Details of swap:

Today is the first day of spring and that means it's time to start gardening!  But what do you do if you can't find your gardening gloves?  Or if you've got several opened packets of seeds that you don't have a place to keep without them spilling together?  What if you've always wanted a gathering basket or a gardening apron?  Well, this swap can help you get all those crafty garden things!

Crafting Requirements:

The requirement for this swap is 5 points, which will translate to one medium and three smalls OR two mediums and one small (you'll need to discuss which with your partner!).

For those who need a refresher, here's the Craftster guide to what constitutes each size:

By Time

-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Small = 2 or less hours

By Size
-Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

By Price
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less

Communication Requirements:

Checking in on the swap thread at least once a week is required so we know you're still around and crafting!  A quick note saying that you're still working is sufficient.  Also, communicating with your partner is also a necessity.  If you have consistent (and recent) dings on feedback for poor communication or sending late, I may not approve your application.  I will also note communication in feedback!

DCN are required for US swappers sending to partners in the US.  International swappers must keep the receipt.  :)

mailing starts:
1) wrap the plant roots in damp newspapers with the foliage sticking out the top.
2) fold up the bottom of the newspaper, careful not to get the leaves wet as they will rot.
3) wrap the wet newspaper in a plastic bag (like the kind you put your veggies in at the store).  DO NOT TAPE THE BAG SHUT.  the roots need oxygen!  just twist the bag loosely shut.
4) Then put them in at least 3 (I like to use 5, any less than three will dehydrate the plants) normal plastic grocery sacks, each time covering the open end of the sack with the bottom of the next.  you can but several plants in the same sack for the layering of sacks (make sure the roots are all faced the same direction).
5) then place the entire package into a box and mail.  make sure you do priority mailing as the plants cannot survive more than a few days in a box like this.

you may consider mailing the plants separate from everything else so it doesnt get crushed.

i hope this helps someone!

Oooh this looks like such fun- but packages take SOOOOO long to swap from South Africa! I would also be limited to lightweight items........
Will have to think about this one carefully. But I WANT to do it!!

Title: Re: How My Garden Grows Swap
Post by: Onyxnox on March 21, 2010 05:39:45 AM
If I mail some plants it would be things like dahlia corms or my iris rhizomes, so they don't have to be wet wet wet.  But I could do decorated things like pots, bags, suncatchers, etc.

Could we have it that if plants are agreed to be sent, they be sent separately and possibly later, because May 8th would still probably be before I would dig up some things and split them?  It is not unusual for my region to have that last dumping of snow in late April, early May at times, and sometimes temps still drop down to 0C or close to it in May.

Don't forget also maybe things like decorated glasses, cutlery, or plates for enjoying parties out in the garden ;D

Lovely swap idea - I'm in - questionnaire sent.

I won't be sending plants or bulbs ...maybe some seeds...and have lots of other ideas!!

Thanks for organising  ;D

Craftrica - want me to put a note that we have a potential S.African swapper and if any other S. Africans are interested to PM me?

Onyxnox - Yes, I think that'd be fine, so long as your partner agreed.  I'd think a plant would count for a small, though, if that would be okay.   (Hmm, feedback may be changed, if the second package doesn't make it - or maybe just delayed?  We can discuss if it becomes necessary! :D)

holistic knitter - woo hoo!  Glad you can make it. :D  I've put up a call out for other UK and European swappers for you. :)

If it helps some people, maybe people should also mention if they have sun/shade/part sun/shade, what type of soil they have (clay, sandy, etc), and anything else that could be a factor.

There must be some previous garden swaps we could link up as examples? (so I can browse them instead of folding laundry....)

I'm still planning to do this swap.  I've just been involved elsewhere for the last couple of days.

Had to celebrate my seventeenth anniversary!  I never thought we'd come this far together, so we did it up yesterday.

I'll be back with my questionnaire.

My favorite summertime activity besides camping is gardening.  I am a veggie gardener.  I LOVE to grow food.  I will not be mailing any plants either, but maybe seeds.  We'll see.

Ok, off to fill the questionnaire.

Well, you can knit/crochet an apron, or a gathering bag, or stencil a bag/apron/pots, give directions on how to make jams/jellies, other recipes, seed packets ... something garden inspired, rather than necessarily for the garden ... :D

I've had my eye on this swap and I had to join!  Besides, I figured you could use another Canadian!  I'm new to gardening, but I am loving it, and can't wait to start planting!  Also, we built our house in the late fall and we don't have any lawn, so I am dying for some green.  On the plus side, I don't have to dig up any grass to make flowerbeds or a garden!

My work is closing, though, in like 2 min. so I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to fill out the questionnaire... I haven't swapped in ages and I'm so excited!! **squee!!**  :D

Anyhoodle, if you've sent in the questionnaire and have NOT received a reply email from me welcoming you to the swap, please PM me.  (Also, check to make sure you're listed on the first page!)

Additionally, we're looking for a UK swapper AND a Swiss swapper.  Spread the word!

(On a side note, I scored some free herb seeds at a festival I went to today!  Yay!)

Korok is the name of the alien bad guy in that book... I just finished reading it last week so the name was fresh on my mind. Guess its just coincidence! It's a great book, though- really funny. You know, the type that makes you giggle in public and everyone thinks you're crazy...  :D Probably doesn't help when there's a severed arm on the book's cover.

Kaz- glad you're feeling better!

Korok has to do with my last name, but always happy to hear about a new book/author!

And I also can't wait for partners!  I wish it was gardening time here, but we've got another month and a half or so before we can safely put anything into the ground.  I did see my iris starting to poke through the ground during a warm spell a week and a half ago, but the weather has turned cold again.  I am dreaming and planning though!  And this is probably a good time for a swap, since I am so eager to put anything into the ground here, once it's warm enough I'll be putting crafting on hold for a bit.

:) I was just in the garden this afternoon removing the leaves off the mulch and putting up the fence to coral the blind dog so he stays out of the garden.

So jealous!  It''s supposed to be nicer the rest of this week, but it's chilly still today.  Hopefully my seeds like the warmer weather that's coming.  My tomatoes aren't yet sprouting, which concerns me (planted them a week ago Sunday).

I'll start putting stuff outside on Monday.  The "rule" around here is nothing in the ground till after Easter.  I hope last Fri. night was our last frost.

Will be hardening off the plants in containers throughout this week.

Friend's son is coming to till 2 patches for me on, hopefully, Monday.  I'm a big fan of no till, but the condition of the ground in the yard of this little rental house is absolutely scary with roots and debris.  I need to till this first time (even though I don't like it).

I am fighting a losing battle with slugs.  There are a bazillion of them in my yard.  Slimy little gluttons.  They are everyfreakinwhere!

I so wish I could have backyard chickens.  *sigh*

Can anyone recommend a FREE cheat for bean stakes and tomato cages?  Something that'll hold up under severe afternoon thunderstorms and winds.

No help with cages, but in the next couple of days I'll try to get a picture of my ghettotastic bean stake, though I have a feeling you won't want to do that, but maybe it will give you ideas and provide a good laugh or rolly eyes for you. haha

Oh honey, my garden is soooo ghettotastic!  I've been collecting trash tires put out to the curb on my block in order to have a stack for growing potatoes.  And, every single one of my plant pots were freebies gleaned from trash piles at the curb around town the past couple of summers.  I had a few others, but they got destroyed when trees came down during the ice storm last year.  I can't wait to see your funky bean MacGyvering! :)

Manage to get a picture just now.  Yes, a headboard.  It worked great last year.  Got it from Goodwill.  That colorful stuff hanging from the shepherds hook are melted plastic bead ornaments.  I used to hang them from a dead tree, but the owners have since had it cut down, so now they are on the little shepherds hook.

Different laws in different states.  Kiddo and I are considering doing pumpkins and watermelons in back this year.  I know we'll end up with more than we need even with planning to give many to friends (hope to have enough to let friends' kids come and pick one each this fall).  My landlord is an ag teacher, and this afternoon I asked him what the laws are for selling farm/garden excess in our state (permit or no permit, limit or no limit), and he said, "Just sale 'em."  So, maybe that'll be $3 here and there as the melons and pumpkins ripen.  Maybe I'll end up with a tank of gas worth or so out of this!

So, I've got at least 2 months before anything starts producing in unmanageable amounts, and I've started putting out the word to friends that I'm looking for a pressure canner.  Surely, someone knows a little old lady who doesn't put up canned produce anymore and has a canner taking up space in her cabinets and would gladly part with it for a low price.  I'm offering around $20 (the price variable is how many accessories it comes with) or bartering for a hand crocheted afghan (made from my yarn stash).  Help me put up my veggies this summer, and I'll help you stay warm this winter. ;)

I'm a big fan of the "put out the word" method.  I even read it formally described in Tightwad Gazette.  In my primary circle (close friends) and secondary circle (their friends and family), there's a certain flow of items --- share, barter, handmedowns.  I know I gladly let go of things I can spare when someone else can get good use of them.  A pressure canner may be asking a lot and may not pan out in the end, but it doesn't hurt to ask!  Freecycle in my immediate area has become rather pathetic and unreasonable, so that is, sadly, not an option.

Too bad I can't summon up an upright freezer....

Aiki- I know exactly what you mean about the "flow of items"- our family and friends are constantly passing things along when they're no longer needed or wanted. There's always someone that can use it! The hierarchy goes: family & friends, charity donations, recycling... and if it must be chucked, well, sometimes its just going to end up in the trash.

cheers to a fellow bookworm, btw!  ;)

We have several cattle panels that we had used as a fence around our backyard at our previous residence- I was thinking they might make a great trellis substitute. I could even pretty it up by painting it and maybe wiring some nice glass beads here and there... Ahh... Inspiration!

I want to put glass beads around mine in spots.

I really really want to learn to can this year but also need the equipment.  My Freecycle is also pathetic.  I live in the county north of Milwaukee County where the states largest city is and they won't let you join unless you live in Milwaukee and I don't so that cuts off most opportunities to get stuff.  Getting rid of stuff is easy, just not getting.  Speaking of which, I think I'll make another pathetic attempt at getting a canning set on freecycle.

Have you guys tried looking on Craigs list?  Or sometimes you can get great deals on ebay...look for sellers in your area, and you can generally go pick it up, and not have to pay any shipping.

Word of mouth is awesome!  I was talking at my spinning group last friday about how I need a new bike, and I'd really like one of those trike kinds, with the huge basket in back (yep, I'm a dork).  Well, one of the ladies has one of those bikes sitting in her garage unused, and she says I can come over and get it!!!  I was thinking I'd have to save up the 250 bucks to buy one!

This is how I'm doing my beans this year:

My son is really excited to get a bean teepee!

Hello everyone!  I just joined and let me tell you, I am very excited for this swap and for the 2010 garden season!  It's been warm and glorious here in Minnesota (this March was the first March without any snow since record keeping began in 1891!) and I've started my pepper and eggplant seeds in starter pots (we have a newspaper pot maker and it's so great to have recycled and free starter pots).  We can't plant in the ground until around Memorial Day, so I still have quite a bit of time until then.  I'm hoping to get my tomato seeds (SO and I are tomato obsessed and attempting to grow 12 or 13 varieties this year!) and other things planted in starter pots this weekend.

I'm getting impatient, but it's going to be a great growing season.  It's only our third garden, but each year it gets better and we have more fun with it.  I can't wait to find out who will be my partner, and to see all the amazing things we all craft up for gardening!

Wisconsin unfortunately did have some snow in March, but this March has been waaaayyyy better than previous years (knocks on wood that spring will continue and not revert back to winter like usual).

We too are not supposed to plant in the ground until memorial day and I am also a major tomato junkie.  I always plant a minimum of 10 tomato plants.  I have already planted my lettuce in the ground because I HAD to plant something.  I have some onions and scallions growing that apparently didn't grow last year.  That is a nice surprise.  God I love gardening.

I made a "trellis" last year out of a few scraps of wood I had lying about (I knew there was a reason I'd kept them for three years in the corner of my living room) and some yarn.

Link to my blog with a picture of the trellis (http://bunny-chick.blogspot.com/2009/06/forgive-me-blog-for-i-have-neglected.html).  It worked pretty nicely for the sunflowers, the cucumbers and the beans, so I plan to put it into use for peas and beans this year.

Aww, thank you!  We actually have an equal number of Canadian swappers, so I'm hoping to keep (almost) everyone shipping within their own country ...

Any Americans willing to round robin or have two partners?  Or another American who wants to sign up?  We're at 17 swappers, and I'd love volunteers for one or the other!

And I even was in the yard this weekend cleaning up he last of the fall leaves. I have been shoving them in places I want to kill and prevent weeds. I left my Strawberry pot out on the pourch over the winter and it broke :( but it broke in a nice way and is now being buryed in the garden so you can't see the Brakes. I guess that the brakes.  Hubby mowed. and we took the Wheel barel to the tire store to put the tires back on the rim. I am so happy to get into the Garden. I need to clean my fairies, angles, gnomes, and all my friends who are in my Garden. Spring has Sprung.

We had some issues with our neighbour, an elderly lady, and I didn't feel like fighting for my garden. But this swap gave me the "strength" to say "yes, I can!!". I don't care about her anymore and I won't let her ruin my pleasure for gardening, yay!  :D
I'll grow some strawberries, bring my herbs outside and I'll maybe plant some raspberries. I'm thinking about potatoes, chili peppers and tomatoes, too. We will see...

I have figured out multiple smalls for my partner but haven't had a medium or large idea grab me, yet.  Hmmmm.... OK, maybe 1 medium.  But, I'm still waiting for inspiration.  The smalls are cute, though, and I'm satisfied with how they're going.

I've been working on compiling something for my lovely partner.  Now I just need to figure out how to present it.  I might have to venture into a new craft!  Eeep!

Hit paydirt (pun intended) on a 40lb. bag of potting soil at the grocery store where I pay my gas bill.  Hoodyhoo!

I have figured out the medium for my partner.  Should be able to knock it out this weekend.  The base is simple.  I just have to figure out the adornment.  Also have 4 smalls figured out (1 is rather tiny).

It POURED here last night.  We had flash flooding and road closures.  There was also some wind damage in the area.  No working in the backyard today.  :(  I'm even going to pull on my rubber boots to walk out back to hang a load of laundry. LOL

It's SNOWING here!!  We're supposed to get up to 10cm today!!  But then it's supposed to be 14 degrees Saturday...  I'm happy I didn't sow any seeds outside.

I went to one of my favourite supply stores today because I needed a little something or one of my projects. First of all, I saw that they are closing their doors forever by end of April.  :'(
But then I realized that they had 50 % on EVERYTHING!!!  ;D Oh my gosh.... I bought so many great supplies!!!  YAY! Poor boyfriend had to be patient for over one hour instead of the five minutes I thought it would take me to go in there.  ::)
I'm still sitting here, admiring all the beautiful things that are all mine now...  :) Kaz, I'm sure you will love what I'll make for you because I have the perfect stuff now! And I found a little extra that matches your taste exactly!  :D

Heads up: there are some cute garden-y things at Target in the Dollar Spot right now!

I have my projects planned and will start crafting soon- probably in the evenings since I seem to be busy during the day. My husband's family just sold the old house we moved out of (it was a dump! I'm shocked anyone wanted it, but I believe they're getting it dirt cheap  ::) ) but now we're under huge pressure to get all of our personal belonging out by the end of the week or it all gets hauled off to the dump! And of course then I have to go to work each night.

The beds have been put on temporary hold with us being so busy  :'( , so I guess all this crafting is going to be my unwind each night!

I am irked.  I needed some supplies and the hardware store near work was suppose to have some of them.  When I went there after work the other day, they had NOTHING.  Also, the staff were useless - nonexistent in fact.  Every time I headed towards one, they literally went the other way.  Hopefully I can find what I need next week after work.

I have a loose plan, but until I start I won't know which item (1 or maybe 2 of them) turn out to be mediums.  I have a definite small planned.  I still need some supplies, and I know that May 8 will come fast!

On a gardening note: Our builder is having our final grading and topsoil added to our property!  I get to tell him where the flowerbeds and garden will go and where not to plant grass seed.  Then planting in about a month! Very exciting!!!  And I brought some plants from our old property, not much, but the iris is coming up, as are my bergamot and some ground covers.  Yay!

Oooh!  I need to craft today ... then again, I also need to clean.  :-|  I'm going back to work on Monday after Spring Break so I think cleaning may take precedence (booo), but I should have time to do the one thing I have in mind that requires my sewing machine. :D  I might even begin the small.  Still figuring out how I want to do the other medium.  It's all compiled, but I need to decide how I want to put it all together.  I'm a bit nervous about this new craft I may do.

I wish I could craft outside, but my garden is on my teensy porch, and there's not enough room out there for the containers and me, really.  My beans are all coming up, though, and my tomato plant has a flower!  We'll see how that goes.  Everything except the eggplant has sprouted - now I just need to make sure to bring it all in when it gets chilly at night!

Yep, we've got a couple places around town that are notorious for being understaffed, and their customer service is decidedly apathetic. Seriously, if I were a dishonest person I could probably stroll out of there with an armload of unpaid merch. and no one would care. Very annoying.

I've started one of the bigger projects- something I've never tried before so I'm really excited to see the results!

I'm hitching to continue my first item, but I need to finish a tee (soon, soon!)
I also went to a natural store for *something* and the elder woman looked at me weirdly to ask for something :-\
I'm scarred I'll need to walk to the bio food coop sometime next week.

There's one hardware store next to the walmart were staff is never seen. Even at the cutting dep  ???
But then downtown there's one which is over-staffed and very very friendly. Pretty weird actually...Smilling teens, while working??

I just got home for the Salvation Army and found a pair of _____ to make a _____.  The idea is based on Maman's wishlist but with the inspiration of a pattern I saw recently, I'm going to put a little twist on it.  I hope it turns out!

Flipping through a book, I saw a photo of a neat _____.  I was thinking of making it but didn't have the supplies...  But what do you know?  I came a cross some ______ in the craft section and it just may work!

I can't wait to put the kids down for their nap and get started!

I finished one of the mediums and I'm pleased with it. I think I'll be making one of those for myself, too. :) And I'm even half way done with my second medium! YAY!
The small is a bit difficult... I tried to work on it Saturday, but it didn't work the way I thought it would.. Ah well, I'll have to re-plan it.

Hmm, they might know at the hardware store.  Or, if you want to know ahead of time what you're shopping for, maybe ask pinokeeo?  She seems to know a lot about wood and such!

I created a small today, based on a recipe I found on the internet.  I ended up changing the formula midway through because it didn't have the consistency I was hoping for.  Hopefully it will work because I used the last of two of the ingredients.

I also made some progress with the medium this weekend, the one with the little twist.  I did some fabric shopping for a part of it but nothing really caught my eye so I'll just use fabric from my stash.

Otherwise, I have a couple of extras that I've gathered and maybe a third if it gets packaged well enough.  I'm not sure how much spoiling I can do as there is still the Frugal Swap packaged that needs to be finished.  I can't believe we are nearing the end of the month!

Wood sealers are tricky you want one that will be tolerant of UV.  any harewear store should beable to help you find one.
I have started working some on this swap. With my ADHD i do three projects at the same time I do some sewing on one then wonder over to the hot glue gun for a diffrant one, then sit at my computer and work on yet another while checking my Farmville. (and yes I am that bad) My husband thinks it is funny. But I have my list and I am goal orianted so I can't forget anything. If I am out and get an Idea I either text it to my email or I put in in the Notes of my Cell phone.
The weather here has been great I think I will put panseys in this week into my pole of pots. and sprend some seeds in the herb garden. my mint and sage look great and the Italian oregino and tyme arent that bad either, My the hostas are almost compleetly up. and the Purple cone flower is looking good so far.   Now I just need to land scap for a pool and fire pit by mid may and I'm all set.

Hello everyone.  I've been a little too busy with gardening to craft much so far, but this weekend looks like it's going to be rainy so I will finally be able to get to it.  I know I'll send on time, but every day that it has been sunny and beautiful out, it's hard to motivate myself to craft indoors and neglect the seeding and raking and transplanting I have been doing.

Happy crafting and gardening!

I'm all for an extension, just mostly because it is usually impossible for me to get to the post office during the work week. The only late night post office is quite a drive, and I hate that drive (driving in downtown Boston=chaos!). My little post office 2 blocks away closes at 5, and I can't usually get there.
Jeez I am chatty today. Extension-Yay.

Onyxnox- I observed a moment of silence for your peony.  :'(

My post office isn't open on Saturdays so extending to Monday would be great.  Otherwise, I could just send on the 7th.

I can't wait to see what awesome stuff everyone receives!  And I plan on sewing this weekend.

Hmmmm - I may still end up sending a bit late.  I think I have to reconfigure one project completely, and that is the period where I work the entire weekend and part of the beginning of the week, nightshifts, so unless I send early, I will have to send Wednesday morning.

Ooh! Gallery time already? How exciting!

Extension 'til May 10th is also exciting! I have an elderly relative that was admitted to the hospital yesterday, and we're not sure how long she'll be there. Oddly enough, the last time she was in the hospital I was in the middle of a swap. But I don't think it will run me behind- I might even have time for and extra item or two!

ETA: I even finished the sewing for that medium!  Woot.  One to go!

I think I may have to acknowledge that my bigger item blew goats in the end and will have to be set aside.  It started out well, and the concept was sound.  My skills however are lacking.  So I worked out something else to make and will be making it later this week.  Otherwise, I am done a few small items, and have a couple of mediums partway done.

and I'm cheating, too :D My FIL has this huge greenhouse for starting his plants (a great variety of vedgies I've helped for that too today) so they'll grow in no time :)

Thanks to starting to swap last year, there is a clutter of empty cardboard boxes scattered around just waiting to be filled with swappy goodness.

It's true - I think he doesn't want to ask because the answer will likely just confuse him more.  He keeps eyeing the box of odd tea cups and saucers on the stairs, and the shrunken sweaters sitting on top of the case of water in the laundry room.  But is choosing to stay quiet.....

I'm checking in- haven't had much internet access in the last few days so I thought I should take the chance while I had it. I'm working extra hours today so I'll have 4 hours to sit around the staffroom inbetween shifts and I brought one of my items to work on!

A gift for mamantattoo was made in its entirety this afternoon while the kids napped and I came across an idea for a small yesterday while reading a book!  I'll have to go buy some vodka (don't worry maman, it's not for edible purposes, I know you're pregnant)...

Otherwise, I have my medium to finish up and then I'll have 6 points worth of crafted gifts.  There are a whole slew of extras that I'd like to add to the package so I'll need to filter those ideas...

Checking in.

Computer up and down due to waves of thunderstorms.

Back to container gardening *sigh*. Best friend's husband came over to till my garden plots and ruptured a gas line in my backyard.  No big boom, thank God, but an unpleasant adventure, nonetheless.  Turns out, it was an obsolete pipe (the gas company didn't even know any of those were still in place), 1/2" PVC from the 1960's and only 3-4" deep!  Supposed to be a more flexible piping, at least 3/4" diameter, and and 16" deep.   Gas company will dig up my yard and my landlord's yard in a few weeks to replace pipes.  Would destroy any garden I put in the ground. :(  So, I'm radically overhauling my plans and saving back lots of seeds for next year.  *sigh*

Aiki- I'm so sorry about your yard!

Maybe take pics of any plants that would be destroyed if you can't move them.  I planted a Japanese Kerria the year the gas company had to tear up part of my yard to put in a gas line, and I found out later I could have had them replace it (and I should have, they screwed up on a basic thing when replacing the furnace too and I had a pest invasion that fall, as well as losing my brand new shrub).

Gas company will dig up my yard and my landlord's yard in a few weeks to replace pipes.  Would destroy any garden I put in the ground. :(  So, I'm radically overhauling my plans and saving back lots of seeds for next year.  *sigh*

I must learn patience :(

I made up my last craft this morning and it has to dry and cure...  then one of DH's work partners told me that I probably could move it this afternoon, and when I picked up one of the pieces, it promptly fell apart :(

So I will wait for the rest and hope they do not break.  This is the first time I am working with this material, so let's all keep our fingers crossed.

So if this first try works out, I will be sending next week.  If not, I was given tips on how to make it better, and will try again.

I am not a garden person but have learned about a lot of it with this swap and understand why Mom says it is so relaxing but I hate to get my hands dirty so it is hard  :-\ but I like flower gardens so this will be so fun to help my mom with and help her grow...

I will be sending today!

I had to remake one of the gifts, but I am so happy they discolored the first time because I think they are WAY better and more garden-themed now!

Another of the gifts will not make it at all which I'm bummed about but I thought of an extra - that I technically did put work into - that could make for a good replacement if I can figure out how to package it.

Hopefully everything reaches you safely Maman!

I know - I was sure I would be spending a ton on postage it was so heavy!  I was shocked at how (relatively) little it cost compared to my expectations!

In case anyone was wondering, I was stupid enough to send something concrete through the mail!

Thanks.  It's starting to feel better, but this splint kinda gets in the way.

Life can kind of suck that way, can't it?  Whatever is going on, I hope things settle down for you soon, and can't wait to see your pics.

I had a short look after my garden today and detected some ugly little bugs, chewing on my raspberries! Eeep!!  :-[
I don't know what they are called in English. A direct translation from German would be "raspberry Beetle".... Then I remembered that kaz sent me a recipe to kill bugs made of water, liquid soap and chili. I tried it out immediately! Let's hope that they really don't like it....  :-\

Okay, I've done a round of feedback.  If you've sent and your partner has received, you have feedback!  I know there are two packages that the PO says have been delivered, but I'm waiting on confirmation from the receiving partner.

If you've gotten feedback but have not yet gotten a package, have no fear! I have not forgotten you.

We may need a couple swap angels - any potential takers?  Both swappers who would potentially need angels live in the US.  Please PM me if you're interested so if necessary, these awesome swappers don't need to wait too long to get their angel packages!

:) Thanks!
