitted me one, in my favorite combo of colors!!!!!!!
AND THE HUGE-for letters A & B b/c it's so big....A Box that is painted and carved to look like a Block!  It is sooooo big!

As if ALL THAT weren't enough, she sent a TON of extras too:  postcards, cupcake liners that say 'Baked just for you', a cupcake shaped journal, letter 'b' stationery, two 'See and Learn' DVDs, a booklet of cupcake/candy stickers, orange cupcake tissues, an ice cream stamp, teacher related buttons, apple buttons, a roll of cupcake ribbon, ladybug pushpins, ladybug buttons, and 'crocheted by' labels!

Uhillb, you are the BEST!  Thank you so very, very, very, very, very much!

Does anyone else ever fantasize about "winning a shopping spree" through these amazing Craftster galleries?  Oh, just me?  :P  I love the pencil bookshelf so much,  I have serious envy over the commas save lives piece, and the yarn bowl is just ingenious.  Okay, I'll stop gushing now.

Hehe I think about shopping in the galleries all the time  :D I love doing wood projects..it's one of my favorite things.

I too love my Mario star! He will have a special place on my Christmas tree in the winter! But as of right now the boy hung him on the doorknob of the "game" cabinet. He is right at home  :D

I uploaded my pictures to the Kroger by my house so I can pick them up tonight to put in my picture frames, while i'm shopping with my Green Alien tote  ;D

You rock Miss Barbara! I had so much fun PMing and swapping with you.

So...when is round 5? lol

Here are my super-spoilage swap goodies from Quaggy!

K = Owl keychain (prominently featuring my favorite color blue and I love owls)

A = Artistically decorated letter K, perfect for my craft...er, guest room :)

R = Red retro kitchen towel, so cute and I love the cherry applique using the yo-yos and buttons

E = "Empty" box to ship all of my extras in! Seriously, it is decorated with paint and paint chips in blue (of course) and filled with an assortment of crafty goodies and candies to spell out my name. My husband claimed majority shares of the Rolos and Now n' Laters :)

N = New monkey pillow for Liam (my 2.5-year-old)! My son loves all things monkey. Plus, I was in a Mommy/Toddler swap last year and got a mini-blankie for my son that uses some of this very same fabric. He saw it, squealed, "monkeys!" and hugged it. Big hit Quaggy! Oh, and one side has a monkey-head silhouette made from chalkboard fabric.

You should all petition to get Quaggy in the next round :) I hope she likes my package half as much as I like mine!

Spoiled doesn't even nearly cover how I feel just now.  I can just say that if you're ever in a swap with jadore-le-rose, cross your fingers that you get her 'cos she's AMAZING!   ;D

Ok...

Cupcake fairy box, containg a cameo necklace and a fabric covered necklace

Handy drawstring bag

Reversable bunting

Instuments of sewing pincushion

Stripey handle bag

I couldn't be happier with this swap and it actually the only time I've ever in my life considered using my "Sunday Name" so I could I could have wangled more items...I've LOVED this.   ;D

I got my package today!  Hooray! (Let's see how long I can rhyme) It's my favorite of all time!

Okay, enough of that.  BEHOLD!  The pic obeseness that is the awesomeness that is my package from Juicebox29

Everything in the box...

J - is for Joyful PMS Kit!

I have been dying for one of those microwavable heat pad things, and doppelJess took the task on wonderfully!  There's also cute tissues (I tend to cry A LOT, LoL) and the little square is filled with the same feed corn, it's something I can throw at John!!  HA!

And a close up of the fabric that we both agree is so perfect for me,  ;D (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=377001)

E - is for Enjoy A Relaxing Evening

Yummy Bath Gel, Apple bath salts that smell SO GOOD and a bath bomb!  Now if only I could get the cats out of the tub...*edit* Oh, and a great book thong with red dice on each end that got caught up in the tissue paper!

S - is for Supplies

Craft brushes that were totally on my OWS list, big blue glitter, and bold colored star confetti!  Perfection!

S - is for SNACK ATTACK!

A wicked awesome Sundae Kit, a water bottle with a filter in it (PERFECT, 'cause the water here needs filtered), Reese's Cups and a reusable snack bag (that I will now be using to keep John's hard candy and the like in my purse in case his sugar gets low).

Here's John with the candy he's not really allowed to have, LoL

I - is for Irresistible Extras

Nemo and Sponge Bob band-aids, Spray hand sanitizer, and a keyring bottle opener!  As prepared as I am for "everything" on a daily basis with my giant bag, I don't have a bottle opener!  And I love that it's from your school, I'll never be able to forget you Twin!

C - is for Cute Magnets and Cat Toys

The felt food kawaii magnets

And the cat toys - felt decapitated rats heads and a rope!

I am telling you, she is possibly watching us through a hidden camera - the cats have these toys called squirrel tails, they're basically long fur tails with a little bit of a hard face with eyes...they tear off the little heads and ignore the tails!  Now they just have heads, perfect!

A - is for Accessories and Awesome note cards

"Candy" raver-type braclets (fun!) and adorable stamped Thank You cards.

Everything is perfect and amazing and I'm SO glad kayrun partnered us up!  This swap was a blast!  Thanks to kayrun for organizing and doppelJess for being such a great partner!

Oh, and shots of the cats playing with everything, they're thumbnails in case you don't wanna see my cat craziness, LoL - please ignore the messy futon mattress on the floor, we only have one A/C unit in the apartment, and it's NOT in the bedroom, heh.

I am feeling totally spoiled by my swap partner Mary, aka angelofmusic!  She really outdid herself!

First of all, she wrapped everything in pretty paper and ribbons with stickers for each letter of my name (she even included the "G" since I go by Lori G!).  She also included a bunch of yarn and the biggest knitting needles I have ever seen.

PLUS she spelled my name a second time in CANDY!  L is for lemon drops (they are sugar free, which is perfect for my pre-diabetic husband), O is for orange slices, R is for Razzles (first it's candy, then it's gum!), I is for Icebreakers Mints, and G is for GIANT lollipop!  My son has already claimed it for himself, but he's gonna have to pry it away from me.  :)

Here's a pic of my son opening one of the packages:

L is for LITTLE Green Scrubbie -- crocheted out of cotton yarn and recycled plastic bags for the scrubbie part.  Ingenious!

(pic shows cards, magnets and the scrubbie)

O is for OLD-Fashioned Dishcloths -- so pretty!

R is for REALLY Scary Monster Tote for my son -- the cutest thing ever!!  The puzzle piece fabric is so adorable, and the mouth has slots for crayons (and the crayons stick out like sharp teeth!).  She also filled it with a couple of coloring books.

I is for ITTY-Bitty Magnets to add to my ever-growing magnet collection -- with cute things like frying pans and Legos.  Love them!

G is for GIFT Cards -- beautifully decorated with flowers.  Gorgeous and handy!

I love everything so much!  I only hope angelofmusic is not disappointed by my package.  I was encouraged when I saw her return address label:

So I know I was on the right track.  ;)

Lori G. aka Tangemeenie

After a very long day I finally managed to post the wonderful package my partner notknit sent to me.

1st this super cute card.

Now for all my letters:   ROBIN

R = Retro style apron, retro looking buttons, recipe cards and ribbon.

This girl did some major stalking.  My kitchen is retro 50's pale yellow and aqua.

The buttons are so cute, I have never seen any of these and will have to look for the perfect project to use then on.  I also received some cute cherry recipe cards and cute bird ribbon.

O = Owl, crocheted hotpad

I love this little fellow!  The shape is super cute, I love the color combo and I have a love for hooties!!!!

B = Baked goods as in a crocheted cupcake hat and mini cup cake cards.

The hat is perfect!!  Straight from my wist.  I so admire people who can crochet, and this was made without a pattern, she just made it up as she went.  Amazing!   I have been holding it an looking at in awe!  I just never got past a simple granny square.

I = Ichthyoid ( You clever girl)   A fish hotpad!

This one will make a trip to the lake where we have a trailer and be hung up on the wall.  I love the yarn that was used, so soft and pretty!

N = Nifty monogram note cards.  These are so cool!  I have needed these for a while,  I don't know why, but I never have any paper in my purse so these will come in handy.

notknit Thanks you so much for such a wonderful and well thought out package.

Yep!  This is still my favorite swap! Will be here for the next round, and thank you kayrun for such a great partner and organizing this swap once again!!!!

I love this part:

I wish I could think that far ahead!

What great work your partner did on the monster bag as well as everything else, and it's so cute to see your little boy helping open the pkg!

And I'm *sure* angelofmusic will be thrilled with your pkg as well...just you wait & see!

I rec'd my amazing package from JessySihk while I was away this weekend.  My daughter called me and teased me with the fact that I was leaving town for 4 days and had a swap package waiting on the kitchen table.... bad daughter :-[.

Everything is wonderful and I promise to get photos up tomorrow.  I'm too tired to do the whole picture loading thing tonight.

And Jessysihk:  I can't tell you what a huge compliment you accidentally paid me.  That needlebook is not machine embroidered, its 100% hand embroidered.  I am thrilled beyond all possibility that you could have mistaken it for machine work.  Thank you ;D.

Also; I am so happy to hear that most of the fabrics I sent will work for your quilt.  I tried to work it that way, but I was unsure if I was interpreting your messages correctly as far as color and prints that you were going to use went.

Last;  I won't even try to comment separately on the items posted here since I last checked, but they are all fantastic.  I love spell my name swaps so much!

Lol oh wow! Im looking at the needle book right now and i seriously cannot tell its hand done lol =] I knew the letters were but the symbol looks done by machine, its perfect! great job!
And im glad you liked what i sent i cant wait to see photos! I was also hoping i got your colors right =S i was not completely sure with shade and stuff.

I am feeling totally spoiled by my swap partner Mary, aka angelofmusic!  She really outdid herself!

She also included a bunch of yarn and the biggest knitting needles I have ever seen.

Ok, first of all - I am going to steal that music apron! LOVE IT! And if I can't get my hands on the music one, then I'm going after the yellow and teal one! Great job on those!

Second, I'm in agreement that even tho I'm breaking from swapping after the bookmark swap, I would totally do this one again. :) And I don't even have my package yet (which I KNOW I will love.) :)

Third, thanks for the compliments. I can't take credit for the monster tote. I "borrowed" the idea from here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=340056.0  I've had the post bookmarked forever, but I kept waiting to be partnered with someone who had a little boy so I could try it. I was so worried those crayons would melt so I'm glad to see they made it in eight, normal shaped pieces! I got the fabric at Hobby Lobby. It's actually the autism awareness fabric (here's a pic of their cause ribbon with the puzzle pieces: http://www.autism-society.org/site/PageServer?pagename=homepage). Glad you liked everything. I had fun making them. The scrubbie and dishcloths were made on our mission trip since I had 12 hours of riding in a church van and nothing to do but crochet! (Especially when my ipod died.)

I'm intrigued by the M&M teaser. I love M&Ms - eating them of course, and my return labels, checks, and debit card holder are all M&Ms. I even had a green M&M shirt for awhile, so...hmmmm...can't wait to get back home and open my package. :)

glad you are back, gamemom!
LOL on your dtr teasing you about the swap pkg waiting on the table  :)

Thanks, I'm going to have to get myself a laptop because being away from Craftster for days at a time is simply not okay.

And as for the daughter... she'll get hers... eventually ;)

As promised, here are the pics of the wonderful spell-my-name goodies I rec'd from Jessysihk.

My name is Teresa:

T :  A perfect Tote for my knitting works in progress.  I needed this so badly, and what a great bonus that its just too cute.  It also has a pocket inside!  One of my favorite things about this bag is that it matches my living room furniture perfectly so I don't feel as if I need to hide it in the closet when I'm not working on my project.

e : Embroidered Wall Art in one of my absolute favorite themes... owls!  This is simply gorgeous in real life.  I wish you could see it.  the textures are amazing too, the background fabric is kind of suedey.

r : Really Cute Stitch Markers.  These are made of poly clay and are so adorable.  They represent another favorite of mine... bees!

e : Earrings!  And not just any earrings, I got sushi earrings!

I couldn't manage to get a decent photo of my earrings.  I only took about 30 photos before giving up.  Hopefully, Jessy can post a better one because they are wonderful.

Next Up, s : A Stitch Marker Wallet!  This is such a great idea and its so cute.  You'll notice it matches my tote.  The blanket stitch on this is absolutely perfect!

a : A very pretty Artsy Tin.  One can never have too many boxes, tins, and assorted containers and I love this one.

Wait, there's more!  She also sent these extras:

Thank you so much Jessy!  I love each and every thing.  I hope we're partners in another swap some day.

Finally back from cheer camp (an odd thing for someone who's 8 months pregnant to do, I know) and I have goodies to post!!

A - Attractive Bookmarks

Karen got my love of Hello Kitty so well!!  The one on the left isn't crafted, but the other two are.  I just LOVE ladybugs too.  Bookmarks are awesome because I usually have a ton of books "going" at the same time, and I use receipts as bookmarks, and then I can't find my page and it defeats the purpose :)

P - Pink cloth & yarn

I love making dishcloths for others, but I had never made any for myself!  Pink is my favorite color!  (And as I am posting these pics, the mailman delivered another package with yummy alpaca yarn!  Pink too!!)

R -Round soap

Plus 2 other natural soaps.  I looove handmade/natural soaps, especially to use with the babies.

I -Important craft supplies

I just got into mosaics the last few months, so this is grout and some really great cool colored mosaic tiles.  I have the PERFECT project for these too!!

L -Leaf bookmark and pattern

This is so cool, I've never seen anything like it before! It can be a bookmark or a necklace (or a headband!) and it's adjustable with a button.  Thank you for including the pattern, I have a feeling I'll make lots of these for Christmas presents.

Extras

All kinds of Hello Kitty goodness!  And cool tattoo themed buttons!

Thank you for being such a wonderful partner Kayrun!! It was so much fun to craft for you, and I LOVE everything that I got!! Thank you so much!!

Oh, here's a picture of the inside of the accordion book that I made for Kayrun.  This was a project in my Psychology of Art class, where it was suggested that it could be used for the steps of recovery.  I made my mom one with Bible verses in it.  I just left this one blank on the inside:

I'm glad you had a good photo of the earrings.  The detail is just amazing and I hated for everyone to miss that.  I wear a lot of black ( not cool goth black so much as middle age, hide a little weight black) and those earrings will go with everything I own.  They will get plenty of wear.

I'm sure I tried to fit the candies into her name too, but since it was awhile ago when I sent this, I can't remember how.... ::)

And here's a close-up of the back of the iPod cozy:

As always, this was an amazing swap.  I haven't gotten around to posting because I've still been under the weather, but here is what I got:

My Name in felt letters.

L - Lots of kits.  Check it all out.  I got a travel kit, medicine bottle pin cushion and pins, needlebook, chalk pringles can and chalk for writing notes, a tea wallet, punch needle kit, corn on the cob, peach, and bell pepper stuffie kits, bottle cap pin cushion kits, and water bottle drink stick holder kits.

E - Egg full of knitting and crocheting accessories.  I got a row counting bracelet, a counter, and stitch markers.

A - Angels

N - Nifty Buttons

N - Night scene postcards of Atlanta and a new item - a cool Georgia dog tag keychain.

And she also gave me a stuffed owl that she had gotten in another swap, but decided to give to me since I love owls and she thought I'd like it more.

Thank you so much Koalascout.  I absolutely love all of it!  Thank you for spoiling me so. :)

I really like the sugar skull and pendant.  The egg filled with treasures was an excellent idea for E. Wow all those kits will keep you busy.

Hi Everyone.  I asked Crystal to post pics for me of the wonderful package she sent as i have been on bed rest for quite some time now... I am happy to say that although my recovery has been slow - everyday i get to spend more and more time out of bed!  I wanted to post pics of everything Crystal sent and comment on those items:

Day of the Dead IPOD cozy... so beautiful!  Love it love it love it!

check out my beautiful necklace!  i wore it yesterday when the family came by for a visit and all my nieces loved it!

I collect picture frames - and this is now my favorite!  I plan on putting a pic of my great grandma and grandma (now in heaven)... the quote is beautiful!  it reads "The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity"

Cute Magnets, these are being put away till the little guy understands they dont belong in his mouth - but i love the bright cheery colors!

Yummy Candy - as you can see the hubby wasted no time getting into the goodies... we loved seeing the way things are packaged in Canada.

and there was a cute orange flower pen, but my son took that one over and i have yet to find it.

Crystal, thanks for the awesome swap and for being so understanding about my injuries.  You should be receiving any day now, as my husband sent it out a few days after yours was sent!

Karen, you did an awesome job organizing and also just wanna say thanks for your patience with me!

Everyones work has been fabulous!  Thanks for reading!

SO glad you liked everything Marisol!! I can't wait to receive your package!~    :D

I did, however, receive an INCREDIBLE "angel" package from quaggy!!  ;D Since my partner was unfortunately injured and unable to craft all the requirements for the swap, kayrun asked her to help out...

the whole shebang:

She crafted the R & Y in my name
R- Retro looking purse with red buttons (I LOVE the material you used for this!)
Y- your very own sewing box (with supplies!!)

and here's the fantastic cross-stitched top of the box:

thank you SO MUCH quaggy!!  ;D

I'm so glad your hubby was able to help out  :)
I probably jumped the gun on asking for some angels to help out,
but I was afraid that maybe your injuries would keep you from being able to
mail until far after the send date, so.....
crystal will be the spoiled one this round, LOL   ;D
Anyway, Marisol, I'm so glad you are recovering well & that you enjoyed your pkg....
Can't wait to see what you & hubby made for crystal!

So glad the extras arrived and that you like what I sent.  Glad to hear that your partner is recovering nicely, and has such a great hubby!  I also want to thank Kayrun for being such a great organizer and making sure that her swaps always turn out fantastic!  She is the best when it comes to making sure that when life gets in the way we all come together for each other.  I can hardly wait for the next round!!!!!!

awww, shucks, quaggy  ::)
thanks   :-*

I've had to find one other angel this round
(kind of weird.....maybe it's something about summer?  bec. this swap usually turns out perfectly)
so thenorm has to wait a bit longer for her pkg....
I really think she's gonna like what she gets in a couple of weeks, though   ;D

Spoiled indeed! If you ever need someone to angel, please pm me so I can pass on the generosity...

I was away on training, then out of town for a wedding, so was unable to post until tonight, but I received another package from YumJello01! She sent a fantastic [S is for] sparrow necklace...I love it!

(sorry about the photo quality... it's been storming all day, so no natural light)

and a close-up...

Thank you so much!!!

I totally loved making the sparrow necklace, I think I might make more!  I didn't get any better pictures myself, shrinky dink + crappy camera = no good shots.
