Title: Craftster Subway Art
Post by: envirocraft on May 04, 2010 01:51:38 PM
Here's my entry for May:

I've been meaning to make subway art for a while now and it just worked out really well with this challenge.

Close up of the skully scissors!

Thanks for looking! I'd love your vote when it's time!

I really like this! I'd love to have something like this to hang in my craft room.

What exactly is the definition of Subway art? I don't think I've heard that term before.

I would like to know as well. Never heard the term.

Not entirely sure actually, but I believe it's because the white on black lettering is supposed to be representative of old style subway signs.  I don't live anywhere that's ever had a subway, so I can't exactly be an authority on this! lol  I've seen these types of things on other people's blogs and really just like the look of them!

Nice explanation, and thanks.  I've never lived anywhere with a subway either.

It's also because in our subways at least here in New York there is art above the seats sometimes, like where they put ads, and when it's art like from the transit museum if it's words it often looks like that.  Subway signs still look like that here, great job!!
