There is plenty of time to make these, with sendouts Feb 16, 2010 - You can start right away, as they really don't need to be tailored to a certain partner. All mediums are welcome.  Inchies need to be on a sturdy base - Regular office paper won't work - You can use things like card stock, cardboard etc. If you are doing fabric be sure to put some kind of interfacing to make them sturdy - the links posted are great for ideas.

Shipping - Please protect your inchies - don't just throw them in a envie and hope for the best - they are going to get beat up - Those little note cards work great for sending inchies as would just a pcs of cardstock folded over in a envie
I like to use atc card protectors and staple in between the inchies so they each have their own pocket and send that in a note card. also PLEASE include your user name on the back of your inchies - makes a bit easier to thank you for your wonderful inchies

Pictures are required.  Some like to post pics as they receive and others like to post after they received all of them.  You may use a camera or a scanner.

So who wants to play?

...

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap: Inchies - it's a new year!

Craftster username:

Email address:

Your real name:

Mailing address including the country:

Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country? Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country? YES, this will be required.

Confirm that are at least 13 years old (yes/no):

1.  What kind of inchies are you wanting to do? (you can answer unsure here if you aren't sure yet).

2.  What kind of inchies would you like to receive? (examples would be fabric or cute or bizzarre, anything, etc)

I CANNOT guaranty that I can match people up perfectly, so keep an open mind.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

I'm a little confused about the mailing/DC status...

If I understand correctly, we DON'T need DC's, but if any of the 7 envelopes go astray, we will resend, and some of our 7 partners may be from outside the US, but one envelope of 7 inchies and protective cardboard shouldn't be cost inhibitive.

I mail ATC's all over the place - mailing to the United Kingdom and Australia is .98 cents - to Canada is .75

so it's not too bad - plus there are very few times that envies go missing.  ;D

so, as works of art, they can be made out of anything and then put on an inch plateform?  Like, can it be made out of macaroni or shells or flowers pasted on?  or does it have to be only drawn or painted?

I have seen just about everything done, but personally, I prefer original art or collage work and not too much dimension as I like using them for cards or to frame...I have been looking at the gallery to get inspiration but I already know what I am doing! I can't wait to get started!  One inch sure is small...I cut out all my bases today!

I use the cardboard that is used inside my fat quarters from Joann's fabric--cheap and easy to cut yet sturdy!!  Also, after cutting out a few, I realized it would be easier if I glued the paper on first, then cut! Newbie mistake, I am sure! ha ha

Actually I cut out my bases first and then cut out my backgrounds and do it that way. I also water color some backgrounds.

Yup, inchies can be made of anything as long as it's stuck to that inch x inch square.

Try and remember about posting things internationally though. For example, I know that you are not allowed to send plant matter to Australia...

oh thanks!  I was thinking after I posted that that would only work if I wanted some sort of theme as all of the paper would be the same! ha ha

I want to also watercolor some sheets and also experiement with tracing papers and some handmade paper (which I am busy making with all of my ATC scraps!!  What a mess! ha ha)

I'm kind of wavering on whether to do this or not.  I've only done one swap so far, and am in the middle of my second, and 49 inchies seem a lot.  Do they seem harder to do because of size, you know, the smaller anything is the less room you have to work with?

I did about 10 in a hour yesterday. Then I tried a new technique last night and got another 5 or so done. They really don't take long. Depends on what technique you want to do.

Also looking thru my vintage photos and other stuff for inspiration. (Not thinking about going back to work tomorrow - I'm NOT thinking about going back to work tomorrow!)

Ok, 7 goes to one person, then 7 to another and so on, right?  so, should they all be kind of coordinated or just an eclectic mix?  which is better and how do you coordinate?  For each set (person) you look at that person's likes/dislikes/wists, etc. and hopefully the whole 49 would mesh?

uhm--we don't even have partners yet, so I am assuming that I will do my own thing and hopefully the receiver will like what I do as an artist! ?

I usually start making mine before we get partners but will make at least 1 that's specific for the person.  There isn't a whole lot of space to play around in which for me makes it very forgiving and anything's possible.

Aside from the addictive quality of inchies, the other side effect is how the scraps that really were too small to use and therefor could be thrown out... well, they're no longer too small.

I listed specific themes that I'd like to receive HOWEVER, I know that a lot of people don't wait for partners so I'm not expecting to all of my inchies to include or have those themes :) I just wanted to post that here for my partners to be before they get my questionnare and think, "Oh crap! She's picky!"  :D

i have no idea what I'm doing till I spill out my box of scraps and start playing - no planning  at all! Mine ended up all purple last time as I had so much of that colour and they seemed to work out somehow. I think mine might be more based on vintage photos this time as I seem to have loads!

I started backgrounds for my inchies yesterday -- I had so much fun playing with materials!  I really like how the backgrounds came out.  I may do my own thing with some of them and maybe customize a few others for people with specific wants... but it is nice not to have rules for them too.

I think I'll practice on my own for a bit before joining any inchie swap.  There's lots of ideas I've gotten, I just am a bit unsure of the putting together of them.  What do you all use to adhere with?  I have modge podge, but does that work well with papercrafts or does it make the paper soft and disintegrating?

modge podge is made for papercrafting. I've used that. I also like to just use plain old elmer's school glue. I also use a 3m scrapbooking glue that has double ended applicators. Glue sticks work just fine as well.

Im quite tempted to join this swap, Ive been lurking for a little while considering it.  I'm a little nervous because it would be the first swap I have signed up to, but I find the idea of inchies rather appealing.  Is it preferable to use existing images or is it ok to paint images and layer them?

Just a note that when I switched to glue sticks because they were less messy, some of my pieces fell off in the mail.

Inchies are good for everyone because you can do whatever you want. I don't have much drawing skill, so I use a lot of collage in mine, but people who can paint and draw might do more of that. I've seen knit, crochet, and sewn inchies too!

I'm way too excited, I've already made 23 inchies! (though one was for my mom)

I'm gonna have to go through and see which ones are actually of a good enough quality to send out, I wouldn't want my partners getting subpar inchies...

Wow and I thought I was doing good to have 15 done! You are too awesome!

Ok as new as I am to inchies how strict is the inch? These inchies I did overlap the edge by like half an inch all the way around! Do I need to scrap this idea and hold on to them til we get the inchie and a half swap??!!??

That's a good question taraston...

I guess I have a similar dilemma as I am not precise enough with cutting and my inchies all vary in size a tiny, tiny bit. It's frustrating!

They need to be as close to a square inch as possible. They really do look great in a collage when they are all the same size.
Seriously a 1 inch square punch is a great investment because that way you know they are always gonna be perfect size.

I used my rotary cutter and got 60 bases cut out very quickly.  I certainly will look into getting a punch at some point!  These are addicting to make!  I am up to about 15.  I love messing up my newly cleaned desk top! ha ha

I bought my 1" punch (actually I bought two!) from Somerset Studios. I think Martha Stewart has one but I can never find it at Michael's. It helps ALOT when making inchies in batches or individually.

I hand-cut my first inchies last year and it was verrrry frustrating.

My punch is a Fiskars. I bought it at Michael's when the paper punches were on sale, and it was totally worth it!

you want as close to a inch as possible - some people like to frame them - they look great that way - will find a pic later to show you - got way busy at work so need to catch up on swap stuff tonight but did want to update the thread at least :)

Welcome to the Swap!!!  I usually do pm's but you guys are getting a public welcome this time <G>

Ma Rut, Mfupi , hahnasay , Knickertwist, alorralora , teffy, GlitteringPeacock, and Jolyon

you can do fabric, metal, paper, collage, painting, drawing, pretty much any media will work - you want to keep them somewhat flat so they go thru the mail ok.

as for glue if you use a glue stick you may want to coat with varish or some sort of sealer so everything stays on.

any glue works - keep in mind mod podge does dry a bit sticky but with inchies it seems to be less of a issue - gel medium works wonderfully well for papercrafts - if you are a painter you may have this already.

40% coupons - Joanns, Michales and Hobby Lobby all have them
Hobby lobby has on line coupons that you print out and can be used at Joanns
Michales has a e-mail list where they send you coupons
Michales and Hobby Lobby also have them in the Newspaper

will update our newest swappers status tonight :)

I had the joy of working for 2 years in frame shop on an army post. I had access to a computerized mat cutter. All I can figure is that it was a very slow work day because that was a lot of math. I also built the frames specially for the projects. I miss that shop terribly. I could make a million dollars on etsy with those frames. The people at the frame shop on our new post are not very friendly :( and I'm not inclined to spend much time there. Maybe our next post (hopefully in summer we will be moving again) will be more accommodating.

almost forgot to mention rubber stamps - there are some fab ones out that are just right for inchies. that middle one on the front page is layers of papers collaged on then rubberstamped a bird image.

in the case of those inchies I collaged random papers (some are tissue paper) on a larger pcs of watercolor paper - you could splash some paint about too on top of the papers - then cut them down to 1 inch sq. before putting the images on.

there are so many different ways to do these - the sky is the limit.

ooh!  i really like that idea!! because i like tissue paper, but 1x1 is hard to make layered.  but if you collage it, once you cut them up you will end up with several different colors of tissue paper on each square!

since they need to be flat

Some 3D is OK.  The only rule is that they need to be 1 inch high and 1 inch wide, though I've seen some that are longer but fold down to 1x1.

But as Alwaysinmyroom said, the wire work you did would be a great way to display an inchie.

Ok, I just got a few supplies!  I got glue sticks for photos and journaling, some card stock (but they still feel very flimsy to me), and some sticky mini dots.  I have gesso which I think I'll put on the card stock.  I have a few pieces of clipart for some of the inchies, then the rest I'll just come up with something myself.

Holy cow, I never realized how tiny a 1x1" square was until I tried to print up my clipart!  I found an old Peanuts book which I was going to throw out, but am now rethinking throwing ANY book out as I can use them for inchies!

The best (and worst) thing about inchies is that you can use such smal scraps that you will never throw any scraps away, evar. I cant tell you how packed my boxes of "tiny scraps" are. One for paper and one for fabric.

I am discovering this, and as an illustration, I just made up an inchie using the tiny TINY holes from a paper punch that makes eyelet paper....it looks like a tiny mosaic! I'm going to have to seal it with Diamond Glaze or something to keep  the tiny pieces from falling off eventually.

I bought my 1" punch at Michaels but it was a pain trying to find one!!!  Now I don't know how I went without it!!!  I am still using the remaining business cards from my last job for bases.  They are perfect and I can get 5-6 inchies out of them.  I am also saving scraps and neat pics and other doo-dads for inchie making.  It has gotten to the point where I have a drawer reserved just for inchie making supplies.

It's so strange that more people aren't signing up for this swap!! Usually we'd be in groups by now.

Maybe...they've missed it. Maybe we need to run around screaming "INCHIE SWAP! INCHIE SWAP! INCHIIIIIIIIES!"

I haven't started on my inchies yet. Too many other crafts to get done for other swaps. I've been thinking about making inchies though. I've been thinking about it a lot. I've been thinking about it so much that I dreamed about it last night!  :D

Maybe I can play around with some backgrounds today...

I'm starting my backgrounds today.  Quite excited by the possibilities; Im just trying to remember that an inch is actually quite small and that I shouldnt get too complicated. ;)

I am still using the remaining business cards from my last job for bases.  They are perfect and I can get 5-6 inchies out of them.

I loved this idea so much!!  They are so perfect because they are hard stock but you only have to measure once (to get rid of the extra 1/2 inch since they are 2 by 3.5).  My company just merged with another company and they're changing their name, so everyone gave me their old business cards (or everyone who hadn't already thrown them out) - I must have 2000 cards!!!  I'll never have to buy paper for inchies again, lol.  Unless I want to start with a watercolor paper base, that is...

1" = 2.5cm

Yeah, there is a teensy amount of difference between an inch and 2.5cm, probably minute enough not to worry about but I was going to use an inch ruler just to be safe. Of course, I am anal enough to notice a small difference, lolz :D.

Picking up an inch punch sounds great, Australian craft stores are sadly lacking in the punch department so I might have to look online.

I'm finding them lacking in everything lately. My local Lincraft downsized and now there's hardly anything there. I haven't been to Spotlight lately so i'm hoping that they'll have some nice things.

Don't buy this punch!!! It runs about $15 and is built well. But you can't punch anything heavier than computer paper. I've returned two now after trying to punch light cardboard/heavy card stock. All the sudden the sharp bit shifts so it no longer fits through the hole and wont punch a whole shape.  Not worth the money or the frustration. If you already have this one, be carefull.

thanks for the tip! I just bought one based on it being the cheapest, since I couldn'r see or feel them online. Luckily I passed on that one.

Well I've just sent in my info to join, so maybe we will be able to fill up before the 16th, I dunno. This will be my 2nd swap, though I've been making inchies and other paper crafts for a loooong time. There are just two things I wanted to say, though:

1) Should we sign, date, label etc. the backs of each of the inchies we send out? Or is the envelope enough?
2) I usually get most of my supplies from stuff that would be thrown away, and I don't like buying plastic sleeves when I've got so much excess plastic laying around, so I make my own sleeves, usually just by sewing through plastic transparencies with pretty thread. So I hope that's alright with everyone. I know it's not standard, but...I just thought I'd warn everyone.

I like it when people label their inchies because when they are all mixed together I can remember who sent me what.

Spiffyhink, I like it when people name the backs as well, like a teeny artwork.

And your sewing through plastic idea was exactly what I was thinking of doing. I personally don't see any reason to buy more plastic when I can recycle. To heel with standard! These are own own little works of art so I say, do what you feel :D

Okay, so I'm thinking about joining, but I've never made inchies before, it looks like a lot of fun though. And I do paper craft so I think I can manage it. But I don't have these sleeve things you're talking about. Would sticking them to the inside of a card with double folded tape work good enough?  :-\ Or do you have any other ideas? I thought about maybe putting them in small sealed bags, but I don't have enough of those.

I have received inchies every way from handmade little bagies to just loose in a card to premounted ona mat board. Though I don't recomend letting them float free in the envelope because they are more likely yo get damaged. Here is a link to a template for a small inchie envelope that can be attached to a heavy card background. I have a punch for this that I LOVE!!!!

http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/inch-envelopes.pdf (http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/inch-envelopes.pdf)

It's a PDF file so you will need Adobe Reader. If any one is interested I can make up pages of this template, and ATC envelopes too, so all you have to do is print on your favorite paper. Let me know if you need it in A4 or 8.5x11 or both.

So I made a page anyway. This is similar to the envelope punch I have. I'm not sure the best way to print but as long as you scale it to 8.5x11 it will be right. I also have an ATC envelope and can put either on A4 paper size or other if ya need!

I use a small pinch of fun tak or some such putty temporary adhesive to stick the inchies to the inside of a card so they don't move around.  Or a rolled up piece of tape that I run over fabric so the sticky is not so strong.

The inchies envelopes are so cute!

That sounds lovely! I'm going to werk on some fabric inchie today too. Don't know if you all will end up with them. Haven't made any in fabric before and I'm crossing my fingers that my seing machine will cooperate since I don't have an actual satin stitch to do the edges. Maybe my serger will work...

i decided satin stitch would overwhelm them - so I just did straight stitch and trimmed up to the edge - it frays a little but they aren;t going to be washed or anything so should hold up.

It is kind of like pva glue but runnier, maybe even more like a sealer consistency, also can be a final coat to give things a glossy finish.
You can buy it from Spotlight, it's near all the other glues and things In an orange bottle. I haven't checked lincraft though.
Otherwise eckersley's would have it for sure. Hope that helps.

YAY for partners--I have made quite a few but now I want to be able to make some partner specific inchies!!  I decided to use this cool jar I found to hold random inchies that aren't quite up to snuff or that I don't use and randomly leave them places like the coffee shop, my favorite restaurant, etc.  Why?  just because... :D

This is actually a really awsome art form called guerilla art. It is super big in indie craft circles. Have you ever seen the women who knit cozys for light poles and  street signs? There was also an artist who his small arts around a city and gave out map coordinates for gps tracking and made it like a treasure hunt.

Quick question - I have started making mine and have found that 6 of them have a similar theme. So my question is this - would you rather receive a set of 7 themed? Or 7 random, where the inchies with a theme are split up?

I have made sets in the past, but broken them up and given each person 1 from each set. I prefer random inchies. They look so interesting framed when they are random.

Ha! I've been making a few inches since signing up but they take me ages and ages to make as well. I really like making them but it seems to take me just as long to fiddle with that 1" sqaure as it does for much projects  :D

I hand cut the squares and then sand down the corners with and emery board. It sounds sort of crazy but it doesn't take too long and I like the results.

I just finished my first inchies!!!!  I've made 14... thought I was doing good - looked up and 3.5 hours had passed!!! LOL

They are quite addicting!

I took a pic and uploaded on flickr.  I'd love some feedback as these are the first - good, bad, ugly, indifferent... let me know what you think please!

They are cute!  ;D

I started tonight, found a ruler that also indicates inches (we use cm) and was surprised how small the pieces are  ;) on all the pics they look bigger.
I made about 8 of them, all very different, because I have so many ideas...and it's addicting indeed  ;D ;D; so I'm back to work...

I finished about 15 inchies (my hb was really puzzled and wondering what I was doing with all these tiny pieces of paper  ;)) and there are some that I'm going to finish today; then I'll have about 20 of them.
When I read about all your finished inchies I guess a lot of us will be sending early? I will probably.

Is it still an inchie if little bits of it hang off the sides? (How much is acceptable?)

our wonderful members of the swap posted some eailer if you got to the top of the thread and click on the "show images only" tab that will bring up all the pics posted to this thread :)

McJulie-O - you want to be fairly close to a inch to met the theme of the swap - you could also check with your partners - some may want 1 inch exct. for display reasons.

I will be sending tomorrow, if the rain doesn't wash away San Francisco.

And I end up making about 7 - 10 for each set, in case some don't "measure" up. So my "keep" set is always more than 7....I also made a 9th set in case any go missing during transit.

I'm not worried about the deadline, and I'm not hurrying either.... but then I'm not making cohesive sets either (at least it doesn't appear so), and I AM finding that every time I finish an inchie, it's like it launches a half dozen OTHER COOLER ideas that I'm having to explore...

creatively it's quite stimulating, but I'm thinking I'm not going to be satisfied with the first iterations, so it's going to take longer for me... (and now that I've actually verbalized that out loud, I'd better make them REALLY good..... Oh, dear!)

Imagine my dismay at some folks' fast progress! Yikes! <<Takes deep breaths and calms down>> ::)

All my notecards are ready to go - just have to put into envelopes, address and pay for postage.  I was having a hard time determining who got what... So this is what I did...  I got 7 note cards and put the username and name at the top, along with what they liked/didn't like - such as anything, or no clowns, etc.

Then I showed my daughter which ones to give to each of them (i have one set that's similar, but colors are different, so I told her to give them one each).  Then I had her look through them all and sort them on the cards.  She attached them using tacky stuff you use for posters onto the notecards.  I only moved 2 to balance them out, and I think she did a great job.

I'll stuff the envelopes and address them tomorrow and hopefully send to my partners on Thursday.

I'm sure that they look great! You could always post a picture of a few here for feedback.

When i'm stuck I like to go through magazines and look for fun words to stick on my inchies. Maybe that will inspire you.

Mine have been sitting half done on my craft table because I'm waiting for a little inspiration too. There are still three weeks left to craft. Don't stress...   ;)

@mindboggld - Sounds nice to have such a wonderful helper. Dose she craft too?

I'm going to finish up one swap before I seriously tackle this one but have still been sneaking in one every once in a while.  I think mine are not going to be in any sets... having too much fun just running wild one at a time.

Just so my partners know mine have nothing to do with each other! I tried lots of different techniques so each one is very different! I did make 2 that were the same and a couple that were done in the same style, but no sets. The set each partner got was totally randomly drawn from a basket, placed in plastic and stuffed in an envelope I had already addressed.

I sort of did mine in sets as well so each partner will get some of each set and them maybe one or two just made for them (I did some serious stalking.... :D)....

The worst were the denim ones...the dang glue just would not stick properly, so I sewed them down, then the backs looked ugly, so I had to fix that....but, I love how they turned out!!  Hubby saw them and said "Do that to my jeans!"

I received from Smmarrt today!  I'm fighting against opening the envelope as I haven't finished with my set yet.  I also haven't looked in the gallery yet.  This is the best way for me to deal with swapping anxiety.  So, I won't be posting her inchies until mine are out the door.  Sorry.

I got 11 done so far!!  Sorry I'm a little slow.  I'm only now just getting the hang of these things, so my first few were a little boring.  I had found some greeting cards with Monet paintings on them, so basically, cut them out and glued some words to them.  Not very original, but I'm getting better.  My best and favorite ones are the ones I made from a watercolor piece.  I just played with them until forms and shapes within the paint suggested themselves to me and I went with it.  I don't have any sets really, just two that are Peanuts related.

I've been assembling my sets last night and I'm packing them now, which I consider as the most difficult part after reading stories about ripped envelopes and lost inchies...so I'll probably be sending them later this week.

I am like you MunLTstmpr--I do not want to see the gallery or my inchies until I am done...I tend to get too distracted and then want to try new techniques, etc!

I did receive from Smmarrt as well!!  I sort of did a "quick peek" and I can already tell they are pretty fabulous mix!  Hubby looked and said they were pretty cool...so I better hurry and finish ha ha

Oh, I did break down and buy a one inch punch!!  I figured that it was worth the investment since I am making a lot extra to "drop" off...I know our area is hit pretty hard by the economy so I am doing a set of inspirational inchies to give...

I think I'm done!!  I'll have to recount, but I think I'm there.  I'm going to wait til I get my first inchie package to see how to package them, and to see if my inchies are OK enough to send :p  I'm quite pleased with the outcome of everything.  I did do some sets:  1 set of valentines, 1 set of snowflakes, and 1 set of women in costumes/careers/whatever (you'll see *wink*)  I think out of all of them I like best are the ones where I used my background as more than a background.  umm...guess you'll have to see that, too, as I can't explain it any better.  So, with all that said, I think I'm now officially hooked on inchies!!!

It's when you raised a closed fist to the sky and curse the winds.  (Okay that may be a little over the top).

I have a slight tremor in my hands, and it gets worse if I work too long, especially on small things, so my progress is not as quick as I would have liked it. Boo.  >:(

putting the finishing touches on my inchies. Sorry I've been so quiet. Life has just been a little cruel lately and it's starting to get on my nerves.

I am having a ton of fun with my little creations and will be excited to hear others reactions, since these are my first!!!

take care all

I checked yesterday and the "priority" sticker indeed seems to be the problem. With one of these stickers your inchies would have arrived last week and without it takes 8-12 work days...and that's this week!  :o

Is there such thing as being too chatty? I finished my inchies today, took [crappy] pictures, and packed them up. All I need now is some stamps and a mailbox.

I have been so worried that I wouldn't be able to finish on time, but I set out all my inchies and counted them and realized I had finished without noticing it... now I'm packing them up, which will take some time, but I'm not worried at all about the sendout date anymore.

well, HL didn't have it the first time I looked, so maybe they were out of stock.  They also used to have much more stamps than they do now.  Everything is for Cricut.  what the heck is cricut anywa?  I can't tell by reading the displays.

I found a 7/8" at HL, too.  I thought it would work well with my 1" to make a sort of border.  What do you think, would that size work as a border?  I don't want to run out and buy it and then not be able to use it.

I got mine at HL. It only works on light weight papers NO CARDBOARD!!!! I have a scaloped 7/8 that is awsome for a differant shaped boarder. Both are definatley worth it, especialy if you have a coupon.

wow, mine does terrible with lightweight paper!

Anyhoo....

WHEEE!!!  I got all my inchies sealed up and ready to go to the post office tomorrow!  I only hope they are ok.  I got some little clear, triangular photo holder thingies.  I only put two on each inchie, diagonally, as I didn't know if it would be too hard to get them out of there.

I used some Allene's (I think) Repositionable Glue, for the one inchie on the outside of the card... you put some down and wait for it to dry clear and then it supposed to provide a temporary hold (if you use it fresh it makes a permanent bond, at least it SAYS it does) We'll have to see if it works  :P

I will probably take the sets that already arrived to work with me on Tuesday so I can look at them as soon as I mail out.  I can't wait!

I bought my first one from Stampington/Somerset magazine. But I just found a second one at Pearl Paint before it closed its doors - boo hoo. I'd look on Ebay, too - I find lots of good crafting stuff there.

Just let people know--Joanne's has all of their punches for sale...I scored two square punches for $9.00! I really like them and have had no problems with them...they are cheap enough that if they stop cutting, I can get more...so far, my circle punch (which I now know can be used for "rinchies"!) has lasted well over a year!

I think I have my camera issues resolved so I definitely will be mailing tomorrow! (if we only get 5" of snow as they predict!)....

I'm really glad I did not drop mine in the box the two out of country would have come back with not enough postage! I made today but just barely. I litterally peeled in on 2 wheels and got to the door as he was pulling out the key to lock it! But they did make it in the box today!  It was fun!  And I received from Pink pug ink.  today will have to post tomorrow as I am beat!

Guys I got part of the updates but the computer is acting up - scrolls down when I try to type - then I can't see what I'm typing  :P and it's driving me a tad nuts at the moment - been at it for 45 min and getting nowhere fast

will try it again tomorrow - will try hubbys laptop in the morning - so no worries - I have everyone sent and will get the rec part tomorrow - sorry for the delay  :-\

my posts on here do that too, about 90% of the time.  Now, it's not doing it, but it did yesterday.  does it happen in other programs/websites, or just here doing posts?

I'm no computer genius but I think its got something to do with the compatibility of Internet Explorer with this site.  I noticed it when I upgraded to the lastest IE version and not only here but on my yahoo homepage too.  Anyway its a quick fix :)

gg are you using Explorer?  If so go into the Page drop down menu on the tool bar and make sure Compatibility View is selected.  That should help (the same thing happened to me and drove me NUTS)

Ok, that worked for me as well, thanks!

I just finished taping/mounting my inchies on the cheapo "Made in Sweden" checker board I bought at the thrift store and it is AWESOME! The inchies look great in this format and I will be forever on the hunt for more game boards to use as canvases for inchies. I can't wait to show it to you all....just waiting for two more sets.

I fell like I own real art now - even if it is one inch by one inch!

So here's who I've received from so far:  Vinnie451, bethiej78, spiffyhink, and beckashell.  I hope that the rest haven't been lost in the mail  :(  I'd be devastated if mine were lost that I had sent.  Has everyone gotten mine?

I'm still waiting for sinjah and milkmail's inchies. Sinjah hasn't received mine so I'm making replacements.

Awww, you're too sweet, you don't have to! ::fusses::
And I'm not worrying too much, people are just starting to get my packages from all my swaps. They'll get there.

I can't remember if I already made a comment about this, but
Sinjah's mail takes forever! I swapped with her over the summer and it was agonizing to wait for her to receive my package. I loved swapping with her though and the agony was worth it, hopefully for her too!

sinjah - I'm sorry I'm losing my mind what is left of it - I don't have your inchies yet but I know they will be here shortly so no worries - it takes a huge amount of time for the mail to get back and forth - I trade with another artist over your way and it always takes 3-4 weeks min.

so we still have time :)

I don't mind waiting, Sinjah...

But I am SO GLAD that you have already received mine! I was concerned they would disappear without a trace (and had a backup set ready just in case)

I agree--Sinjah's inchies are worth the wait and the anxiety!

I still find it amazing to be trading stuff with people clear around the world... :D

sorry work has gotten so nuts in the last couple of weeks didn't think to add that the swappers in that group will do a round robin for each other so they are all angels should one not want to do that I can help too :)

thanks so much for the offer though Vinnie451 and if needed I may be bugging you :)

one of the mods will fix it shortly now that they have the needed info.
