Title: New Scarves I Made
Post by: angelofmusic on March 05, 2010 10:07:21 PM
I bought a knitting machine awhile back (the hand cranked kind...) and got in the groove of making scarves for Christmas gifts. Here are the ones I made:

Hope you like them!

Ooo, huggable! Hopefully there's still some cold to wear them in for you! It's very spring here.

It's an Innovations Knitting Machine. It's super easy to use (I also used it awhile back to make some leg and arm warmers for a production of CATS.) Here is a link to Overstock's page b/c it has a great photo of the machine. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for less money than Overstock wanted. http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewing/Innovations-Knitting-Machine/3344329/product.html

If you search YouTube for "Innovations Knitting Machine" you can see it in action. If you can turn an ice cream crank, you can use this machine. The hardest part is casting off when you have to use a plastic needle and run the yarn through each loop. You are limited to a point in what you make, but I've seen some amazing projects come off this machine. :)

It is spring-y here too - being Texas we have gone from 3 inches of snow one day to 60 degrees the next and back to bone chilling cold again. We don't predict the weather until April/May as one year we thought spring had sprung and then we had 2 inches of snow on Easter in April! ;) So I'm still getting a little use out of mine (the purple one). The green one was a gift for Christmas and the rainbow will be a gift for a friend later this year (she doesn't use Craftster. :) )
