Title: the tenth doctor - gone but not forgotten!
Post by: maximumRABBIT on March 13, 2010 01:53:44 PM
i'm still on a mad cross-stitchin' frenzy - so did this little piece for my Doctor Who crazy boy

i've worked this on really large aida - 8 hpi - i love to work on this stuff as you get a big image fast and as i'm using my own simple designs if i worked them on 14ct the designs would be tiny.

more WIP pics on my blog.

Holy crap, I love it! The hair is fantastic and I think the nose is great. I love working on the larger aida also.

Awesome!  The hair is perfect--as soon as I saw the thumbnail, without reading your thread title, I knew it was the Doctor.  ;D

finished and framed!

and now hanging up on the boys wall :o)

if i did it again i'd change a few little details,
the half cross stitch on the nose i'd just do a quarter stitch and back stitch the slope also i'd use a larger piece of aida and do more shirt and maybe jacket.

all in all i'm pleased with it but better still my boy loves it :o)

we are all looking forward to watching Matt Smith as the eleventh Doctor at Easter - i think even my daughter who has said she'll never watch it again without David Tennant as the Doctor!
They showed the trailer in 3D at the Alice movie it looked AMAZING.

Glorious homage to the Doctor!  He is the 1st one I've been excited for.  The others were just PBS specials.  We all hope for the best, now don't we?!
Great stitching, too! :)

Whee! Love it!

I adore the style of the pic, it reminds me of the Monkey Island games which makes me double happy.
