they need to be washed first. The Boy spilled chocolate milk on himself first thing that day (as you can see), then I somehow got a spot on mine, and The Girl got hers dirty too. It was a fun day. :)

:o those shoes are amazing!!! *wisted*

SO i received two great packages this week!

first from Lindy who sent me an awesome whimsy jar!!
an adorable butterfly from her daughter (which is hanging right over my crafting area!!)

look at all the BEADS!!

a fortune telling fish! i used to have one of these a long time ago and lost it so im so happy to have a new one! :D (for those of you who don't know what this is - its a thin sheet of plastic in the shape of a fish that moves around with the temperature of your hand, depending on how it moves is how you tell the fortune!)

AND a harry potter book necklace!!

and today i received a fantastic package from the very talented rlynn :D she claimed for some funky jewelry:

ADORABLE bird earrings:

the notecard:

a flippin sweet ring with a map of my town!!! (i just moved to this dinky town and didn't even know it WAS on a map!)

AND a gorgeous charm-style necklace inspired by my wist!

I have SERIOUSLY been spoiled this week! Thank you both SO much!! I love everything :D

Title: Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 58 Gallery
Post by: rlynn on May 22, 2010 02:57:31 PM
Im really glad you like the jewelry!  I was pretty excited myself to find your town in that map but more because the map was bought from a reuse store in Portland and was missing tons of pages.  The notecard is one that Banga made me last round.  Hmm...looks like it got a bit beat up but its still pretty.  :)

Yay Everything looks so great! Im glad you liked them Padfoot. We have the same shoe size so i made a pair for myself first and im in love with them. The fabric seemed similar to the first pair you had posted so im glad you like it. Oh i wanted to mention i got the pattern for those from an Etsy Seller Called Winter Peach (http://www.etsy.com/shop/winterpeach) the pattern directions were amazing and i really liked sewing them. Hand sewing the leather seam was a little difficult but really worth it. Im sure it'd work the same if you just put leather circles on the ball and heel of the foot. I would highly recommend it compared to the free patterns around as it's allready sized for you which makes it easy.

I received a wonderful fantastical  :D box of goodies from ~Glenda!

She claimed me for wall art for Aria's room but threw in all these goodies!

fabric!  i already have plans for the pretty multi-colored embroidered one!

tea, stickers, adorable erasers, tattoos, bookmarks (i read voraciously, these will be handy), cute duckie soap, E6000 glue, and bails!

here's Aria checking out her new tattoo! tough-looking, eh?  heh.

and here's the wall art!  i am so in love with this!  Glenda got permission from Emily of The Black Apple fame to recreate one her pieces of artwork.  Now...I really like The Black Apple artwork so I was excited when she told me but when I ripped open my box and found this sweet picture...I practically squealed with delight! I LOVE this so much!!!  It definitely going to be treasured in our family and it will be the first embroidered artwork in our house!

Thank you, Glenda!  I feel spoiled rotten!

:)

Wow, I'm first :). I received from padfoot yesterday -- she made not one, but TWO, goodies off my Wist, and sent along some extras that will absolutely be put to use.

A pic of everything:

Wisty goodie #1 -- I *love* trees and the moon-n-stars; this embroidery is perfect for me:

Wisty goodie #2 -- This sentiment cracks me up; it'll be perfect in my crafting space:

Padfoot's embroidery and cross-stitching are wonderful! I love to stitch but don't make too many things to keep, so it's really special when I get things other people have stitched just for me.

I'll frame these in embroidery hoops or lace them over foamboard and get them hung up in my crafting space this week :).

Thank you very much, padfoot!!

That's weird -- I posted my photos into the Gallery thread that was linked on the first page of the Round 58 discussion, and when I went to check that gallery today it was gone and had apparently been merged into this one. So it's sorta doofussy in my post above that I said "I'm first" -- well, I *was* the first (and only LOL) person to have posted pics in the Gallery that was linked to in the discussion post. Thanks to whoever moved my post over to this thread -- you might want to update the link to this Gallery in the first post of the discussion thread because right now if you click on the link that's there it says "thread does not exist".

Now I'm going back to the beginning of this thread to see what I missed!!

lol, racky mentioned it in the discussion thread, she merged the 2 galleries into one.

I received my first package last week but it's been a migraine-filled weekend (still ouchy) so my brain just hasn't been cohesive enough to post until now. It's still foggy so bear with me.

First up, I received the most awesome Cozy Winter Wrap from stitch81! It's the most perfect colors too of a grey with white trim. It's soft, fuzzy and exactly what I need for the cooler months. (Sadly, it's hot right now but it's still way awesome and I can never have enough items to cover up when I get chilly!)

Thank you stitch81!! I am envious of your sewing prowess. (But thankful to be the recipient of your skill! ;D )

~ * ~ * ~ *  ~ * ~ * ~ *  ~ * ~ * ~ *  ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

Then this weekend, I received some really awesome handmade miniatures for my Faerie Hutches from CamOovas!

Look at all the cute goodies! I love the baskets of mini mushrooms. :D There's also bones and a teeny mouse, beads, a clock, a basket a bird and two felted owls. So great! I will definitely enjoy making a hutch with these awesome little minis!

Thanks, CamOovas! Great job! ;D

arwena received but is having trouble finding her camera so i'm posting pics for her.

i claimed her for a sunglasses cozy and some bottlecap pincushions.

the sunglasses cozy is made from an upholstery sample and the strap is from SCRAP, Portland's reuse store.  the only new components are the fleece and snap.

here's a view of the inside...fleecy, nice and soft.  :)

and here are the bottlecap pincushions!  these were a lot of fun to make!

I received a super awesome package from ~Glenda today! She claimed me for art, but sent so much more - Thanks Glenda! :)

She sent me beautiful fabric in batiks and metallics, and two embroidered pieces that I'm going to make a cuff out of ;D Also tea, bookmarks, and a notepad that closely matches a dandylion stationary set I have.

But the crossstitch art is really amazing! I had this one my wist and Glenda matched the cat to look just like my kitty, Nova! I love this so much  :D Now I'm going to put a frame on my wish list to go with it.

What a wonderful package - thank you so much, Glenda!

Shameless fat cat shot for comparison:

I love the headbands. I have a SIL with lush curly hair and I've been thinking about making her some headbands like these, except I don't like cutting fabric so that presents a problem ;). I'm loving all the felt food -- the Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls look fantastic (now I have a hankering for some of those!).

No problem babalina58.  ;)

Thanks. :) The pop tart and swiss rolls were my favorites to make, they make me want to eat some too.  :D And the headbands were fairly easy to cut since I used a rotary cutter.  ;) I am not to good with cutting fabric with scissors.

Here is the clothespin apron and furoshiki DeannaLynn06 sent me :D I am still figuring out how to tie it he he.  And the apron is RIDICULOUSLY useful.  It has cut my hanging laundry time by at least half.

Kitshckween sent me two really adorable knit cupcakes (done all swirly with icord) and a really pretty flower for my hair.

You're welcome!

Funny story...I had the bird nest in mind right away but I wanted to try a stamp. So I looked at some online and such and then I started carving. Being that I'm new to it, I was halfway through when I realized I did it backwards. Whoops! So I tried to shape the outside to still give it shape. It was cute anyway so I hope it's still good. ;)

But yeah, note to self: stamps are a reverse so carve the opposite! :D

First up is this fantastic numbers game!  Which couldn't have come at a better time!  Aria insists that 1,2,7,8,9,10 is how you count to 10.  No matter how much I try to tell her that 3,4,5,6 exist...she refuses to acknowledge them.  I'm hoping this fantastic game helps me out a bit here.  Its washable (pertinent for toddlers!) and there are so many ways for Aria to play with it.  :)  By the way Aria was helping me with the picture by stealing some of the pieces and throwing them around. Heh.

Next we have these lovely felt dumplings!  There are actually 5 of the folded ones but Aria insisted on playing with 2 of them! :)

And last we have these lovely legwarmers!  MommyTheMaid said she got them from a past OWS but her daughter has outgrown them so she passed them onto us!  We love them!  They are so pretty!  And I really like the idea that they get a life beyond one child.

when i took the first pair off to model the second, Aria demanded I put the first pair on her arms!

Thank you!  We love our goodies!

Also, I know I already posted ~Glenda's beautiful wall art but I wanted to post a pic of it up on the wall.  This one almost didn't make it to its intended recipient's room.  It was hanging out in my craft room, but I cleaned the other day and decided it should go up on Aria's wall. The colors match her room perfectly!

and a close-up in natural light on her wall...the last photo i took didn't do it justice.  it was in my cave of a living room at night.

thanks again, ~Glenda!

I love the legwarmers/arm warmers on Aria!  She is adorable and I am excited that she loves the game.  I think the green/purpley pair have been worn maybe twice and Athena never even wore the rainbow pair.  She grew out of them very quickly and the rainbows "didn't match her leotard" for dance glass.   ::)  The develop their own fashion sense so young. he he

The dressform pincushion is ADORABLE!! It's going on my Wist :).

I rearranged my craft room / office last week and finally got around to hanging all my wall stuff up a couple nights ago. I used embroidery hoops to frame the cross-stitch and the embroidery Padfoot sent me, so wanted to show a picture of the end result of those.

I used a black Sharpie to "paint" the embroidery hoop the witch cross-stitch is in, and happened to have some adorable black polka-dotted ribbon to use as a hanger.

For the tree-n-stars embroidery, I had some dark blue with cream-colored stars fabric, so bonded the embroidery to that fabric. The fabric shows through, but I like how it looks - sort of like a very dark night with lots of stars. I had an embroidery hoop I'd spray-painted silver a while back and like how that looked with the fabric. No silver ribbon so I used pink for now, but I'll score some silver ribbon next trip to Hobby Lobby and swap it out.

My craft room walls are very green, and both of these look really nice hanging up against the green :).

Thanks again, Padfoot!!

Yes, do stress that!! I've been having a BLAST doing embroidery & cross-stitch for this round of OWS (it's the first round I've participated in). If I'm not burned out by round 59, I'll jump into it and would definitely claim you for embroidery or cross-stitch. Just keep adding ideas to your Wist :).

I got two great packages today!   :)

I received from Styupe! She claimed me for something for Aria!

There was this very lovely shawl/poncho for Aria.  Sorry I couldn't get an action shot.  Aria doesn't quite understand the whole shawl thing quite yet.  BUT we will practice and the shawl actually has plenty of room to grow (it fits now but she will definitely get some use out of it for the next 2-4 years as I don't see her getting so tall and wide not to fit into it)

she also sent an adorable jellyfish!  Aria flipped over this.  She shouted, "Jellyfishie!" and immediately grabbed him and danced him around.  She kissed him goodnight and stuck him in a special cavern (a toy of hers placed upside down) for the night.  I'm sure she will wake him up in the morning. All day, if she dropped him somewhere, she kept asking, "where's my jellyfishie?"  he was a huge hit. oh and all that stuff on her face is face crayons...she spent the morning at the children's museum.

And then there was my package from lapoli!  she claimed me for knitted washcloths. here are the lovely BIG washcloths.  They are so nice!  I love them!

But she didn't just send me washcloths even though that would have been plenty!  She threw in gobs and gobs of fabric!  Swoon! Heh. I needed to take 2 photos...they wouldn't all fit into one!

I'm very excited to see what projects I can come up with.  I adore the striped fabric and the farm animal feedbag one, lapoli!  Thank you so much!http://shop.craftster.org/

I received from Banga today.  She claimed me for a harry potter inspired book.  She made me a herbology one, and it turned out really good.  Looks just like a classroom book straight from hogwarts. :D  Its got a ribbon bookmark and lots of blank pages too.  Thank you Banga for it!  Its already being used, as the kiddo snagged it and has been using it for a sketch book.

I received 2 packages Saturday and 1 today, so here they are:

I received this package from kitschkween. There is a bunch of freezer paper and yarn. I love the yarn. I live in a very small town so it is hard to get supplies. They don't sell any of these yarns locally. My mind automatically went to work on the items I can make.

Next up is the package from lindyv321. Everything is just too perfect. There are tons of different types of yarns to try. I'm so excited as I've never worked with any of these kinds before. She knew I wanted to try stencils, so she sent freezer paper and some stencils. The last item is a knifty knitter. I couldn't be more excited. I wanted to try them out without having to pay a bunch of money for yet another craft I may have no talent for. I'm so excited to get started.

The last package is from phoenixfiredesigns. She saw in my wist that I wanted to do crackle painting, so she sent me all the supplies I'll need to get started. She even sent me the same colors from the tutorial I had in my wist.

All the packages I received are so wonderful. I couldn't be more excited.

Since I'm posting anyways, here is the package I sent to frosty772. I don't think she has posted a pic yet, so I'll save her some time :)

I sent her a Spiderman blanket (from her wist) and a scarf. I started the blanket using different colors. It didn't look right, so I started over with new colors. Instead of throwing the first one away, I finished the webbing and I included it as a mini blanket. Here is the mini:

Here are the knitted washcloths and felted bowls I received from lapoli. I love them all -- love the textures, especially love the colors. The felted bowls are a lovely mossy green, which the picture, I don't think, does justice to (lapoli, if you have a better picture of the bowls, please post it!). When I reshaped the bowls, I gave them flat bottoms and will use them for storing buttons and other crafting bits-n-bobs. I love having the washcloths because I'm a newbie knitter and being able to hold and see how stitches should look is invaluable -- not to mention the washcloths are beautiful and oh-so-soft :). Thanks lapoli!!

I recieved two packages.  The first from MissMoppet who made me a shirt straight from my wists.  Well actually I like this version of it better than the one on my wist!

I am wearing it today since I am not at work!

She also included some fabric to add use for I Spy quilts I want to make my kids and some crochet hooks since I am learning to crochet!

I also received from LuckDragon who made me a stationary organizer.  I love this fabric and can't wait to get it all filled up with my random note cards

she also included two sandwich bags for my kids.  They are going to have the coolest lunch bags next year!

and some super cute notecards that are already in their organizer

Thanks so much guys!  I loved both packages and they came at the perfect time.

Well i recieved an amazing package from pad foot the other day and just have to gush about it. I got it early in the morning as i was on my way out to breakfast so these things had but 10 minutes of being in my possession before they were put to work! Which is why i dont have an all together shot XD

when i opened the package the first thing i saw was:

It's been on my wist for a very long time and it is the most amazing thing ever. I named him Pi as he remined me of the symbol!

Then i got into the sandwich bags they are amazign for chips and sandwiches and all that great stuff!

AND A MONSTER BAG!

AMAZING Package Padfoot Thank You So Much!

The monster bag makes me smile :). He's cute!!

I received a wisty surprise today from starmumplus -- it's a quilted list-taker, which has been at the top of my wish list, and I love it!! When I'm taking notes in meetings, I hate people to see how messy messy messy my handwriting is, so now I can close my list-taker & no one's the wiser. I almost broke down last week and bought a generic, black, masculine list-taker at the office supply store -- now I'm soooooo glad I didn't!!

Here's the front:

The inside has such gorgeous cheery fabric -- love the lemon-yellow flowers, and two pockets (one for my legal pad, the other for my desk calendar):

This is a pic of the front and back, so you can see all of the different fabrics starmumplus used. There's such a nice selection of gorgeous fabrics!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, starmumplus!!

I received from styupe awhile back and have not been able to post pictures really until now.  With myself finishing up the semester and my son graduating things got really crazy lately.

However she sent an amazing spiderman inspired crocheted blanket for my son!!

She started off with a different one and said she didnt care for the colors but just make it into a stuffed animal blanket.  she also made me a scarf as a nice little extra!!

They have been enjoying there blankets from day one.  My son has gotten rid of his old one and now uses this one every night!!!  thank you for such a fantastic item.  Please accept my apologies for not getting these photos up sooner then this!!  I am sorry!!

Now this is where I really feel like a jerk!!  pixieval sent me a fantastic box of supplies.  Awesome fabrics, beads,  magazines a very cool 19th century magazine print from Harpers magazine!!  tons of cool things.  Well while using my very new camera I thought I took a photo and then put everything in their respective places.  I take photos pretty much immediately with the intention of immediately posting pics.  doesnt always work out that way but the intention is there lol.  I go to upload my pictures and notice that instead of a photo i took a five second video (which explains why I didnt hear the "click" but kept seeing the picture in the files on the camera.  Duh).  I will attempt to get another photo up but wanted to tell her thanks for a great package.  I had a lot of fun opening up all the great things you sent me!!!

Thank you both so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received from educharme today!  And it came at a great time.  Our air conditioner went out over the weekend and we still have not been able to get it fixed.  And while we dont mind the heat, the humidity and heat combined with no wind make it so hot.  So, it was great to get a lovely package in the mail today.  I received the cutest little bonsai bead/wire tree.  Even the kiddo was like "Oh thats a cute little tree with beads!"  Im very impressed with the skill and time it must of took to make this.  Its so perfect!  And as an extra she sent me dinosaur sandwhich cutters!  Love these and am excited to use them.  I plan to use them later today when I make myself and the kiddo sandwhiches for lunch.  :D  Thank you educharme!!!!! :D

See!  isnt it cute!  The little green beads and pretty silver branches.  I love it!

This is so fun!  Im so excited to use it for our sandwhiches!

I received a great box of supplies from Juicebox29 last week, sorry it took so long to get pics up!

Great extras for Lily-Anne including some books and homemade crayons. Lots of whimsys, corks, beautiful yarn, paper goodies, and more! That paper you had labeled as elephant poop paper! Is it really made from elephant poop? I am madly in love with it either way!
Close up of this awesome sticker!

My first crafty love was paper, but I've fallen out of it since I started crocheting, I am trying to build up my paper supply again, and look at all this great paper goodness!

Thank you so much, it is such an awesome package!

Blowing my mind, it is seriously so amazing all the things we can use to make paper besides trees.

yes it is made from elephant poop! :) i'm glad you enjoy everything!

Where I live we don't have elephants running down the road or roaming in the neighborhood so where would you get elephant poop more or less to make paper out of it?? I must just say that is one of the strangest things I have ever seen here ROTFL... :o
~giggling and grossed out right now...Can you recycle dog poop for paper ROTFL I have 3 rotten lil babys filling my yard LOL...JK...This is really very interesting to me...

Mwah ha ha ha hah!  Oh, dear Im laughing so hard my eyes are watering after reading this.  I agree babalin58, the thought of poo paper  is so interested yet gross and strange.  But Id never have to buy paper again if we could recyle our little dogs poop into paper.  Course, I wouldnt do it though.

I recieved from padfoot today, and it was AWESOME!  I look absolutly terrible today (I'm having a graduation party on Saturday so today is clean the house day.  Here I am, cleaning the house) so to resemble me is my manaquin head that I named "Machine."   She's sporting my usual hat and sunglasses to represent me.

I got claimed for a cute choker and a wisty suprise.  Here's how it went.

Here is the cute choker.  It's purple, it's crocheted, and it's exactly what I've been looking for.

This is Part I of my wisty surprise.  I have something like this on my wist, and I love padfoot's interperatation.  It's soooo cute!  Go buttons!

Part II of my wisty surprise and I LOVE it!  My mom didn't get it at first.  I said Mom, it's suppose to look like you got your throat slit.  She of course thought I was strange and walked away.  YES!

And here's everything together.  I got cool stickers, too.  I <3 stickers!

So padfoot, I publicly thank you for the awesome package.  Thank you!

In the last couple of days I've received two swap parcels.

The First from Faux_Valentine. Absoluetly gorgeous Totoro mittens from my DD. They going to be kept safe for winter.

From Pixieval. A lovely reuseable lunch bag. Plenty big enough to fit my plastic tubs and I just adore the cute Elephant fabric. Plus a couple of squares for my sons blanket and a fridge magnet from her area.

Thank you for the wonderful goodies.

I received from thatkid last week, and have been trying to wait for dh to be here for action shots, but he's been working so much... I didn't want to wait any longer because I was so amazed by how much beautiful knitted things she sent me!

Warning: Something is wrong with my camera, I've been playing with the settings all morning, but still can't figure it out. :(

First a ton of 3x3 squares for my Craftster afghan! these will be very special to me, because they are quite literally the first ones I have for this project!
They are lots of different colors, but again, my camera is being naughty.

Then she knitted me 2 hats too!

They are perfect! I thought I was going to have to wait a few months to wear them, but we are having second winter right now, so I'm wearing the purple one right now!
Thank you so much thatkid! You are awesome!

My camera is still acting funky, but these are the best I can do with it right now! sorry about picture quality!

Recvd a great package from MommyTheMaid yesterday. She claimed me twice, but this package felt like 50 claims!

TONS of crafting/sewing/crochet/knitting magazines!

yarn, buttons, 2 different kinds of homemade laundry soap, lots of postage stamps for my postage stamp collection

A notebook that she filled with lots of great ATC tips(dd, and the first d does not stand for darling today! got ahold of it and took out a few pages this morning, but it was fixable!)

Lots and lots of paper goodness for my new paper stash

And my absolute favorite part of the package! My first ATCs! I want to fill a journal of ATCs from all the awesome people I've met on craftster, same as how I'm doing for the craftster afghan. I love these!

Thank you so much MTM!!!

okay so i DID take action shots but apparently promptly deleted them afterward.   ::)

so here's the top.

and the bottoms.

and here's the only action shot i didn't delete.  ah well, you can see the cute little bird and the fabric she used in this shot a bit.

and here's the baggie of jewelry.  there are some great pieces in here.  can't wait to disassemble and reassemble.  :)  Thanks for the great goodies, MommyTheMaid!!

and since i'm already on here, i thought i'd post what i sent to MommyTheMaid.

a tie applique tee for her son

a mom tattoo tee for her son (this was partially hand-painted as my stencil failed me...heh)

and a jewelry piece from her wist

Thanks for posting rlynn!  I  need to find my battery charger so I can get pics up.  Troy has worn the Mom shirt at least 5 or 6 times now and the tie shirt about 4 times.  They are our favorite tees!  And I wore the cherry necklace yesterday (and a few other times) and was asked like 3 times where I got it he he.

I also need to post pics of the other awesome goodies I received as soon as I find that darn batter charger!  Along with the tees and necklace from Rlynn I also received some fabulous supplies from pixieval.  Bablina's package with some wishes of mine in it should be here today or tomorrow.  I will have the camera battery charged by then.

I got a fabulous package from jadore-le-rose today, first out this wonderful piece of fabric and button art, I am a bit fussy about what I really like when it comes to fabric art..but I love this! The colours, the design, the placement are all perfect..imagine that she worried that she had done too much!!..I think this is wonderful.
the colours are most accurate in this one I think.

And if that weren't enough (I was spoiled!) she sent me this t-shirt, from my wists. I love it..as soon as I took it out of the package my daughter asked if she could have it..I said no. jadore-le-rose wasn't going to send it as she wasn't entirely happy with it as she said there was a smudge or two. I honestly didn't see any until I read the letter...I am so so glad that you sent it, it fits great and the colour is just perfect.

And I almost missed this..a gorgeous little delicate necklace of glass beads..

I was totally spoiled. thank you so so much Laura

educharme, I am glad that you got it OK, I left the neck strap fairly long, but you might want to tie a little knot in it so that it comes up a bit higher on you...at least if you are as messy at cooking as I am!

I received yesterday from babalina58 two amazing tees inspired by my wists and I love them both so much. They will be perfect for the summer and both fit perfectly, especially the white one which is the best fitting tee I've ever owned! I tried to get action shots, but they turned out horribly, so these pics will have to do.  :)

So here they both are...

Close up of the cameo applique...

And look at the cute kitten. Monica, your stencilling skills are amazing!

Thanks so much Monica, I really appreciate it, you made my day yesterday!  ;D

I'm a horrible organizer and a wretched swap partner.   ;D  I still haven't posted pictures of my OWS 58 gifties.  Today, I finally remembered to bring my camera to work so I could have it near a working computer with internet access.  So yay!  Sadly, my pictures of claire313's wonderful package aren't actually on my camera.  ???  Which is typical.  I need a personal assistant or possibly a new brain.  But at least I have a picture of the adorable bird embroidery icebyrd67 made.

Isn't it cute?  Unfortunately the frame got broken in transit, but I will eventually have the time to replace that.  The colours are a bit washed out in the picture, but it is straight up black & white, my favourite combo and as soon as I have a frame that will stay in one piece   ;)  I will be hanging it up in my little reading corner.  Thanks so much icebyrd and claire, I promise, pics coming soon.
