This sounds great.  I have to get feedback from current Newbie Rd 12 swap, mailing tomarrow after postal holiday.  I love to sew but don't really have anyone to sew for, so this will be fun!

why is it that whenever I decide to take a break from swapping for a while, awesome swaps start?  ::)

also, this may be a stupid question, but does anybody know what a yard is in meters, since all the fabric here in the UK is sold by the meter??

Post by: fusbdgt on February 19, 2010 04:47:51 AM
a meter is slightly longer than a yard, 1.1 y about  1 m.

Crap!  I didn't realize you were maxing out at 24!   I need to get my sign up in.  I was waiting to make sure I finished crafting in time for another swap but I don't want to miss out.

I have decided to max out at 24 because I have not had a good experience with co-organizers before.  I find that I still do all the work except for give them their feedback which they have already done, early.  We have 3 people with spots that should have feedback or their newbie time expire before closing.  However, if we reach 24 people and another wants to sign up, I am going to have to either bump them from their spot or have a co-organizer sign on and tell me what their job should be as I really am not too sure.

lol, I just pm'd you to say I could co-org if you wanted to have more people. I promise I wouldn't flake ;)

You could split everyone into two groups and have the co-org be entirely in charge of a group, sending and receiving pm's and stuff. Or you could have them just be in charge of receiving, or whatever. Or sometimes in smaller swaps that are just over 24 people it is kind of an "in name only" thing and you just need to email your swap excel sheet to them in case you get sick or something so someone has a record and can step in if need be.

Yeah the times that I have co or had a co-organized, it's mostly been a name only thing, by choice.  You know, because it was necessary to follow swap guidelines.  I cannot say that I would know exactly what a co-organizer would need to do.  I suppose that would be up to the actual organizer to decide when she wanted them to do.

Isn't there an option to just give all the info to a swap mod?

This is one of the swaps that I want to join every round and never have.  OGD and I have been talking about it for the last week.  I pretty much had myself convinced not to join because I'm trying to be more frugal with swaps, you know? But now that I see you have a lovely co-organizer and aren't capping it out at 24, I might not be able to resist!  :P

it is awesome. A place where all sorts of vendors get together to sell you their goods. notions, fabric, books, yarn, unique stuff. There are usually 500 or more vendors so it is fun, but a little overwhelming! There are also classes you can take and fashion shows to watch. here is the website for more info:  http://sewexpo.com/ (http://sewexpo.com/)  you should definitely see if they have expos in your area they are totally worth it!

Just curious about how people decided on their "names"  .  Lindsay 614, is your birthday June 14?  Ashley is yours 08/30?  Where did Platypus Project and Sapphire Moon and One Groovy Day come from?  Obviously, I have way too much time to sit around and wonder about stuff, but thought this might be a good way for us to get acquainted with each other.  Mine is margiej,  because my name is Margie Joy (last name is really Joy!)

thanks for asking.....I ofter wonder the same thing...

If I think back.....when I was joining craftster, a frind of mine was in a swap that was crafting stuff for your user name.....I was determined to think of a name that would be ME and not real hard to remember (for others)......

to add to the story..... whenever I am asked "How are you?"......my answer is either "Ducky", "Groovy" or "Peachy"..... seeing as though I wouldnt want a bunch of stuff crafted toward Peaches or Ducks (altough I do like both).......I didnt want just GROOVY.......so OneGroovyDay it was ....not sure why its ONE and not A or just groovyday.... I think we just thought it sounded better.....who knows

YAY!!!!  Partners Monday!!!  (Or tomorrow??)  I'm terribly excited and can't wait!!

My name...well, Platypi are pretty much amazing in my opinion, they're like a beaver and a duck all rolled in to one...and they're venomous (I pack a nasty "bite" myself when irritated)!!  They also use their tails for fat storage...and I use my behind in a similar fashion ;)...and I craft a lot of projects, some finished, some not.  So lumped all together, I am The Platypus Project.  lol

margie, too bad you're not a Friend of Craftster...there was a whole thread about where people's usernames originated from and the meanings behind stuff, etc.  You can only access the FOC board if you are, in fact, a FOC or I would dig up and send the link to you...you can become an FOC though, then you can see it and the rest of that board  ;D

TheSapphireMoon is actually the name I came up with for my business outside of the internet for the medieval faire I do locally each year...it started out originally as a project for a business class in college where I had to 'create' a business and a name and come up with a business plan and stuff like that.  I kept the name long after the project was turned in, and ran with it!

Okay, so Dharma was my "camp name" (if you've ever been to camp, you understand). At camp, I had a "sister" named Tink. People used to tell us that we were rebels, and so we adopted Rebel as our "camp last name". When asked for a user name, that's what I usually turn to, and I think it fits me  pretty well. Dharma is my hippy-dippy side (a little bit country, if you will) and Rebel is my punk rawk side (a little bit rock and roll).

Soooooo excited for partners!

I did not know platypi were venomous! I also did not know that platypi was the plural. Very interesting!

I love Platypi.  I think they are awesome.  I also love Perry the Platypus he he

MommytheMaid I think it pretty self explanatory.  I had made mention of feeling of bring a Mommy Maid and when I went to make my blog (years and years ago) that is what it was.

I am leaving sign ups open until tomorrow evening and then I will close us out and partner us up.  I already have some preliminary partnering going on.  I think we will be okay when it comes to shipping preferences.

I agree with DeannaLynn if you get a chance to go it is so much fun.  I don't think the one in my area was quite as big as 500 vendors but still many new things to see.  I went to one in Chantilly VA near Washington DC end of Aug and I got all kinds of fun stuff I didn't need.  I can't wait for partners I have already staulked a bit in anticipation.

My name "lique" pronounced "leaky" comes from my real name Angelique. There was a song Dominique when sang was Domi-neaky neaky neaky and my aunt use to bounce me on her name and insert Angelique for Dominique ..... Ange..lique lique lique came out and I have been called Lique ever since I was a baby. A lot of people think it's pronounced "lick" not leaky.  :D

And the term platypi is not actually accepted as a pluralized form of platypus, but it seems to fit so well. :)

Lique, so funny about your name.  That song was from a movie about a nun!  I'm dating myself here, but I vaguely remember seeing it as a very young child.

My name is also self explanatory.  It was a toss between DeepSouthStitches and the one I chose.

Just too excited to get partners tomorrow.  I'll use this week through the weekend to acquire everything.  My sis and her DH are coming to spend the weekend and they have to stay in my sewing room - so only shopping can be done till they leave.  After that it'll be full steam ahead.

Yay for partners tonight (although I'm pretty certain I'll be asleep before I get the PM)!

As for my username, I had the tendency to declare, "I'm such a DORK!"  all the time when I was a sophomore in college and my roommate would reply, "But you're a FUN one!" I ended up getting a new computer and signed up for a new email account and we thought it would be funny if that was what my username was.  So anyway, six years later, I am still a dork....  :D

Ok, so I haven't been crafting yet, but I've been shopping!!!!  ...and I LOVE to shop....not quite as much as I love to sew...but still. :)  I'm hoping one thing I ordered from a far away land comes in before I have to ship, if not, I'll be shipping everything but that one thing and sending that thing separate.  :)
I do, however, know what I want to sew...actually a couple of things I want to sew!   Just waiting for fabric to come in that I also ordered.
Oh how fun!  I'm having a great time with this!

My brain (and the weather here, too!) has been storming, I have a good amount of things listed for possible crafted items.  I can't stick with just ONE medium item, if anything there will be 2, and depending on what I come up with for one of them, it may end up becoming a large based on time.  Not sure if I will need to purchase additional supplies to make or include as the 3-5 items.  This may turn out to be a 100% stash swap!

Mostly I am going from stash, but parts of it are like 3 - 4 - 10 yard pieces, so...but I was very fortunate because I was blessed with this from a friend last month.  Now set me straight, the fabric we send our partner is supposed to be at least 2 pieces and total (minimum)2 yards,  so that means each piece theoritically (?) is just a yard.  So that is not much to "make" something with, or not for clothing anyway.  So how big are the pieces typically sent?  I do mostly "crafts" so small pieces are better for my needs, but what about you all?  Would you prefer 4-quarters, or 1 yard straight?

AT LEAST 2 yards of fabric total (each piece must be 1/4+ yard).
So, not necessarily 2 pieces, but 2 yards.  Each piece being 1/4+ yards...does that explain? :)  I guess technically you could send 4 pieces if each piece was 1/4 of a yard.

It also says at least 2 pieces, just meaning you can't only send 2 yards of one fabric and call it done.

Thank you for your input.  So do most of you all prefer longer length pieces, or a variety of smaller pieces?  Solids or prints?  Cotton or things like fleece, corduroy, suede, cotton knit?  I've been looking at prior swaps and it almost looks like it is usually smaller pieces (fat quarters maybe).  Thoughts?

Title: Re: I <3 to sew Round 3 Send Outs 3/22/10

margie, for me it doesn't matter. I'll make clothes for my DD out of 1 yard pieces, pillows and totes out of pieces that are a bit smaller, and I usually turn my FQs into cloth napkins, doll clothes, zip pouches, etc. I don't think the type of fabric matters (to me) a whole lot. Getting something I dont' ususally work with only pushes me to try new things!

I  have to get back to my house and my stash. I ordered a few supplies, and the pattern/book for TSM last night. I decided against ordering my fabric, because if I make what I want to make, I think it'll take me every spare minute I have. I need to pick up the pattern and some fabric. I have some great stuff in my stash, but I don't think it's enough fabric. I have a terrible habit of buying a yard here and a yard there. (Thank goodness for my One Yard Wonders book).

I agree with Dharma... I think that size really isn't that important as I enjoy making smaller projects.  When I find material that I love and don't have a use for it yet I will buy 1 yard, since I figure that I can do something with that amount.  I have to go to a fabric store this Friday since the only one in town didn't have anything that I liked for my project I want to do.... I will hopefully get the majority of things done this weekend and am feeling the deadline looming over my head... I really can't stand the thought of being late!

Thanks Dharma, I'm still new at swapping and I get insecure about what are the right things to do.  I need one of those 1-yard wonder books I guess.  I have a handwritten list I jot down ideas on and keep adding to it of things I could make, but most of them are in my comfort zone LOL!!And I am real bad about just trying things without a pattern...you know, there's a right way, a wrong way, and a Margie way!! LOL!!

Margie, you can always ask your partner what they sew most often and based on their answers you can decide if sending 2 1yd pieces or mixing it up with sizes of 1/2 and 1/4 yd would work.  For example, if they make a lot of quilts, then maybe sending like 6-8 fat quarters would work best...if they make purses and accessories, then maybe 2 1yd pieces would be best for them.  I always say you can never ask your partner too many questions!

Thoughts?

Just pm your partner and see what she likes ;) If she's working on a specific project she might like some longer lengths or maybe she's a quilter and wants smaller pieces.

One yard pieces are fine with me too, since lately my projects have been smaller.  We don't have the greatest selection of fabric stores here, so I too have ordered online.   I've PM'ed my partner to let her know I surely won't be sending early, but I will definitely be on time!  Two weekends and many weeknights will be more than enough time.
I went to fabric.com and was overwhelmed at the selection.  Free shipping, 15% off as an ASG member, and it'll arrive in 2 days - how could I not love that?  I had fun!  I also have had fun making a supplies list and ordering that too.  I went to the local Hancock's (the ONLY place with sewing supplies) and there was NOTHING decent there.

I do so many projects and am trying to grow my stash that I don't care if it is 1 yard pieces or 1/4 yard pieces it is all good. I even have projects that use itty bitty scrappy bits like coiled bowls do, and use fabric even in many of my non sewing crafts :)

I often buy fabric and remnants without any idea what I will use it for just because I love the fabric or because it is a good price and I know I will find something to use it on.

I also have the 101 one yard wonder book and I love it! I also got any extra 5 projects in it for buying it at Barnes and Nobles (only books bought there get the extra 5 projects apparently).

I went to one of the local quilt shops today to get fabric and was really annoyed.  The ladies working didn't pay any attention to me (not even a hello) the entire time I was there (over thirty mins.), but they didn't have a problem chatting with anyone else who came into the store.  I hate how because I'm young (and look even younger than I am) that they don't think I deserve any attention.  Argghhhh...and I still spent over $50 there getting things for my partner and myself. I hated giving them my money, but there really is no where else locally to get the fabric I wanted.  Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated!  >:(

I think the people who work at Quilt Lovers Hangout only talk to the people who "hangout" there.... and yeah it does suck because its one of the only places to go to get fabric that isnt just Joanns fabric....

and I like Crafty Ladies too.... do they have more since they switched locations?

I don't blame you one bit...I'd hate being treated that way too.  Especially when you made a substantial purchase.  Oh well, you're probably younger and prettier than those old biddies!   P.S.  I am very impressed that so many Craftsters are young, and so dedicated to crafting and sewing.  People in my age bracket seem to be sitting back and saying "Oh I don't HAVE to sew anymore, I used to when the kids were little...(etc)"  Yay to all young Craftsters, and don't let their rude behaviour get to you.

Susie Q's Quilt Shop is in the Weaver's Corner shopping center at the corner of Old 41 and Bayshore.  It's the shopping center in N Ft Myers with one of the last surviving Winn Dixie's in the area.  Take Fowler over the river on that newer no-pay bridge, that turns into Old 41, then turn into the shopping center on your right after you go straight through the Bayshore intersection.  Pretty nice selection of Asian print fabrics, nice batiks, and a few Amy Butler prints.  They have a big industrial quilting machine with a window you can look through and watch it go!

Sorry for being absent.  We've had a bit of a tummy bug.  Everyone has really stepped up and answered questions for each other and I really appreciate it.

I am so sorry you got treated bad imafundork!!  I've noticed that even in JoAnn's unless I have one my tennis shoes and work out clothes, I get treated different.  I have to have normal make up and cover up my tats to even be glanced at.

Although, I know more about sewing and most other crafts than even the manager in that store. ::)  One gal didn't even know what the difference between a sewing machine and a serger was...and she was working in that department and the cut table.  *sigh*

I have set out fabric for the medium items (although OGD and I are totally throwing in some extra goodies) and need to get started. I need to buy freezer paper for one of our agreed extras, and then hopefully that will get a good start on that this weekend :D

I haven't really started on this one yet.  I am trying to finish up the other swap I'm in first.  Then I need to put some more questions together for my partner so I can craft her up a great package.

I am old and I get the same treatment at fabric stores but I would rather be left alone anyways.  Most of the people that work at my local JoAnns don't know much about sewing.  But to be fair JoAnns doesn't really pay well so you get what you pay for I guess.

There was a big thread recently on patternreview.com about this same thing- bad customer service, especially to the younger among us.  What are these folks thinking???  If they are truly into quilting, sewing, or any craft they should be ecstatic to have the business of young people - tats, pink hair, sweat pants and all!  Both local quilt shops here are very friendly so I'm lucky, but I'm not young either, lol!  I should send 17 yo DD in there and see what reaction she gets.
Most of the time I'd rather be left alone, unless I'm trying to match some fabric - but it's sort of creepy when you walk into a small shop (like most quilting stores are) and they don't greet and act so clique -ish.  WRONG.

My favorite local quilt shop is so friendly to me, they will even hold my son for me while I shop. they say it gives them 'grandma' time, while I get to have both hands to load up!

I found the fabric I am going to use for my sewing, I just need to find the fabric I want to send. I can't wait to get going on this, the ideas are flowing...

I went to my favorite thrift store and got some pretty neat goodies, for $5 at one and 3.30 at the other .  I took my time and sorted thru about 10 or more boxes. Of course a lot of the fabric is small pieces, but I also got lots more lace, and ribbon, and some stuff I usually don't mess with (sheers and silky-type)  Then I went and ate Chinese, so it was a perfect afternoon.  And except for dropping 2 totes on me that I should not have been messing with (and breaking stuff) It was very relaxing!  And I didn't have to deal with all the temptation at Joannes or Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Sewing - commence today for thing 1.
Sewing - commence next week for thing 2.
I am on track!!!  ...which is..subsequently, out of character for me!  I work well under pressure, so I usually wait and mess around until I can't possibly wait anymore, but not this time...no sirreebob.  I.  Am on the right train this time!
I too need to wait until I get paid next week to get the pattern/tuturial book I want...but still leaves me on track. :)

Oh, I just was on "chat" with a young lady who grew up with my girls, almost like one of my family.  She told me she sews and collects dolls,  because when she was growing up she thought it was neat because I did.  Made my day!!!

OGD and I have been chatting up a storm!  I have had a few setbacks with my dino swap as this one project alluded me a few too many times LOL  I ended up making something different, and WAY better.  I am almost finished with all that and then will start my sewn items (and agreed upon extras;) ) hopefully this evening.  I have been looking through patterns and books trying to find something good for OGD and have a few ideas for fabric, but nothing set in stone yet :D

I have had a few questions about this so I want to answer it real fast.

You may send a pattern OR a pattern book to your partner.  Some people have mentioned a preference for one or the other and others have not. The 3-5 small items are meant to be sewing items (pincushion, freezer paper, pins, etc., ) and do not have to be handmade but certainly can be.

If there are any questions, please feel free to ask me or you can discuss with your partner what you would prefer to do :D

So I ordered a ton of fabric from different Etsy stores, both to sew with and for my partner.
I received two packages today and the fabric I ordered that I'm sewing with...came in wrong.....harumph.
I sent her a message as well as pictures and a copy of the invoice and telling her I'm sending it back at my expense as long as she please please please sends out the correct fabric tomorrow so I can get sewing.  :)
I really hope she can send it out quickly so I can get it before the weekend!

On another note, all notions have been purchased, I'm just waiting for fabric from a far away land and I'm currently washing some other fabric so I can get sewing on one of my things tonight! :)  Hope everyone is enjoying the swap so far!!

Whew, good to know I'm not the only one that hasn't started sewing yet.  I just got loads of fabric in, so I have the fabric, all the supplies and the pattern/book to send.  But, I may need more notions for what I sew.   I really need to finalize that, and then I can get down to work on the main part.
Seems like every day it's something else, and the local Hancock has not crap.  I'm hoping a trip to Hobby Lobby will make things better.

Huzzah, I really hope Glamis likes what I made her.  I have all the supplies too, but I still need to get anothe 1/2 mt of fabric, or 2 1/4's, I'm not sure yet ,it depends what I can find.  i have been really disappointed in the selection in my town.  There is another fabric store I forgot about, its in the back of a jewellery store...strange combo.  might go and check it out at the weekend.

Wish we had a Hobby Lobby here!  We have 3 Joanne's and a couple quilt shops, and an IKEA 2.5hr from here.  I LOVE IKEA fabric!  I have a whole plastic tote full of it...stockpiled for when they eventually discontinue lines and create new ones in their place.

I as well have not 100% figured out what I want to make, but I do have the notions gathered, and an extra figured out.  We have a wee bit of time left, but not too much, so I better figure it out quick!

Hello,

I received from Margiej today! It's all lovely and I'd love to post pictures but can't find a link to the gallery anywhere in the thread or on the 1st page of signup. I also looked briefly in the gallery section of the craftswaps but there are pages so... do we have a gallery or should I post pics here?

I promise Margiej once I get confirmation of where I am supposed to post the pics of the beautiful stuff you sent me I will they're all ready to go!

And thank you so much Margiej it was a WONDERFUL package and you spoiled me by sending way more than 2 yards of fabric but you won't hear me complain because I loved it!! Thanks so much!!

Jenn/SlyFox

Checking in!!
All my 3-5 items have been purchased and made.  :)  One "small" thing I was making turned out to be a 4 hour ordeal..lol.  It was truly a learning experience.  I've never used binding before...and I decided to make my own, I'm pleased with the result on this particular item and may have to make one for me.
Still waiting on that replacement fabric, she said she sent on Tuesday so hopefully it gets here today because I'd really like to get going on my medium thing today.
My patten/book item has been purchased.
My material has been purchased (and most of it received)!
So I guess if I receive the material today I can make my medium thing this weekend, shop early next week for my spoily extras...(ok'd by my partner) hope the last piece of fabric comes in and ship on out!

As an aside....this is very exciting....but we're picking up our brand spankin' new, eight and a half week old, english bulldog tomorrow!!!!!  Turning out to be a weekend I'm absolutely looking forward to!!

I think I have decided what I'm going to make for my medium item...and brought supplies to work to make an extra or 6 LOL!  Just kidding...sort of  :D  There may be a set of extras, maybe 3, that will be __________.  On the medium item, I need some ____________ ________.  Gotta check Joann's and see if I can get some with one of the NUMEROUS coupons they have this week for coupon commotion.

coupons?? (ears perking up!)  Did you say Coupons,,,,at Joannes?  I might have to go there.  And congrats! Platypus Project on your new "baby". :) :) :)

I have been to two different Jo Ann's this week and have not been able to find anything I could use my coupons on.  Everything I want is already on sale.  I used to get magazines with the coupons but now they always put the magazines at 10 % off so you can't use a coupon.  Then I thought about a new knitting book and they are 30% off.  There are a lot of coupons but no good if everything in the store is already marked down.

None of the jewelry stuff is on sale, and specialty fabrics are seldom on sale as well....so I have plenty to use the coupons on for crafts I like to do :)

It totally bummed me out when they started putting the magazines on 10% off. Dirty buggers! If nothing else, I buy a toy or puzzle for one of my nephews with a coupon, they have some great kids stuff but I will not pay full price for the toys!

Gotta wait on cutting and sewing my sewn item until I'm off again on Tues and Wed.  I only have a couple hours when I get home, and I'm SO not motivated enough to do a whole project on any of that time, really only small things...but this swap calls for a medium!  LOL!

I am getting closer.  I need to finish up the large extra and still need to sew up a few things once I find a fabric that I like for them.  I have most of the fabric picked out, the patterns/pattern book picked out (and there are some major extras there :D ) and most of the notions ready to go although  I am making a few of them that need to get done too.  :D

yes she did,  goodness me does junk food help with crafting..... I also made some hummus and home made pita chips, which was a bit healthier.. ;)......Fundork was on a roll, non-stop, crankin out some pretty cool stuff.....I was moving a bit slower, still not feeling GREAT, but getting better.....and I think that MTM and her kids will like the stuff that I am sending their way. I still have a couple loose ends to tie up, but Im pretty much done.  I am waiting on some stuff that I orderd to make the package complete, what I didnt realize is that one of the things is coming from Hong Kong (crossing fingers that it gets here before send outs).

oh yeah, Fundork got a new nickname yesterday, but we will have to wait to share it till after PP gets her goodies so that we dont give anything away...... ;)

I just finished my sewn items today!  So I only have one thing I'm waiting for that's coming from over seas...I'm hoping it gets here this week so I can ship the package!
I had such a good time putting this stuff together and I learned some new techniques and got to try my hand at some new things.  One thing I think I'm going to be making one for me!

Someone asked for a puppy picture...this is Delilah...she's 8 weeks old and we picked her up yesterday after I think 5 weeks of waiting.  Her brother Sampson loves her to bits and pieces.  I <3 English Bulldogs!!

Those dogs are so cute.  I have been working on my sewn items yesterday and today.  Everything turned out so adorable.  It took me a lot longer than I expected but I was so enjoying just making somehting for fun.  I was doing the kind of sewing I don't normally do and trying to use what I already have.  Now I just have to come up with the other parts like the fabric and notions.  I need to check my partners wist again.

I work in a call center, so between and during calls I make things, mostly flower head wreaths, jewelry, button art, cross stitch, and embellishing by sewing on beads and sequins.  Stuff that is portable and doesn't make too much of a mess, basically.  If I knew how to knit or crochet, I probably would do those things too!

I had every intention of sending today since I had a short day at work, but I discovered that my car had been broken into last night. In addition to stealing my satellite radio and iPod, the jerk(s) stole my sewing machine and case which had the book for The Platypus Project in it and my copy of One Yard Wonders.  :'(

Other random things they stole- a jacket (when there were two in the car) and my hairbrush.  ???

I am seriously more upset about the sewing related things than anything else.  The sheriff's dept. just left so when I leave in a little bit to wash my car (get the black fingerprinting dust off), I'm going to pick up another book.

My car was broken into two years ago...it was parked in my garage and there were a series of events that followed up to it.  I know how you feel...it's terrible, and I'm so sorry your stuff got taken...ugh.
Please don't worry about anything....get yourself situated and work with the department...I hope you get all your stuff back.

Yeah, the violated feeling is the worst.

I'm so sorry that happened.  It makes you feel so frustrated, I know.  I hope they find who did it.  Keep us updated.

I did find out that they hit a bunch of cars in the area last night, so hopefully it will get more attention because of that.  Also, knowing that it wasn't a personal attack on me makes me feel better.

I feel so stupid because I absentmindly left my sunroof open last night (something I never do) and that's how they got in.  :(

OMG...I am so sorry!!!!

Wow, that's craziness!  My car was parked in the carport right in front of my building and I didn't hear a thing.

But anyway, a little retail therapy always makes me feel better so I went and picked up a new (and different...one I hadn't seen before) book for The Platypus Project!  :D I think I'll be able to send out on Wednesday or Thursday.

I can promise I won't be shipping before the 22nd.  I had visiting family, a DIL who started chemo (I had to cook ALL DAY Saturday so her family can have a freezer full of food while she's down), a drama queen 17 year old......  It's been CRAZY!!

But, I finally started sewing yesterday.  So I told the family they eat peanut butter and jelly for the rest of the week - as I'll be locked in my sewing room every night and this weekend!  Of course I chose something more complicated than I should have... but it will be worth it - it's coming out real nice so far!!

I know, and no matter how many times I refresh the page it STAYS in Federal Way!  :D I hate it when it's there, because Federal Way is about half an hour from my house. I'd happily drive there and pick up the package. I should get it tomorrow afternoon, fingers crossed!
