Hee! I'm first in the gallery! I received from Burgz today! Yay!  :D I haven't finished to unwind the yarn yet, it's a hard job! I'm taking a break now, my wrist was hurting! But I took a few 'in progress' shot that I thought I'd share with you all.

Here it is out of the box (it's huge! and I have a strong suspicion that she went with my game theme even if I haven't looked in the booklet yet!  ;))

Here I see a little something hidden, it's a Monopoly magnet!:

I see some blue! And here is where I'm at now.

I'm having so much fun! I can't wait to see all that you sent me Burgz!  :)

I'm glad you're enjoying it! It took me FOREVER to wind everything up, but I had a blast :D

What a nice round MYB!  I'm always amazed how people can get them so round!  :P  I can never ever seem to keep mine round!

I was actually surprised that I got it so round too! I guess it's because it's such a large ball & I put all the big pieces in the middle... but I'll stop talking now because Lunanne hasn't finished unwinding ;)

Thats a massive ball! The winding up is the best part of the ball  :D I think Ill cheat with the unwinding this round and borrow my Mums ball winder, or maybe crochet it out, hrm  :)

I can't see the pictures yet so I can't comment on the goodies or the roundness.   :-\  But I got my yarnball, I just have to take pictures and get them on here.  It took FOOOOORRRRREEEEEVVVVVEEERRRRR to unwrap but I have some awesome goodies!  I have a record purse, a scarf with the music notes for "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles, LOTS of yarn, a few blocks of polymer clay, several pairs of earrings, a pendant to match one pair of the earrings, some chocolate (the chocolate bunny had to be sacrificed during the unwinding process  ::)), and chocolate soap...  I think I remembered everything.  I'll try to post pictures  sometime this week.

I'm still crafting away on the stuff for sarahj's yarnball...  I brought my knitting (because its small) to school with me, I'll knit over lunch and in between classes.   ;D

I finished unwinding the ball Burgz sent me! It was a hard job, there are 7 balls of yarn! Yes, 7! She chose my games theme and she totally got my style!

Here is everything together, the yarn, the pattern and everything that was hidden in the MYB!

The pattern she chose for me is totally awesome! It's an afghan, a Nintendo star one! And I love the colors too.

Here is everything that was in the ball: Monopoly magnets, heart bookmark, ring and necklace (that makes a rainbow with all the colors!), a slinky ball, game pieces and dices stitch markers, yummy smelling soap and lotion, a snakes and ladders travel game, a lemon lollypop and an awesome crocheted Pac Man ghost keychain.

Here is the little guy eyeing all the goodies  :D:

Thank you so much Burgz! I love everything, you totally spoiled me!  :D

Great Yarn ball, and such a fun theme!

Here's my teaser for Jexxican! However I did get a massive deal while at Walmart yesterday! I got 4 balls of the perfect coloured yarn for $5!! So she will/may get 1 or 2 of these pretties as extras... who knows ;)

They are all of a different fiber content and were all dyed by me!! ;D Oh and the colours are in no way a direct reflection of the theme I chose either Jexxican.... ;)

I"m FINALLY finding a morning to post pictures of my swap goodies!  Sorry it took so long!   :-\  Sarahj send me a HUGE yarnball!  So here are tons of pictures of all the goodies inside!  She picked two of my themes (music and chocolate) and then sent lots of crafty goodies with those two themes!

The two massive balls of yarn I rolled as I was unwinding this yarnball!  Black really is such a useful color isn't it?

She sent me TWO patterns!  These are patterns from one of my Ravelry lists!

The 6, yes, count them, 6 skeins of Red Heart inside the yarnball!

The skein of Lion Brand Homespun that tried to escape picture taking!

Chocolate Egg, Chocolate scented soap, Life is Good sticker (matched the tire cover on my jeep!) and 5 blocks of polymer clay!  There was a chocolate bunny too but I needed sustinance while unwrapping and he was the unfortunate victim.   :D

She knew I wanted to learn how to spin using a drop spindle so she sent me roving and a drop spindle!  yay!  Every time I say roving I think of a song the men's choir did in college "a-roving, a-roving, since roving's been my ru-i-n, I'll go no more a-roving with you fair maid"  It's not a clean song but its really funny.   :D

packaging tape...  with a design on it!  how cool is that?!  I've seen it at Michael's before, just never bought it.  I love it!

Crocheted music notes!  I'm going to take these to school and hang them somewhere in the classroom!

A knitted washcloth with music notes on it!  How amazing is that?!

Earrings!  I love earrings!  I have lots of them!  Are the animals llamas or alpacas???  My other guess was giraffes. ???

dipping chocolate....  time to break out the strawberries and pineapple!!

Matching earrings and pendant!  These are from my wist!  I love them!

Here comes the sun, do-n-doo-doo, here comes the sun, and I say, its all right...  She made me a music scarf with Here Comes the Sun on it!  My favorite song of ALL time!

Finally....  a record purse!  Amazing!  Sorry there's not a good shot of the fabric inside but that fabric is really awesome as well!  My students are going to get a kick out of it when I take it to school!   ;D

THanks so much sarahj!!!  You spoiled me!

6 skeins INSIDE you yarn ball?!? Amazing! I think they are giraffes, btw. You got off pretty good.

Slingmomma, I already feel spoiled. I still need to figure out some yarn to wrap your goodies in...
And I'm going to the Artfaire today! So excited! Who knows what nifty things I will find for you!

I can't believe that there was that much stuff in those yarn balls! That's awesome and so well made! I love those earrings too... I'm thinking giraffes?! And that scarf is awesome too!

That's so exciting! I have a huge list of things I want to make so I'm going to get them all going and see where I end up! And I just thought of a perfect way to add in the other themes with the theme I picked! Oh and I now have atleast a couple patterns picked out too!!!

That package is huge!! You were really spoiled.... Now I'm really regretting not participating this round... Oh well. There's always next time..

I'm going to give feedback sometime this weekend for those of you that have already sent and your partners received. Remember, you have to post pictures of what your partner sent you for them to receive feedback, so make sure you do it asap. My other swap is winding down, which means I'll be a lot more immediate when it comes to your guys and your feedback.

Just over a week left before send outs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Yes - I love the scarf...  Here Comes the Sun is my ALL time favorite song...  Its only taken me almost 27 years to find a favorite....  I'm a music teacher so finding a favorite song is like asking a chef to find a favorite recipe.  But yeah - she sent me an awesome package! Now I have to make her package awesome (talk about swap anxiety  ::))

I just wanted to show how big the ball was...lol  I swear every time I do one of these swaps the ball keeps getting bigger and bigger...

Ffrogg526, not sure if you realized it or not...but the yarn was all the yarn needed for that Stain Glass Afghan pattern.  :)

OK!!!  Yeah - totally didn't realize that!  But it makes sense now!  Thank you for telling me that!  :D

Yeah - it was quite huge...  a few times I just sat it down on the floor and pulled; letting the ball meander whichever way it pleased so I can unwind it.   :)

I'm finally getting around to posting the pictures from the wonderful yarn ball that yelutci sent me! I love the yarn so much.  I want about 8 more balls of it.

I didn't get a pic of the ball before :(  I couldn't find my camera and I couldn't wait.  It was neat though, she'd wrapped the big needles and the folder with the pattern in the ball too.

This is the folder she used to hold the patterns.  She made the rock, paper, scissors, lizard spock game onto a card to play! Its so fun.

and she included these stickers to help play the game...

And this is the pattern.  I'd said I wanted this one, and she included a whole bunch of examples!

This is the purse she sent -- it wasn't in the ball, but that's okay! its the fat bottomed bag, and I have meant to make this for myself for a while! Its even lined and has awesome buttons on it.  I love the colors!

lining

This is a shot of all of the supplies that were in the ball.  Each item was wrapped in tissue.

there's a broomstick lace pin, some knitting needles that will probably make a better pin, she said, some embroidery floss, buttons and iron on letters!

And here's all the crafted items

there's a bookmark and a some crocheted earrings and a TRIBBLE!!! in blue!
oh, except for these two items, which are totally my favorites
the star trek wash cloth:

and the earrings/stitch markers.  i'm totally using them for earrings (this was the best shot I could get, but they are not blurry in real life.  Promise)

And th is is the yarn! Isn't it great!

Thank you so much!! I hope to have your stuff finished in the next couple of days! :)

Everyone's loot is great so far! I've only just finished wrapping the ball, it's .. squatting on the floor.. and I'm afraid this doesn't really count as a yarn ball, more .. yarn-wrapped goodies.. I should have chosen another yarn for better coverage  :-\ ...

I'm amazed at the hugeness of the black ball.. and wow.. six skeins of yarn inside? And I thought I'd splashed out on goodies  ;D

Love the gamer themed package, too! Great pattern!

I'm super glad you liked your MYB glambastard!!!  I had tons of fun crafting to a zombie theme.  :D

I received my MYB today!!!!  It is awesome! :D  Glambastard went with my science (chemistry)/Star Trek theme!

Massive amount of pictures:

The MYBs before unraveling

Picture of everything

She painted two really awesome totes, knitted two Star Trek wash clothes that I have been wanting ever since I saw someone post one on Craftster, super cute stitch markers, reusable lunch napkins, magnets, a flying saucer amigurumi with two aliens inside, robot, rocket, Star Trek journal, two awesome necklaces, and a recipe/ingredients for make your own laundry detergent (I've been wanting to try this for a long time, so I'm super glad I have a recipe that has a personal testimony attached to it :) ).

Robot and rocket on top of the journal

Necklaces - I love both of them, I wore the mystery themed one today!  Glambastard found a super awesome pendant that fit one of my other themes, so she snuck it in.  :D

Tote bag + other awesomeness - two super cute erasers, a stress ball, and the necklaces

Star Trek dish clothes!!!!!

Flying saucer w/ aliens

Close-up of the super cute stitch markers

My favorite magnet - Data!!!

Adorable painted tote with the magnets, a super awesome pen, and a tin for the stitch markers

Glambastard sent a super cute pattern for a purse that I will definitely be making!  I LOVE the yarn.  It is an amazing green and super bulky (which I adore)!!!  She also sent a super cute pattern for a little robot!!!  I can't wait to make it.  She sent all the embellishments to make the robot.  I'm sure it is going to incredibly cute!

I received my Awesome package from Edie22 on Saturday. Wow do I feel spoiled, she made two MYBs one in my spring theme and one in my coffee/tea theme, out of the most beautiful eggplant colored wool.
She filled them with all kinds of goodies and treats!(oops the beautiful butterfly hair clip is missing-it's already holding my hair)

I adore the flower scarf! The colors are so vibrant, and pretty, just like all the great goodies she crocheted. She sewed the cutest tea wallet, and coffee coasters out of corresponding fabrics, as well as a zippered purple paisley pouch that is just the right size for hooks and scissors.
All the handmade beauties:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This is what came out of the box:

The (cat-approved) content of one MYB:
amethyst necklace & earrings (I love amethysts), beaded ankle bracelet, stitch markers, a notebook (which she actually made :o), MP3 player case, a gorgeous reusable bag, beads, zipper, ribbon, jewellery cord, seam ripper, vintage stamps, embroidery thread

Contents of 2nd MYB:
metal bookmark, adjustable ring, bracelet, prism, fabric, ribbon, beads (not in picture), lip balm, sewing scissors, chopsticks, mini alarm clock (so cute!), embroidery thread

She sent two! patterns:
a summer hat (grey yarn) and nesting bowls (purple yarns)

All the crafted items:
minus the prism, which was already hanging in my window

The other goodies:

Finally, everything together:
with an attention hungry cat holding the stamps and beads hostage

Thank you Lunanne, :-* I had so much fun swapping with you!!!

Everyone got so spoiled, I feel bad because I know I didn't spoil Slingmomma as much as she should have been. Gosh, I never spoil, I need to learn to spoil more. I can't wait for her to get it though!

Okay, so my swap anxiety is mounting now that I had real time to look through the gallery posts! I am sending tomorrow -- I went into the PO right before close to send today, stuffed the ball and patterns into a medium flat rate box, taped it up like the national secret, realized I forgot to put the note in (POO!) and then, when I went up to pay realized that I had left Tygermane's address home. Grrr. So tomorrow I will send. I feel like a dork, but hopefully she finds the wait worth it! I am excited to see more MYBs!

Rockon!

She was bought.  (I wish I could have made her!)  She was too adorable to pass up, especially since one of Bexxer's themes was Little Mermaid. ;D

i recently moved from "98028" to "98208" so i mix them up all the time.

usually they catch the mistake when they see the city name. I can call the kenmore PO if that is, indeed, where it wound up. bahhhhhh. SORRY KARIZMATIC!

OH, MY! GOODIES!!! I AM OVERWHELMED! 'just received my package and I actually managed to take pictures! It took me at least 1.5 hours to turn this...

into this...

!!!
This being my first Craftster swap and my second EVER swap (my only other swap before this was with Thing-A-Day - since we were swapping things we were already making for the sprint, we didn't really need to know our swap partner), I know it was a challenge to figure me out, but loudxmouse - SPOT ON! i love everthing in this package... thanks for bringing me christmas in May (my husband said, "it's like christmas, isn't it?")! (now i just hope you like what's in yours!)

onto the goods (sorry about all the pics! how else was i going to show you everything?) loudxmouse sent me a bike-themed yarn ball with a WHOLE LOTTA extras (and i can see where all your ideas came from!) and everything I need to make this awesome bike bag! (i'll be riding again starting next week and would love to be sporting this bag with me sometime soon!)

a bike-themed shirt, shoelaces (that i may not wear biking - too pretty and would get muddy in a hurry!) and the handles for my new bag (perfect for putting on the rack and then using it as a regular purse!)

supplies! knitting needles, stitch counter, stitch markers, decorative buttons, yarn spools (i use these a lot and these are much cuter than the ones i have), pink ribbon trim, and doll eyes (you must have seen the animals on my blog?!)

stitch markers (see the bike charm?!), and wooden gift tags - these are adorable!

rub-on letter transfers and raised stickers in my initial (and, incidentally, my daughter's initial, too, so i will need to hide these when she comes to visit)

super cute magnets (i saw you sneak a robot in there!)

a post-long bike ride first aid/spa kit, bag included(it's hidden), complete with a cupcake-shaped band aid (sorry, i didn't want to take it out of the package for the picture, but trust me, it's super cute)

post bike-ride-cleanup dazzlers: body spray, body sparkle, gems and beads (final sparkle function TBD :)

finally, some relaxessories (accessories for when i'm relaxing after cleaning myself up:) a steampunk ring, hand-spun necklace, bracelet and ANOTHER bike charm on a chain (I didn't realize how much I would, but I REALLY LOVE THE BIKE CHARMS)

THANKS AGAIN LOUDXMOUSE for being a great swap partner/mentor!

another oops! last night, i had to open this stuff in a hurry and go to bed early to take my husband to the airport at 4AM, so this morning, i went through it again to give myself more time to admire it and i realized that the bike-themed shirt is not actually shirt (anymore), but a bag! i was actually looking at it thinking i might turn it into a bag and when i picked it up to give it a closer look, i realized it already was! HAHAHA! loudxmouse - i think you read my mind before i even thought about it!

That's an awesome yarnball!  I love the initial rub-ons....  I wonder if I can find some with an R on them.   ???

sarahj - I'm glad you like everything.  I tried to come up with lots of pink goodness.  It was hard for me.   ;)  But I believe I acheived success!  And I'm glad the flamingo box made it to you.  When I was packing it I was so afraid that the flamingo head was going to break off during shipping.  But thankfully it got to you in one piece.  :D

For anyone that'd like to try the bag, it was in sarahj's wist and I got the pattern from Cut out + Keep.  Here's the link http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/youre_a_star_tool_bag (http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/youre_a_star_tool_bag).  The pattern called for the handle to be 5 stitches wide and that reall didn't seem wide enough for me so I made it 10 stitches wide.  I also made it just a touch longer than the pattern says to make it.  Making that bag was also the first time I'd ever felted anything...  Technically I think fulled would be the right word but...  whichever.  I"m just happy it worked!   :D

I received today from Tygermane! She sent me inspirational running stuff (on shrinky dinks I think, so cool), some purchased running stuff, spa socks for after my big run, three knitting patterns (super cute hats and a KINITTED granny square) plus a learn to crochet book/kit (complete with patterns and hooks!) so that I can learn to make granny squares. Also, some granny squares for inspiration.

I love my stuff, thank you! And thanks, tar for organizing -- you ran a super great swap!

Without further adieu, here are pics:

The ball (the man I am a live-in caretaker for, who has a developmental disability, was SUPER excited and helped me unwrap for TWO hours (with a short dinner break) he said it looked like a "comfy pillow"):

What is it? (at one point C said it might be hotdogs...lots of funny guesses!):

All my loot (including some granny squares - I LOVE granny squares- and the softest most comfy socks EVER :) :

The crafted running inspiration (Stitch markers -- runner and go, markers or earrings that say 26.2, LOTS of magnets -- runner girl, run, 26.2, etc.; I especially love the keychain that says "I run in marathons, what do you do?"):

The purchased running stuff (water bottle, a shoe bag that folds up into a little pouch, wrist sweat absorbers):

The learn to crotchet kit -- yeah!!!!

Post by: Tygermane on May 08, 2010 09:24:52 PM
I hope you liked the colors of the yarn.  I had a hard time picking them out.  they were all so soft and pretty.  I thought they'd make a beautiful granny square blanket for you.  I thought the orange/pumpkinish one would be great to connect  the squares that's why I didn't make it a granny square.

I got my package today to.  I just got a new camera (ok, my mom gave me her old one) and as soon as I figure out how to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer I will post pics.

Wow, Beefishie, you crocheted those purses fast! I tried to match the yarn to the FSU colors as best I could, I hope I did alright. The extra little red, blue, and white balls are for the Red Sox colors.

Here's a close-up of a few of the things I sent and the reverse side of the pencil pouch.

AND here is the fantastic MYB I received from Beefishie:

It arrived wrapped up in some beautiful fabric.

And here it is out of the fabric. Check out the cute headband! I love it. And the yarn is gorgeous!

I'll post more pictures later!

Great stuff!

Me, I'm gutted. I got a tracking number, tracked the parcel that I sent to baa-me-chick a couple of days ago and saw that the conveyor belt sorting system at the sorting station apparently read "Holland" for "Schottland, Großbritannien", because why else should it apparentyl have turned up in the Netherlands and couldn't be delivered there? !!!!!!! I've filed a search request, talked to a hotline person, and now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at some point an actual person is going to check my box and read the d**n address on it!!!! How am I to know that they'll turn Schottland (Scotland) into "Holland" with their blasted computerised system. I hate hate hate that this has happened.  >:( >:( >:( I hope it's just delayed. But it's been sitting in the netherlands for a week now! They told me on the hotline that I could still see whether it got moved with the tracking number. So far - same story. It's in the Netherlands.

Awesome packages!! I love the pig one and the bicycle one! Everyone has such great themes!

okay. FINALLY posting pics of the AMAZING yarnball that karizmatic sent me. This was her 1st swap and I have to say.... she kicked some major booty.

let there be pics!!!

1st of all, this  ball was HUGE, expecially for being made of DK weight yarn. how did you fit all this stuff in there?!
the yarn is from elann and the pattern is for a lovely, lace shell.

THREE balls of yarn later I finally unearth a bag of twizzlers. *phew* I take a break and watch law and order at this point.

if I had only waited I could have used this owl sleepmask to take a nap instead! hahah

a new yarn and some hair things... hmmm

OMG! butterfly hairbands! these will be perfect for me because my hair is longer than I like it and my cafe gets SO warm so I have been trying to pull it back and yet AVOID the dreaded ponytail. SO perfect. plus the decorations unclip from the band.

sock monKEYs from my wist and two fabric headbands (did you make these? they are lovely and soft)

SPATS. holllllly crap. I will try to take a picture of myself wearing them without looking like a goober. they are epic!

gummies (omg, japanese gummy candy is amazing. I ate the entire bag of mangosteen ones on a road trip and left little evidence wrappers all over my fiance's car!), union jack cup-cozy (i kept trying to figure out what body part this was for.... durrr) birdy headband! you can see here ow the embellishment is clipped to the headband so as to be multi-purpose clip/headband. GENIUS. copyright this right now kariz

MORE headband, MORE gummies!!!

in the very center was a very rattly little container full of some brittishy buttons and some lovely resin charm/pendants! yay!

Title: Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 13 Gallery
Post by: karizmatic on May 10, 2010 05:59:31 PM
so glad the package made it! (and i'm glad you liked the mangosteen gummies - thought i'd sneak in a less common flavor in your gummy stash :) alas, i did NOT craft those fabric headbands - actually bought them at one of those vendors at camden lock (hair AND british double-themed!).

i did make the spats (i used colors from the spats you wisted for inspiration - i would LOVE to see a pic on you!), the headband clips (and i'm sorry - it looks like the butterflies got shmushed! i was worried that might happened and tried my best to pad it during the raveling, but looks like it happened anyway), the cup cozy (that was my third attempt at cutting out the shapes for the 3 layers of color) and the eye mask.

thanks again for letting me stalk you, the great craft mentorship, and for being a good craft inspiration with your web presence (i will surely work on mine for my next swap:)

Another awesome Yarn ball! So many fun goodies inside! That owl sleep mask is really cute and an awesome idea!

I received my lovely Yarn Ball today from Jexxican!! OMG I seriously love everything that she included! She chose my Spring theme which actually meant that she could add in my frog and daisy theme into it!

This what I saw when I opened the box:

The lovely white handspun is for me to dye, the roving to learn to spin and the yummy handspun yarn as a treat! (She posted the yarn on Fiber Friday a little while ago and I told her that I loved it and would gladly take it ;) )

The lovely yarn ball! Definitely very Springy!!

This is just before reaching the center...

The lovely fibery goodness! The yarn she sent is super super soft, then the very pretty "Windflower" roving that I can't wait to learn how to spin into pretty yarn! I think all the yarn/fiber together even has a spring feeling! *in love" lol

The crafted goods! 3 daisy pens, they kind of got popped off on the tops but I have some floral tape to fix 'em! Some crochet flower hair clips, a crochet daisy headband and an awesome crochet frog!

The purchased goodies! Some spring themed foam stickers and ribbon (also fits in with my crafting theme) some cute little froggies and some flower shaped silicone cupcake cups! We make a lot of cupcakes so these will be used a lot!!

And because I am SOOOOOOO very excited about this item, it gets its own picture:

My first ever drop spindle! I am so incredibly excited to start spinning! I can't wait to *hopefully* make beautiful yarn like you one day!

And here are the awesome patterns:

Some cabled wrist warmers, and 2 lovely bags! I'm in love with the hobo one and the boucle bag looks like an awesome pattern too!!

Thank you so much Jexxican! I'm supposed to be making stuff for my sisters wedding tonight but it will be so hard not to search all over the web for spinning tutes! I hope you enjoy your yarn ball as much as I love mine!!

I got my ball! She went with my purple theme and sent LOTS of yarn. Oh my, what to do with it? She didn't get the patterns sent so I didn't get to crochet it out like I wanted to, but it was hard enough just unwrapping with my Alice all over it so I guess it's just as well. All I know is I'm not allowed to get any more yarn until I clear out some of my stash: I still have a bunch from the last MYB swap and I've been spinning like mad, on top of the 3 drawers I already had! Here's the loot:
Yarn:

Store bought goods: some envelope stickers with my initial on them, soem note cards and a matching magnetic note book, some crayons, and a little turtle (I think in honor of one of my MOHs?)

Also included that I didn't get photographed were a skirt for Alice and a shirt for Russ, both purple!
Handmade goodies: small candle (not pictured), journal, earrings, stitch markers, book marks, turtle embroidery, necklace, car, hair bows, soap, potholder, mini pincushion, and my favorite thing was the purple tree pendant! I love it! Sorry there's not a better shot of it but sorry, I'm lazy. I'm not sleeping much these days.

Thanks lady!

I'm so glad you liked it all!!! I did do the turtle goodies for your MOH's and the tree was included in those too! I tried to do as much "research" as possible! Oh and your kidlets got the top and little skirt because I work at Old Navy and I get an awesome discount!

Your patterns should be there soon! I think you will really enjoy them and they should take up atleast some of the yarn!

Teehee, it is a hook roll. I guess with the fabric all being the same the slots are a bit camouflaged lol. I look forward to seeing pics of your completed Elton!

Here's a couple of clearer pics of the loot:

I can't wait for your ball to get here! I feel like pouncing the postman everyday!!

BG sure was spoiled. Unicorns! What was your theme?

Who wants free handspun yarn?! The Sew mama sew blog is having a giveaway day and I didn't really get in on it, so I'm having my own unofficial giveaway at justsomeboobs.blogspot.com.

I received my MYB from rock on a while ago, but haven't had a chance to post it until now.  She picked 2 of my themes, Hello Kitty and Care bears.  I LOVE everything she sent, and so does my daughter!

On with the Pics!!!

Here it is in the box :)

Here are the patterns she sent me

Here is my little minion unwrapping the ball.  She had so much fun unwrapping while I wound the yarn

the first thing she came to!  A new crochet hook!!

It took us a while to unwrap everything so here's the group shot of everything!

Some care bear magnets and fabric

Some of the Hello kitty stuff she sent.  She made some ribbon book marks which I love and have them in a couple books right now

Here's some of the other stuff, she even made me a knitted hello kitty doll, which is so cute

And one of my favorites, a hello kitty wash cloth!

Thank you so much Rockon for everything.  We are going to enjoy it a lot!!

I've never really understood the whole Hello Kitty thing, but that was a pretty sweet ball. I really like the knit HK! Sometimes I wish I could knit, but then I regain consciousness.

I have a problem. Slingmomma sent me, in her awesome package, 4 balls of 4 strand yarn. 2 have purple purple  BLUE and brown, and the other 2 have purple purple PINK and brown. I started one of the patterns she sent me with the PINK and half way through the first ball the PINK turned WHITE. I switched ot he other ball, but now I'm almost done with it and I know I could finish with the rest of the WHITE ball, but I don't know if that would look funny. It's a bolero done in rounds and the last few round make it kind of frilly (!!!) so mostly if I did do it just the frills would be done with the WHITE. Any suggestions?

I still can't believe that darn yarn did that! I'm sorry about that! I think that if the the frills are in the white that it will look ok. It will almost seem like you did it on purpose!

So much awesomeness in one gallery!!!  MYBs are always just so fun and amazing!

I worked up the pattern that glambastard sent me last weekend:

I LOVE it.  You can't really tell in this picture, but the purse is huge and I love big bags.  I plan on lining it and adding a handle using black and white polka dot fabric, but with my wedding in one week and moving not too far after that I'm afraid that finishing the last bits of the purse probably won't happen too soon.  I WILL finish it though, it is far too cute not to.  Thanks glambastard for the awesome yarn and awesome pattern!!!  I am definitely planning on making the robot you sent me too, but again time is a little constrained right now......

That purse turned out really well zkatom. I started my Elton Sheep crochet pattern the other day and have unraveled it three timed due to ocd (the loops werent the right size) I took it with me to do while waiting for my xrays today and kept getting asked what I was knitting  ::)

Alright folks. I know we still got some packages out there, but let's see if we can wrap up what we can this week. I've done another round of feedback, please let me know if I screwed up again.

Looks like we might have need of an angel.. we'll have to wait and see, though. I'll keep you all updated as soon as I find out more.

i can be an angel, too! (it was fun crafting for a stranger!)

i'm super allergic to everything, too, if that helps (i'm allergic to and don't keep pets, shellfish, plants-mold-, eggplant or strawberries around the house and i run a vornado - but i DO eat almonds, pecans and walnuts regularly)

So here are some photos of the MYB and contents I sent to tcha345the theme off tcha345's list I chose was 'Asian Theme'

I didn't take photos of the patterns, oops, but they were from etsy and off tcha345's wist list, both dragons, one baby dragon and one asian dragon

the whole MYB I sent to tcha345..

The wool I sent to tcha345...I thought the sparkles would make a beautiful dragon, with either dragon pattern...I had already started to wrap the ball before remembering to take a photo of the wool too so only took photo of some of it...but shows the beautiful sparkles...the fluffy wool was for the asian dragon pattern, as it asked for it...

Two asian dolls I made (from tcha345's wist) for the asian theme

the dolls from the back

The bought things I put into MYB, Ninja styled russian doll set, fake sushi and chopsticks, sushi shaped erasers, one asian doll keyring, one asian doll phone decoration, special dragon/ying n yang pen, asian fan, treasure box filled with beads and punched out cardboard shapes, and a special trinket necklace from NZ of a taniwha (Maori dragon to go with dragon pen, stuffie and patterns)

Little Asian Dragon I made from front

from one side

and the other

Funny finger puppets I made for asian themed MYB, one farmer, one ninja, one lady and one sumo wrestler...they made me lol...

I also put in some mini envelopes and lollies in the wrapping phase...to give sustenance and explanation as the unwrapping occured (o=

Sorry to keep you in suspense! I just picked up the package from the PO today and pretty much ran home with it!

Bubblegum_phoenix went with my burlesque theme, and sent me a fantastic package.

My yarn ball! It was just a little smaller than a bowling ball. There's a cute green button marking the end of the yarn.

Some loot! (I took pictures of the unwrapping, but trust me, they were several in number, and you don't wanna deal with that loading time lol) Two button combs, some little jewellery charms, and two lovely pairs of earrings. They're sitting on a T-shirt that reads "Love"....unless you're looking in the mirror, then it says "Hate". You did a great job on this Bubblegum, it came out great!

A lovely ruffly scarf, some coasters and two sequinned combs.

Lipbalm and lipgloss in a fab colour, lemongrass soap, cocoa butter lotion (I loooove cocoa butter!), Tim Tams, which are like British Penguins, and a lovely crochet sleep mask with eyes!

A notebook, pasties (with all the sequins sewn on by hand! I am in awe of you!), false nails with lacy tips (very cute!) and circular needles.

The yarn and the pattern. It's pure wool and it smells like sheep! :D (I don't see many sheep living in the middle of London lol) I love the pattern, I told Bubblegum that I like bags with a fat bottom and she chose a fantastic pattern for me.

My favourite bits...

A necklace with a tiny corset pendant. How adorable is this?!

A NARWHAL! As soon as I realised what this was, I freaked lol. I am completely in love with him, but I haven't thought of a name for him yet. Any suggestions?

I also got a NZ postcard and a kiwi pen, but I didn't get pictures for them for some reason...
Thank you so much Bubblegum_phoenix! I think this has been my favourite ever swap, and I can't wait for the next round!

Post by: jexxican on May 24, 2010 03:09:43 PM
Pasties?! AHAHAHAHA! I love it. I would have loved to do a burlesque theme for someone. I did enjoy edoing the spring theme, though, don't worry Slingmomma. Man, I feel worse and worse about my choice of themes with each new MYB I see. I'm a loser.

Another round?! Not yet, I'm not ready! Maybe after my MAF swap is over with...

I am so so glad you liked everything. Phew. The wool can by dyed the green or yellow you want with food colouring. I tried finding coloured pure wool but they didnt have it in the amount needed (thats 400g of wool there people)
The ruffly scarf kind of reminded me of a feather boa  ;D and that "love" shirt almost made me cry. It took me ages to work out how to get it to look right (yes, I free handed it, only a smart person would make a stencil of the original  ::) )

Ok, Im up for another round  ;D (ps, theres a crochet vs knitters swap going on now if any ones keen...)

I received from baa-me-chick today! I had loads of fun unwrapping everything, especially since the lost parcel that I sent to her (the one that went to the Netherlands for some obscure reason only sorting computers can fathom) arrived in Scotland yesterday! Yay! So I didn't have to feel guilty and was free to appreciate all the nice stuff that she sent. She went with two of my themes, Britain and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You cannot go wrong with either of them, really... just walking into a store with touristy British items and picking things randomly will (almost) do  ;D ... and who can resist Buffy and her gang!

Anyway, here goes:

Everything in the box. She's even got a crafty swap lady business card!

The ball, the two patterns (one for the handspun used for the magic yarn ball, the other one for the other yummi yarn) and some extra yarn.

Closeup of the barn - LOVE the handspun! - with a pretty tartan ribbon

All the goodies from left to right: two nice balls of brown soft merino, some shortbread and Yorkshire boiled sweets, the British/Scottish good stuff (keychains, Edinburgh castle coaster, tartan ribbon, iron on Scottie (yay), a funky green pen on a stand with a little highland cow on top, two cute Westhighland White Terrier buttons, a bracelet with shrinky charms, handmade soaps with thistle and celtic knot pattern, a ... mystery item with a shrinky charm of a highland cow), Buffy goodies (fridge magnets with pictures, crochet and knitting stitch markers that spell B U F F Y and S L A Y E R, a little blank book "Buffy forever"  :D), the two balls of yarn for the two patterns (a cowl pattern for the handspun, a scarflette crochet pattern for the mirage yarn)

Some closeups:

mystery item (shawl closure thingie?)

stitch markers:

very cool British bracelet:

fridge magnets:

notebook:

handmade soaps:

closeup of the yarn for the crochet pattern:

Thanks baa-me-chick - I loved your MYB package!! I hope you'll have fun unpacking, too (last I heard she waited for a new camera before unwinding the ball.. )!

It's official, we need an angel. I -just- got to my destination after a long day of dealing with airlines. A 2.5 hour flight turned into 8 hours on a very crowded plane. Jexican offered to angel first, so unless she can't manage it, it's her's. I'll send the info out tomorrow after I get some rest..

Bride Sheep

Sheepy in a snowstorm......... ;D

Little sheepy cup........soooo sweet!

I so envy sarantha for her knitting skills for this bag ;)

There was also a little wind-up chicken, a frog plant marker, a pencil topped with a sheep, stickers with sheep, some pretty handyed roving, a totebag with sheep on it & a little stuffed sheep. Ooh, and some pretty wooden buttons ;D

I have received from the lovely Angel Jexxican huzzah!  Thank you Jexxican you are awesome and I love my MYB and pattern too...I have taken photos but I am on a different computer and cannot figure out (have spent last hour trying to do it myself) how to resize the images so that they are less than 2megabites or whathaveyou so that I can upload them...sorry...(my computer is a little out of action until I get a new bit as my puppy leaped on it but accident...ooops...normally I would use paintshoppro but it is not on this computer...so anyway I will find out later from the owner of this computer how I can make the photos smaller and then do it asap so that I can show you all the goodies...so many lovely things!  And an adorable unicorn pattern too...thank you again Jexxican you are awesome! And our fearless leader in finding me Jexxican...thank you too!

Yes, she is a fearless leader. I've been told I can be quite intimidating. I'm sure she had to get over her own anxiety and fears before she could approach me. HAHAHA!

Horay, so I have finally figured out how to shrink the photos, so here they are...on a side note I didn't mean you were scary Jexxican...lol...be prepared for photo overload (o=

The gorgeous MYB and mini MYB in the box (look how patient I was...and prepared...ooo...er...an actual photo of it as I was opening the box...lol

The beautiful dragon egg hidden inside the gorgeous hand spun yarn...which is a beautiful foresty green...absolutely delightful!

The MYB after the outer layer of soft and fluffy wool had been wound off...and my puppy watching the progress...he was as excited as I was (o=

The super cool framing for the altered puzzle before I found all the pieces tucked inside the ball...

The awesome altered jigsaw so cool...yes at the time the photo was taken two pieces were missing...but I have since found them...they had fallen out and I hadn't seen them...so found them tucked into the couch (o= lol...they were dragon scales in green...oh and the little mermaid is pictured here too

Wow~eh...super brilliant crochet owl, the top layer of fluffy wool I told you about, the stitch markers, some of the gorgeous ribbon and some of the puzzle pieces oh and the awesome owl stamp...I love stamps (o=

A close-up of the super cute crochet owl Jexxican made

A close-up pf the brilliant stitch markers, a faerie, two different types of dragons and an owl...awesome!

The most awesome stickers...love the fabulous dragon and the castle and the gorgeous owls too...brilliant

The knights in shining armor and in the next photo another shining knight and a catapult and a dragon! Ha!

And last but definitely not least the fabulous owl and faerie pendants...I am super anxious to make something awesome with them...will have to see what I can do...I absolutely adore the faerie pendant especially and oooed and aahhhed when it came out (o=

oh and okay for some bizzaro reason the computer doesn't like my photo of the three bundles of blue yarn that was in the middle (two the same as the light blue wool that the MYB was done in and one dark blue) to make my unicorn...the gorgeous pattern that came with the MYB...sorry haven't printed it yet so have no photo...but it is very cute and doubles as a door stopper...cool eh...

Thank you Thank you Thank you Jexxican for sending a lovely MYB and for being an awesome angel!!!

Here is the full puzzle. I like it. The border part is what my husband was saying didn't suck as much as he thought it would. He didn't think I was going to make it look all grimy like what I imaging real castle walls would look like. He also thought I would just use a Sharpie on for the black lines. Whatever, man. I'm proud of it. I'm glad Sam liked it all!

I'm so glad everything worked out in the end! Jexxican, you did an awesome job as Angel. Thank you for responding so quickly!

I'm sorry that we had to get you an angel, Foxy Sam, and I'm very thankful at how you handled the whole situation. Not everyone reacts as calmly as you did when its discovered their partner has gone MIA. Thank you again for being such an awesome swapper.

Thank you to everyone for being such awesome swappers!! Aside from this one little hook up, as well as some issues with the ash, this swap has been relatively stress free. Just how swaps should be. Real life has reared its ugly head and so I'm going to be taking a break from organizing for a bit, but I know I'll be seeing you all in other swaps! So yeah. Thanks again everyone.. and happy swapping!!
