The goodies are awesome, but that envelope, front and back really rocks. We should do a poll. lol

Congrats on being the first to post pictures! Nice job on the artwork, Rougraven!
Is that a tiny hole I see? It's smart to use those tiny baggies for the buttons! Looks like some Poppets are getting some clothes!
EDIT: Postage due???? ;) Let's see if  we have a winner in the no extra postage needed category!!!! I know it wasn't me ::)

Yes, we can poll best envie, and make honorable mention to those who stay under the 44 cent postage. I think that "Honorable Mention" will be included in my feedback, though you should all get positive.

Sometimes, the post office is too lazy to put the envie through the machine, and if started flat but ended up unmachineable.

KLKing your envie is a little thick, so I'm anxious, after all that flattening to see if you get it without any postage due. The way I packed, I know that it will go under .25 inches. but if not, that is the post office error, stuff was taped to stay in place.

Well, elociNNicole did perfect with my envelope.  No "Postage Due" and everything went through fine.  I...umm....may be taking my chances, especially with machaine's.  I bought the stamps and don't plan on going to the post office, just drop them in a P.O. mail box.  I do have a digital scale, so I am more worried about thickness.

So, here is what I received from elociNNicole.

A lot of little paper goodies.  My favorites are the square image that is tree shadows that is a cat and I LOVE the paper that black with glitter.  So much fun. Thank you so much elociNNicole.

OMG, how dare I forget to mention the little bit of roving. I recently got a needle felting kit in another swap so I am unsure if I'll use this for needle felting or to add to yarns that I spin. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Yes, Very pretty!
I recieved from Lovesclutter today! ;D YEA!!! There was no extra postage required! Bonus Points for LC!!
Here's my pics.....
First, here's the beautiful work she did on the envie, with my name!

Now for the contents: I really love the metallic holiday trim! And there's holiday clipart for inchies!

Plus, a real cool music Atc, I think it's a Simon and Garfunkle song?

Not to forget, some pretty Angels in a fabric print!
Thanks Lovesclutter! Now, here's a teaser of what's coming your way....

Smuckers, I don't have any more teasers for you, but the goodies are coming!!!

Actually, that is Bob Dylan, my first ATC ever, and he sang Northern something with those lyrics. Glad no postage due. There is a #1 on the back.

Oh my gosh! Such lovely stuff in all those packages, and I truly admire those who managed to do it without postage due -- especially now that I'm trying to put together two envies that will work. (Keeping my fingers crossed.)

Love those vintage Santa images!

Everyone's packages are so great. Here's one more. I got my package from Saxonsweetie yesterday. I asked for things that I could use as inclusions for some resin jewelry & random jewelry odds/ends.

Tons of sequins, some little green balls (a lot of them tried to escape!), some charms/beads/shiny button O.O, a sheet of really cool paper, and some powdered shimmery eye shadow, perfect for resin!

Thanks so much!  :-*

I received from lovesclutter yesterday but I got home late. Without further delay, onto the loot!

A view of the whole swap package:

The back of the envelope:

Inchies and artwork by lovesclutter:

Pretty lace, *huge* sheet of music, and a cool alphabet chart:

A neat page with great detailed graphics of hands (I've got an obsession with hand imagery):

Thanks again lovesclutter- I can't wait to use it all in my altered journal!

Hello all, I got my envies from Rouge Raven, so I scanned it all and put text on it by the objects.

Here goes.

Thank you so much rougeraven. You were spot on with colors and themes. I do love that chunky house, and that will go into my poppet house. One room is Alice the bunny poppet in Wonderland, and she will have that in her room.

ETA, it arrived with a postage due, which the carrier did not collect. I measured thickness, bent at 40 degrees and it was way under the weight limit, so you will be getting an honorable mention in feedback.

I received from 1watermonkey today.  This was her first swap and she did really good on my part.  I hope she likes what I sent her as much as the things she sent me.   ;D

My goodies included sanrio patches, butteryfly patch, silky wings, string for necklaces and happy pea in the pod fabric.   ;D  How lovely to recieve this in the mail in stead of bills!

I didnt post a pic of the envelope as it was just white.  But the postage was 64 cents and none of which was due when it was delivered.

I received an awesome envelope from Sonjaboo today.

the envelope:

which held a smaller envelope filled with goodies:

There was a neat gum wrapper with a funky turtle looking thing on the back, a cute purple dragonfly, three paper hearts in funky fabrics, some mini playing cards, a plastic circle, a sun and a pair of wings made out of foil, a piece of paper with some Spanish writing on it, and three adorable inchies. I couldn't get a decent picture of the inchies, but I'll try to post one later. they were so cute.

There was also some ephemera, which I love:

And these neat plastic thingies:

And another envelope with a paper flower and a sticker, AND a paper tag.

I love everything to pieces, I just hope everything I sent is as well-received.

Wow! I've missed all of this! So much neat stuff (I'm amazed how much some folks can fit). And, the awesome envelope decorations make me glad I didn't try it myself... mine wouldn't compare well :P

lindyv- I picked up some old sheet music at a used book sale. I also got a copy of an old songbook from Princeton University, for the men's choir/chorus, I think. Not only does it have a ton of great songs in it (perfect should I ever need to use them for a themed item), but it has a bunch of neat photos in it too!

Inside the envelope there was a bunch of great papers cut to ATC size, some inchies windows and inchie bases

We also agreed to send  each other a ATC, but i forgot to stick mine in her envelope!  :-X I will send it to her!
Here is her great ATC- "Life's a Beach" and also some skinny ribbons!

Thanks so much KLKing!

I'm loving all the ephemera. I've recently gotten into altered art & now I'm scouring thrift stores for old books.

Lovesclutter- That is a "yellow polka dot" bikini! In the resin board we haven't decided whether the eyeshadow will actually color the resin, it may not be pigmented/powdered enough for that. I'm hoping that it will color it, but if not it will be "suspended," which is just as cool  ;D.

I'm so glad you like everything, Smuckers! ;D I had a hard time letting go of that ATC... It is one of my favorites! ;) And I've only made about a dozen of them. I want you to enjoy it! Can't wait to see what evolves from those papers in the ATC board.
As for the envie, I got a little carried away with all the ants and bugs, but that made it fun! I was thinking you could cut it up for something!
I've practically been sitting on my mailbox, for yours!!! ::)

On the note of resin coloring. do you ever use Koolaid? I never did any resin molding, just thought of all the bright color possibilities after reading this board. Probably an old trick you all tried long ago?  ???

I just started working with resin (in fact, I just finished my first cast!), and I was wondering the same thing. I believe that it might also just suspend, rather than mix. I totally just made a mess everywhere though. I was working fast, trying to do everything before the resin set and making sure I didn't get any of it on me, but it was fun! I learned so much from this first time.

I don't even want to think about resin as a hobby. I'm distracted enough already. 8)

Even if the powder or KoolAid floated, it should still be pretty. Can't wait to see your new passion.

Rouge Raven - I find myself wanting to plunder in your stamp collection.  LOL

Lol they are my favorite craft tool- they aren't the cheapest supplies but once you have a stamp you can use it forever. Most of my favorites are the acrylic stamps (better selection of designs and cheaper) at Michaels. The only wood mounted stamps I used for the envelopes were the dragon and corset.

Two lovely bookmarks, lots of fused plastic art and some nice ribbon.  The envelope (which was fused plastic too, very cool but I didn't get a photo as I was in the hospital using my camera phone) wasn't sealed all the way when it arrived so I hope nothing fell out!  Thanks sirmamabear!

I received from KL King.

First this awesome handpainted tyvek envelope. A large wall picture for my poppet house.

The rest of the goodies. Inchie frames for the house, a small woven rug, my very favorite red thread, 2 leather pouches and another pouch, I'm not sure what it is for though.

Thanks for being my partner K. I am going to prime that house and get as much as I can done this weekend, because I may be somewhat absent.

I got the most awesome envelope from calluna! I mentioned that I love Halloween and bookish things, and this is what she sent me:

She made the envelope out of a beautiful piece of scrapbooking paper! How brilliant is that?
Embroidery floss in my favorite color, one of my favorite vintage Halloween illustrations, awesome international stamps, a poem...

Some amazing, slightly translucent old advertisements, book-themed illustrations...

A Lotteria card! I almost bought a pack of these the other day! Pretty bookmarks. The circle and oval are a pale blue/silvery color that shines when light hits them...

A cool sardines label, cantaloupe ad, and very delicate paper within which lie fibers...

Neat photograph, illustrations, and textured cardstock...

And a perfume ad, and more literary-themed clippings!

Mars approves of this package.

AND, she fit all of this into a 44 cent envelope! I'm so lucky! Looking through the contents of my envelope felt like Christmas. Thanks again, calluna!

I received from lindyv321 today.  :) she didn't decorate the envelope so I'm not posting it, but it arrived in good shape with no postage due. Anyway here it is...

lots of Halloween images, paper squares, some flower Easter seal stickers, red envelope and a few plastic pieces... but my favorite things are these...

the skeleton card is from an I Spy game, I love spider images so I liked those labels/journaling blocks. I think the leaf is going to match a fabric beaded flower that I got in the last envelope exchange, which I have planned to put on the cover of one of my altered art journals... there's an envelope, I'm guessing you made it? it's very cute and I just love the zebra bar code... where did you get that?

Thanks for swapping with me!  :)

I received from Riffsrevenge today!

The envelope was a thick paper that I can use for paper pieces.  On the left is origami paper, beside it coordinating sequins and ribbon in pink, gold and green.  There are six glittered foam leaves in the middle, and other paper pieces.  The blue square is a holographic piece and I'm tempted to use it for an inchie background.

Thank you, riffsrevenge!  Your envelope has been sitting in the post box and should be in the sorting factory by now!

What great envelopes!  I love all these little doo-dads!

I received from both thesexyturtle and bminks, but am having trouble uploading pics to Crafster for some reason!  :P  But here is one pic that uploaded -- this is part 1 of my envelope from thesexyturtle:

There's so many goodies in there!  I am in love with that skeleton first and foremost.  :D  The paint chip sample is an awesome little matchbox book with my name on the papers -- love it!  The hearts appear to be knitted (?) and felted and are so soft!  But I really love everything.  The other picture that I can't get to upload shows some origami papers, ribbons and a few other doo dads I believe.  I am going to give it all another go tomorrow!  I'm sorry I can't get this to work tonight -- please feel free to post a photo if you have one, tst!

Also, will hopefully have pics up of the goodies from bminks! She sent along some great ephemera and goodies that I can't wait to use!

Thank you so much ladies!  This has been a great swap!  ;D

Geez, A lot is going on today! :D I don't know where to start! Everyone has such different goodie "bags". They are all so great! I never knew so much could go in an envelope! :D
First, ;D Let me announce I recieved an awesome envie from Smuckers9, and I still have to take pictures. I'll be back with those a little later tonight!! ;)
Next... LC, I think it's so funny you didn't figure it out right away that RED THING was a couch! The instructions should be there tomorrow! It's really easy, I stuffed it and took photos, they're in your e-mail. That was the lining side up in your pic-I used nylon on the bottoms and back to cut the weight down! That's the only way it got in that envie under an ounce.(But I really didn't want to smash it TOO much).
How did I know? It just came to me!LOL! ;)
Smuckers... ;) I'm making you a special suprise, you aren't going to be outdone by LC! It wouldn't fit in the first one!
Now, I'm off to take pictures of Smucker's Envie!!! ;D

I got some pics of my envie from Smuckers9. Since it's inside at night, the lighting isn't the best, but I edited it the best I could! :-[
First, the envie, front and back. The blue is one of my favorite colors! And it's so pretty! I really got excited when I saw it! :) :D ;D

Here's some of the paper and stickers she sent me:Sorry... this one had the worst lighting!

And. a lot of really great holiday stickers, cut outs, and novelties. I'd really like to know the story behind that film negative! ??? ???

I don't know what I love the most, the envie or the contents! Thanks, Smuckers! This was really a lot of fun! I hope everyone posts the things they make out of all thier stuff... I know I will!

Calluna, thanks for crediting that. I loved that too, and thought, one day, alas too little time. 8)

Sirmamabear, if you see that something fell out, feel free to resend. That is an option on any broken envie. LOL

TODAY IS SEND OUT DAY. so pm me if your status is wrong on the discussion thread.

I am so glad you all joined.

I'd really like to know the story behind that film negative! ??? ??

The film negative is a picture I took on a trip to Mexico. I used the negatives for another project and had a bunch of the end pieces. I love using them in my paper crafts..

I too love the barcode item, and the cute matchbooklet, and all the stickers  :o  I *heart* stickers!  I have a feeling my envie from one or both of my partners was in yesterday's mail...came home dog tired...again...from working OT last night, and went straight to a plate of food, then shower, then bed.  I promise I will open up my mail tonight, as I'm only doing 2hr OT today and will be home a bit after 6 and should still have some sun left to get pics in good natural light.

Panthermoon, I am glad you liked your goodies.  I did make the envelope and the zebra barcode came from a random stack of paper goodness I got at a thrift store.

Wow everyone managed to fit so much in!

I had started to get worried my envelope had got lost somewhere but no! It arrived this morning and can't believe the amazing things I was sent!

First the envelope had cute little fingerprint rats all over them ;D

All the items together:

DoodleLou sent me googly eyes, big disney stickers (my favorite one has to be Dumbo!), small fabric panels, a gorgeous red glass pendant, an adorable needle felted rat :D and she even included a land rover patch for my husband! He is going to be so happy when I show him lol. I think its a transfer?

Here are my favorites, the pendant and the little rat now named Ernie (Don't ask me why, first name that came to me!)

Thank you so much DoodleLou, I couldn't have gotten anything more me in an envelope even if I filled one myself.

Your organizer totally messed up and screwed Sarcastra out of an envelope. She sent two. I am going to angel my mistake, and I want to publicly apologize for this mistake.

Anyone else want to angel as a surprise,  pm me. There will be no angel status for this, but I really feel bad.

So today is my Birthday!  And what do I get in the mail today?  A birthday card from my insurance man.  :P And a SWAP Envelope!!  ;D  Which one do you think made me happier?    ;D

Yaaahh!

I got a FANTABULOUS envelope from Craftsy!  I can't believe all the stuff she got in there! And boy, oh boy....did I ever get stalked but good!  Craftsy really did some homework on me!

Check out the swappy goodness:
Feathers, ribbon, crystals, a Honey bee die cut! (so totally cool!), a bicycle sticker, paper flowers and buttons!

One of the best things:
A Ringo Starr cell phone charm!  On a domino!  LOVE IT!
Ringo is my main man!

And would you just look at this really awesomely crafted needle envelope!
IT'S AN ENVELOPE!  Talk about getting into the theme of the swap!  This is so schweeet!

The inside:

AND Leaf skeletons!  These things are sooo cool.  So, so cool.  I love them!  How do they get like that?

AND!!!! Can you believe there's even more?  Look at this!

Orgami instructions and papers to play with!  Isn't that the coolest?

THank you, thank you, thank you, Craftsy!  It was a great envelope!  You did a great job on stalking me and my likes, including my favorite colors!!

BTW: I'm thrilled that you like the little rat!  I love that you named him Ernie!  I hope you were able to squish him back into a rounder shape.....He had to get pretty flattened in transit!   ::)

I am glad you liked everything. Did you have to pay postage? If so I will send it to you as I am sure I was over 1/4 inch. Your envelope had postage due but I never did have to pay. Whats the point ::)

I received TWO envelopes in the mail...

The first was amazingly dissapointing, as it was my OWN swap envelope I sent to Habitat-Lady, with a return-to-sender sticker attached. I weighed the envelope using the digital scale at the post office and it was EXACTLY 1.00 ounce, so I'm going to assume the "uneven thickness" did it.

Instead of adding an additional 20 cents, I repackaged in a new envelope (removing some of the awkwardly shaped things and adding some more flat things) and re-stamped (because the post office drew a thick black line through my original stamp - grr), and re-sent. ATTEMPT 2!! GO!

---

Good news, I also RECEIVED a fantastic envelope from CraftADDChick at the same time!

The envelope arrived with no postage due - hooray! At first I thought she used more than 44 cents, but it turns out that there was one 42 cent stamp, and two 1 cent stamps.

It was filled with lots of paper goods & ACT materials. A fabric scrap, some mini-playing cards, some sheet music, what looks like homemade paper, some recycled materials, and a Bruce Lee patch!!

Thank you SOOOO much for all the goodies! <3

Nope, I didn't have any postage due on my envelope from you....but I'm sorry there was postage due on yours.  I know it was a little on the light side, but it must have been too wide. So sorry.  Can I mail the you the difference?

Rubber stamp, huh?  Really?  That's extra neat-o!  It was cool as a sticker in the first place but a rubber stamp is awesome!

No need to send any money as I was never charged! Would they have just come to the door to ask for it? It just seems a lot of hassle all for 20c, my postal lady probably realised it and didn't bother.

Wow, I completely missed the gallery! There are some awesome things here.
Just a note on postage due: Your mail carrier should have put an envelope in your mailbox for you to put the money in. I owed 20 cents on an envelope from one of my partners for the last 44 cent swap, and there was a little brown envelope waiting for me.

Title: Re: 44 Cent Swap Rd 3 Gallery
Post by: malmow on October 11, 2009 08:12:29 AM
I received from lindyv321. Everything is intact and no postage due! Sorry for the crappy pictures, but it's yucky outside today.
There are some flash cards, a Halloween treat bag, some stickers/seals, a paint chip, some neat chipboard shapes, a tiny piece of fake money, some checkers, and the piece on the right with all the family members is vellum, I think.

A closeup. I love the bluebird card and the envelope. Is that Lyle the crocodile?

I really love the piece that says PIG OUT too.

I realized that I shouldn't have had such swap anxiety because part of what's so cool about swapping paper goods is that you might think its boring and have tons of them but someone else might just love it! I have so much great stuff for my altered journal now.
There is also a fortune from a fortune cookie that says, "Accept the next proposition you hear." I've actually received this fortune before, and it's taped into my journal because it has a special kind of funny meaning. I love that I have another one now.
Also, there is a similarity between mine and lindy's envelopes that I think is kind of funny, but I'm not going to spoil the surprise.
Oh, and I don't think I sent it but I was going to so I don't mind telling you this: I almost sent you some miniature chess pieces. I think that's funny since you sent me checkers. But they were kind of thick and I didn't want to have to take up weight reinforcing, etc. I sent you lots of other (hopefully) cool stuff though.
Thanks for the awesome envelope Lindy!

I got my mail last night and found that I had received both my envelopes.  ;D ;D  Here are pictures:

My envelope from MissMoppet did get damaged in the mail, but I do not think anything went missing as it was packed in there well, although it did tear some of her decorations off :( . She sent me some cute stationary, pink and black polka dot fabric, some stickers, and some really cute Hello Kitty tattoos. :)  Thanks MissMoppet, I loved my envelope!

My envelope from TheSapphireMoon also came. It was decorated really cute, love the jellyfish on the back.  :)  She sent a bunch of neat small fabric bits that will be great for appliqueing, reallly cute stickers, and ribbon.  :)  Thank You TheSapphireMoon, I loved this envelope as well!

Thanks to both my partners and the organizers, this was a wonderful first time swap, I had fun, and I can definitely see how swapping could get addictive!   ;D

Well, I glad the envelope made it and that nothing was lost.  Although, from the damage on the envelope it makes me think that someone perposely did thst to see if there was anything of value to steal.  Maybe not, but that much damage makes me think that.

If only we all lived near each other. I'd propose a stamping party where we'd all bring our collection to share for a day.

I wish we did, my town is a black hole. Open call to all Maryland crafters: I want an art journaling group in Harford county!

It's actually funny you mention the owl, because I totally know where he comes from! I'm a huge fan of owls, (perhaps my partner did some stalking), but he matches the gift tag from a gift bag that I received a gift in a while back. I sent my tag as an extra in the bird swap last month. It's Funny how things come full circle.

LOL! I did do a teeny bit of stalking and saw that you were in some bird/owl related swaps. So, when I cut the tag off of my new owl print lunch  bag, I knew I had to send it to you!

And, I didn't make the Bruce Lee patch- I got him in a personal swap with KitKat ages ago. I got 3 different ones, and I kept one for myself...

I am so glad that everything made it safely! I was a bit worried about shifting and jamming. And, I'm sorry you got an envelope back (but I'm glad mine hasn't been returned, yet- hope I get it on Tuesday).

I am, once again, waaaaaay impressed with what folks managed to fit into their envelopes: a rock pendant, a needle felted rat, plastic skeleton, domino pendant! Amazing!

Here is the awesome contents of my envelope from craftADDchick.  Thank you so much - I love all of it.

Sheet music ( already have a plan for that!) a hibiscus flower tag, a cool holiday frog with matching paper, a Hell Bank Note, some awesome paper, one with a orange and old stamping.  a little green rubber duck, too cute! That fabulous purple felt pin-up and a pressed leaf that is going on a scrapbook page tomorrow night  ;)

Here is a better pic of my pin-up.

Here is a better shot of the cute frog and this awesome paper with purple and pink sparkly orbs.

This is some colorful ant paper and some awesome cards.  The two little squares are stickers, the photos just don't do them justice.

This page is actually the size of a national geographic page.  I have screwed around with trying to get it turned the right way for over 30 minutes in three programs. I'm now tired of trying, so forgive me, but please cock your head to the side and enjoy.
I love the images on both sides, so I'm going copy both sides onto some aged paper with a color copier.

1watermonkey - I love that fabric with the scorpion on it.

Actually, I love so much of everything, :D - Its amazing how much cool goodies and the variety can be packed in an envelope.

And prettyinpaisley - don't sweat the envelope stuff - this will give me time to figure out my tech issues and posting the envelope you send. All things happen for a reason!   I do wish you didn't have to pay postage twice, though.

If any stampers want to exchange stamped paper, (another 44 cent?) we could probably post a library of our stamps, pick the ones we like, stamp each others paper and send.  I'm sure we could work something out to share stamps long distance!  ;)

You're right! That is truly the best! I can't wait to see it installed in its house!

And, habitat-lady, I almost couldn't part with that old magazine page. Your idea to photocopy it is a brilliant one (and I wish I'd thought of it!). The frog and cardstock pieces are the last pieces from the set of Christmas cards I made a few years ago. The Betty Page patch is from a personal swap (I kept one of Amelie) and the purple and pink sparkly orbs piece is cut from the front of one of my birthday cards.

And for both you and PrettyInPaisley, the handmade looking paper and the money paper is from a pack of paper I bought in Chinatown while visiting San Francisco a few years ago. I forgot I had it, and the first time I opened it was for this swap- lots of neat stuff in the package! The leaf is from a camping trip in VT back in 1994...

So the scanner idea didn't work. Something is apparently wrong with my printer. Maybe it doesn't like Windows 7. Idk. lol But I took some pictures with my cell phone and they didn't turn out too bad!

Here is what the wonderful Varifiresis sent me!!

A Twilight bookmark!!! I <3 Twilight.  ;D
I love the attention to detail in the bookmark. She colored all the red parts with what looks like a sparkly red gel pen. It really makes it pop.

Here's another of the bookmark. Sorry it's a bit blurry.
It's really sturdy too. The writing in the background is a page of the book.  ;D

Next is the cutest little patch! I can't wait to use it.

Some tropical rub on transfers!

And my second favorite is the iron on! It's a very pretty blue color with cute little birds on it. It's really soft too!

Thank you so much Varifiresis! I love everything. Great 1st time swapper right here!!!  ;D ;D

And then I have a question. Is anyone else having issues with Craftster today? Everytime I type the reply box jumps around. It's like scrolling all by it's self so I can't see what I'm typing. It's driving me up the wall!

It's a real easy pattern I made, and it was originally going to be bigger, but I was thinking the size of a Barbie doll, Hoping that the scale would suit the house.
I  guess I need to learn how to use my scanner ! Then people can print off thier patterns. I'm thinking of really getting into making miniatures.
I'll try to work on that

Here are the goodies I received from ohiodiygirl!

Glitter, lovely ribbon, a puffy heart, big orange safety pins, and, best of all, tiny keys! So cool!
The glitter kinda spilled, so I sprinkled some on my dog and elsewhere around the house like fairy dust.  :D Thankfully the majority of it is still contained; I'm not sure where the bag is leaking so I'm putting it somewhere safe until I use it.  :) The smaller baggie with glitter on it contains little metallic star confetti--but I have to leave it in place for now or it will also be difficult to contain...so you can't see it but you'll have to take my word for it!

Thank you!  :-*

Thanks, SaxonSweetie! That envie just sort of happened, I really didn't know what I was going to do! But I knew red is LC's favorite color.
Actually, my original idea was to paint an image as if looking out a framed window, to the outside, with some lace curtains and a stick rod, but somehow this couch thing jumped in my head. It actually was easier (For Me)than doing detailed realistic art. That part of my creative brain was disengaged! So she got this Red Thing Instead!
My daughter promised to walk me thru using my scanner, which is what I bought that printer model for in the first place; (Another Mental Block there!) So, once i've got the steps down, I'll put up the pattern and instructions.
So, does anyone know where I'd want to post it?
k

Glitter, lovely ribbon, a puffy heart, big orange safety pins, and, best of all, tiny keys! So cool!
The glitter kinda spilled, so I sprinkled some on my dog and elsewhere
Thank you!  :-*
I really love that ribbon and keys...and the glitter... well, I guess she TRIED to contain it! I wonder if those tiny keys actually open anything?

It was so nice to come home from work (I'm brain dead) and see 3 pages of new posts.

K, I love that you posted pics. If you send me images of the patterns, I can make them into pdfs that you can email, or you can make sure they are on 8.5 x 11 paper, and post. Just tell people to scale to whole page. Unfortunately, images always get shrunk on here. I have tried to alter the code to make my images real size, and it never works, tho some manage to post a large image. Go figure.

To all, unless you are in a real hurry for feedback, it may take me a few days to catch up. I got a few of them up last night.

This has got to be the fastest growing gallery around!  Good grief! I think there's five new pages since I was last here -- everyone has some great envelopes!

I am still having trouble uploading two of my pics -- the last pic from thesexyturtle and one pic from bminks.  But I have three others of things from bminks, so you guys can get a good idea of how much she managed to stuff in there! :D

A great bookmark, kitty charm, packing tape transfer (I think? it's definitely a transfer), paper goodies:

Pirate flag, cards, spiral embellishment:

Awesome vintage ladies!

Thank you so much! I love everything! And I apologize again for my photo problems. I really don't know what the deal is here. :-[

Oh boy! I received the envelope from loves2experiment today, and she is a champion stalker. Everything is exactly to my taste. Squee!

First off, the envelope arrived in great shape with no postage due.

She made it from a recycled piece of paper that looks like HP printing instructions. And it fit the contents exactly, so I would say she folded it around them and then glued it together. Just guessing, of course.

And on to the delights I found inside. All together:

Closeups. These beautiful papers:

On on the reverse sides, more cool patterns:

More goodies:

There was a lovely big piece of watercolored paper. Did you paint this, loves2experiment? It's so pretty. And a real pressed leaf, which unfortunately was damaged in shipping. But it will still have a home here, don't worry. I love it!

And, some cute little leafy punched shapes. Green print on one side, cream print on the other.

AND, a fashionable tiny drawstring bag with a leafy design. It even has a gusset, so I had to turn it inside out to see how it was made:

She just turned up the bottom a little bit before sewing it. So easy. It's fun to learn new things in the Craftster classroom, eh?

But wait, there's more!

Textured paper with two friendly walking-away elephants. A piece of yummy blue textured paper. A quotation printed on vellum, "The way to be happy is to make others so." Three little embossed garden theme squares that I adore. And a paper cutout with more inspirational words.

Ahhhh. I feel so good. Relaxed and spoiled. Thank you so much, loves2experiment. It doesn't get any better than this.

I'm glad you liked everything saxonsweetie. Most people never believe me when I say this but those specific charms were made with regular old #6 plastic. The kind that salad bar containers are made out of. I printed the images right onto it. I sent you some real shrink plastic though, the good stuff  ;)

I have to ask,and I still have the sheet you sent me, but how do you find salad bar containers that are flat enough to run through a printer???

I am loving all of the awesome papers and loves2experiment, that envie is just great. Great way to recycle wasted sheets.

Just thought I'd mention this:(and I haven't tried it at home)
At a company I worked for years back, the owner had a huge office style printer. I got"cleaver and decided to try an experiement. I taped a flat silk..to a piece of card stock. not the thin china silk, the next grade up with more body... Shantung... and ran it thru his printer. IT WORKED! I found that it had to be taped real flat, and tight, or it would get jammed up. The ink faded soon, but it lasted long enough to do some artwork, or other embellishments to it.
Also, I ran that insignia cloth thru my own printer. Here's what happened:
without spraying a sealer, the ink was fuzzy. But once it was sealed, with a clear spray, Dry, of course, it worked great! I was printing stick-on labels with my contact info for my air dancers I make.
BTW: Lc knows what it is, but insignia cloth is a smooth, even weave fabric, with a sticky back. It has a peel-off backing, for sign makers, and commercial applique, like boat sails, etc. I use it on my windsocks to cut out designs.
I have not tried to run any plastic thru my printer. My only concern is the ink would smear???
would you have to spray that too?
K

In good ol' Maryland we luckily have 2 salad bar container sizes. The little ones, and then the gigantic ones. They have flat tops and bottoms and I cut those out, they wind up being about the size of a sheet of paper. #6 plastic is fairly thin, so it'll go through almost all printers.

KLKing- Yes, isn't that amazing. I hate when you get charged a crazy amount for something, like custom printed fabric or the expensive special 'print on fabric' kits but I've seen a lot of homemade printed fabric, especially here on craftster. I haven't given it a try, but I wanted to try my hand at some.

Wouldn't that be an awesome swap! To print out fabric we've designed ourselves to send, OOAK and a good excuse to try it.  ;D

As long as it's big enough! You may need to spray a fixative, like "MarkerFix" or something comparable. But try taping it down, I think those pieces I sent you were rather on the small side. I just tried printing black on white. It might not show up good on the red and blue and black.   If you want bigger pieces, we can do a large envelpoe P.S. I can send white or even some sticker vinyl.

From experience, it did not work for me.  I used an inkjet printer and it just beaded up and smeared.   I'm afraid to try it on a laser printer.  I may have melted some clear plastic in one at work.   :-\  I'm not sure how to do it then.  I think it would be awesome if someone could think of a way to make it stick.

How did she know that I'm collecting a bunch of inchies for a collage? :D  Yes, that is a Tare Panda inchie! ;D  She also sent an awesome selection of papers and stickers to fuel my papercrafting endeavors :D

zcrafter, thanks for being such a wonderful swap partner! :-*

I received an AMAZING envelope from Habitat-Lady today!

The envelope was torn open on one edge, but I'm pretty sure everything managed to stay sealed in - but I hope nothing escaped. Here are my fantastic goodies:

Let me just say, that my partner did a fantastic job stalking me!

-Lots of bird/s related things, including a peacock feather!
-Orange Homemade paper
-A poem about the swap experience, and being addicted to craftster.
-Some paper goods including quotes about friendship, and a washington apple image!
-a beautiful crafted bookmark of a mountain (perhaps one found in my home state?)

-and perhaps my favorite items: a set of four Kama Sutra Inchies! My first ever inchies! OMG!

Seriously, I've been spoiled in this swap! Two of the best partners ever! Now, I'm having swap anxiety about my envelopes compared to the two I've received. I hope they're received well.

The last two set of inchies are awesome!!

Interesting topic here ladies....You've got me thinking of making my own custom book cloth out of any cotton prints. Now I just have to find a permanent spray glue and a paper sturdy enough to withstand the spray stuff but thin enough that it doesn't bulk up the book after being folded. *uber excited*

Both of my envelopes came in yesterday's mail  ;D And they are wonderful!

Very pretty envelope from CjSachiko

Lots of wonderful goodies! My favorite is the doilies (I've been thinking about them) and the fiber! My mind is running, what will I make with it....:)

A gorgeously decorated tyvek envelope from MunLtStmpr! She drew all this stuff on there!

And the contents! I'm amazed at how much stuff she managed to cram in there! My favorite are the little bindis and the earrings.

Thank you two so much for the awesome envelopes!

I love the Kama Sutra inchies!  I must have some.

I had a fabulous mail day yesterday and received two envies.

The first was from Village_Diva
She sent me a funny cartoon and postcard from Epcot.  The cartoon is going to be altered

Next were some super cute Halloween themed cardstock.  They are so cute I don't even want to cut them up.

Finally I got some buttons, I love buttons.  AND the most fabulous Mario mushroom pendant.  I think it's a shrinky??

Next up was an envie from panthermoon who stalked me like crazy! Butterflies, skulls, sparrows, and Pooh Bear!  I don't even know how she managed to stuff that envelope so full.
Here are two photos of the envelope

An inchie which I love and a temp tattoo of a sparrow.  I have been wanting to get sparrows tattooed on me but couldn't find the right one.  I think this is the right one!

I love everything in both envies but my faves are the Mario mushroom, the skull fabric and the sparrow tattoo.

Thank you both so much for the wonderful surprises!

Holy cow! I am continually amazed by what is being sent to everyone! Every single time I check the gallery, I get new ideas for future rounds...

Yesterday, I came home to 2 fantastic envelopes from my partners- no damage, no extra postage needed!

First, from Prettty In Paisley:

A photo of Betty Davis, a couple of feathers, a stamped owl, a glittery leaf, some foam cut-outs, a friendship bracelet, a fortune from a fortune cookie, some cool papers and borders and (my favorite) an old photo (dated May '60) of ducks/geese on a lake.  Thanks so much! I am thinking of how to use them all in an altered journal I have yet to start...

And then, from habitat-lady:

Some handmade paper (some even embossed with images, including frogs and lizards), a pond-ful of frogs painstakingly cut from magazine pages, 2 science experiment cards, a poem about swapping (so clever), a vintage label sticker, some squares of mulberry paper (I think), some more bits of ephemera and an amazing little painting (close-up shot below)! Thank you so much, habitat-lady! Once again, the mind is reeling with ideas for my journal...

i just don't understand how people sent soooooo much while still not owing postage- i had to weigh mine like 10 times and take out half the load =( Hopefully mypartners will still love them!
on another note- i received from tattooedcrafter today! The envelope DID have postage due- but wasn't decorated so i'm not going to post it.... on to the goodies!!!!

i got colored paper squares (awesome! I always use this!) cutouts of flowers, birds, and butterflys, and two bookmarks!....

Thanks so much tattooedcrafter!

I received from CjSachiko today and what a beautiful collection!  Did you mean to have the blue theme or is that my head making connections by itself?

There's embroidery floss, the prettiest paper clips I've ever seen, sticky jems, prismatic stickers, a sewing kit and a first aid kit (they're both heading to the office), doilies, a double-sided bookmark (the other side has the same design as the envelope), blank ATCs and a completed beautiful ATC and lastly what I couldn't stop playing with... a "1 layer of a silk hankie."  That's the blob of fiber that's made of my favorite colors of blues, greens and purples but it's so soft, I can barely feel it with my fingers!!  Please expound on that... do you really make a hankie with it?  HOW??!  Thank you, CJ!  I also showed the inside of the envelope as that will make great inchie bases.

And Noooitaremybirthday's envelope arrived yesterday.  I can't believe how much you fit in there!  The envelope was stamped with a school of silvery fish, the sheet with the picture of kite flying is back by the image directly above it that looks like a giant pile of mechanical junk.  It's going to be hard to decide which side to use.  Also there is a sheet of German text and a peek at a larger picture of a very vintage, size-of-a-room computer.

and there is more!  Large scraps of fabric, inchies, tags, bookmark, fabric ATC, shrinkies and stickers.  Thank you so much, Noo!

Thank you all for another amazing Craftster swap!  I think there's a VERY high probability now that all my crafty mailings will be stuffed to the gills to use every bit of that 1st class mailing ounce!

One request, if you don't mind... please, please sign or somehow ID the pieces you create! You put in time, energy and effort to create even the tiny inchies and you should be recognized, so to speak.

Both envelopes arrived intact with no postage due.

I am curious about the poem about swapping. :)

Me too!

If habitat-lady doesn't mind, I can post it, but she might want to keep it as a special surprise for her future swap partners... ;)

I love the idea (and look) of the color-themed package!
This swap is so great--so inexpensive, yet enough to get excited about when the mail arrives! I sent very few items to ohiodiygirl because they were heavy, so it probably wasn't so thrilling.  :-[

I received from paper rose, and it's clear that this gal did an extremely thorough study of my profile when she put all this together!

first, the rainbow striped envelope; which was kinda like this on the front too:

all these images, plus baggie of iridescent glitter, plus iridescent thread, plus mother of pearl (opalescent) button...i looove these kinds of finishes!  ;D
ETA - the white sheet underneath is actually for shrinky dinks! Yeeaaaaaah!

more papers and a gorgeous ATC!

and finally, a page from an old novel called "Strange Lovers" and all these vintage images of strange lovers! along with the London Underground map--

it DID go over 44 cents, but only by $.20 or so! i love it all...thanks to both my swap partners!

I am curious about the poem about swapping. :)

Me too!

If habitat-lady doesn't mind, I can post it, but she might want to keep it as a special surprise for her future swap partners... ;)

Here is the poem for all of you to share.  I used the paper it was on to hold the swap loot!  It's kind of long, and I hope everyone enjoys it.

I’m addicted to “Crackster.org

There, I’ve said it.  It’s true.
I’ve got a dependency, and I think you might too!

How else would we meet, in a covert, online fashion?
Than by swapping our “stuff”, our creations, our passion.

I sent in my info. Pursing my lips,
And keep checking back, “Am I on the swap list?”

Within a few minutes, I can hardly believe,
THAT is my name – OK.  Now I can breathe!

Then come the partners, I’ll take two please.
The craft room starts buzzing like a full hive of bees.

And I spy and I stalk.  I seek every detail.
Likes and dislikes – I’m hot on the trail.

As the stash comes together, I stare at the floor.
Geez, I have enough for 10 people or more.

So the packages are filled, taped, addressed and stamped
And now to go screw with that Post Office Vamp.

It’s perfect on weight! Psst - I’ve made the drop.
Sent is my message, and I give myself props.

So now I worry and fret, “Crap! Did I send enough?
Will she love it, or hate it?  Will she think its good stuff?”

Is all of this worth it?  Oh yeah, you bet!
I haven’t had a bad partner yet.

I did put off dinner, the laundry, the floors.
Now I’ll admit it, I’m just a craft whore.

Oh, I'm so glad you like it, Calluna! The pale blue paper with silvery flowers came from Japan. That's my first ATC, too--I think I'm hooked now. I've created lots of blank cards to work with.

I'm having anxiety about my envelopes now. Everyone is getting such awesome stuff--including me!
I received from panthermoon today, and she definitely stalked me a tiny bit. I am in love with everything.

Front of the envelope, a giraffe sticker, (I love giraffes) and some embellishments and animal paper.

Back of the envelope, another giraffe, some vintagey images, which I'm also obsessed with right now, and some ticket stubs, which I have been picking up off the ground and out of trashcans because I love them so much...I think the lined one on the bottom right is one of my favorite ones ever.

Some wine labels, (I have a lot of wine-related things in my kitchen) some embellishments, more vintage pictures, and part of a book page that looks like Greek. I got a page from a Greek math textbook in a swap once, so this will go right along with it!
Everything is truly wonderful and suited to my tastes and I thank you very much, panthermoon!

I received from Malmow yesterday and it's a great envelope too.  :) She didn't  decorate it, but she didn't go over on postage either.

First there's this...

there's some sheet music with scales, polka dot paper, a travel paper that is embossed and glittery you can't tell it in the photo and the map paper..

there's several small images, a playing card, brass brads, tissue paper, fiber etc.

these were actually in the cute little envelope that she made, but I put them in a plastic bag to scan them...there are several different shapes.. hearts, cactus, boots & hats ...

my favorite pieces are the brads, map & fiber, but it's all going to come in handy for my journaling  :)

Thanks for swapping with me!

Also glad to see my envelopes have arrived too :)

Malmow, i love those little vintage tags.
Calluna, that is an awesome ATC
Honestly, I see things I like in every envelope

I am so amazed by how much fits in an envelope and I have seen so many cool things during this swap.   And the ideas flowing from it - just outstanding.

lovesclutter and tattoedcrafter - you have done a fabulous job with this one.

I bet Crafster's going to make that thier official Anthem Poem!
Great envelopes everyone!
How about a round of large padded envelopes now? We could keep the postage set at $4.95 flat rate, or less! I'm sure it was really tough having to hold back on those 1 oz. limits!

the smallest priority flat rate boxes are $4.95 too aren't they? I'd be interested if it's not more than that. :)

In in for that too, I saw a swap discussion about a fill a flat rate box, but I think they do the medium or large size. I think the smaller size would be nice though, just to keep with the frugal-ness of the whole 44 cent idea.

Do they do the flat rate at $5 regardless of weight? Cuz that could get interesting...

OK...I'm finally posting what I received yesterday from Verifiresis. :)

Here is a picture of da loot:

-She sent me a really groovy wine bottle label. Which I am trying to decide if I want to put on a bottle or craft with.
-A nifty crafted Halloween picture frame.
-And a face mask with the international symbol for blood-borne biohazard stamped on it. :)  Ok so the last one may confuse some people...I'm a huge zombie fan and that's the symbol they used in 28 Days Later.
-Oh and the note she added (it's what's inside the picture frame) has a couple pieces of clip art. One is a zombie hello kitty (awesome!) The other is my own zombie pimp icon. hehe. I'll definatly add those to my journal.

Here is a close up of the mask:

One more step in the first line of defense against zombies! :

Thanks Verifiresis! It's all a bunch of fun stuff and definatly me. :)

Do they do the flat rate at $5 regardless of weight? Cuz that could get interesting...
The USPS has a $4.95 option as either a small box, or an envelope. And the weight limit is 75 lbs. for any size package. So you could send a gold brick if you wanted to! Also, regular priority mail, not flat rate, starts at the same price.
The times you would not want to use the flat rate are in the case of larger items that are light weight. You will get off cheaper. But you have to deal with that decision one package at a time.
I'm only suggesting the cheapest option, to stay in the low-cost spirit.
I have recently sent and recieved the smallish padded envelopes
for about $2.25, but that was regular first class mail, and they were slightly larger than our 44cents items. Those are weighed and priced individually, because they fall in-between categories. So, it's hard to say $2.00 envie, when it could actually be $3.50. But, that is the next size up, before the flat-rate sizes, and would be a great size category for our purposes.

I received from raeraethejetplane yesterday!  I got some pretty cool stuff!

I think the envelope was pretty awesome:

A picture of everything (fabric scrap, buttons, lace, and some ribbon):

A close up of one of the best buttons:

Sorry for the fuzzy pictures!  I didn't get the mail until late last night, so the lighting wasn't very good.  I can't wait to use the fabric, it's actually quite long, it's folded in the picture.  Unfortunately, the envelope arrived with postage due (95 cents) but I think it's because of the thickness.  It felt like everything shifted to the middle, but that's okay!

First off all the stuff that has been received thus far has been great!  I am jealous of all the vintage pictures that have been received.

I would totally love to do a swap with the small flat rate boxes.  I am actually the one who started the discussion for the fill a box which was for a medium sized box.  Going smaller would be fabulous though too.  I had said I wasn't going to do anymore swaps but I don't know that I could resist.

I received a wonderful envelope from malmow last night.  We both sent each other handmade envelopes.  Great minds I tell ya! I love the one she sent me since it's made from a sheet of music!

Here is everything all together.

The inchies she made me which I love!  My collection is really growing!

Here is another inchie that didn't make it in the first picture, some confetti, a wood chip L for Lindy and a brad with an L on it.

Thank you so much to all three of my partners.  You all outdid yourselves and I hope to see you around the other boards.

I received both my envelopes and they are lovely.

The first one is from MunLtStmpr-
The envelope (front and back):

The contents included bits of fabric, earrings, inchies, an ATC, ephemera, and stickie jewels.  My favorite things are the bindhi and the ATC.-

The second envelope is from noooitaremybirthday-
(I didn't get a picture of the envelope but it was a pretty purple stamped with silver fishes.)
The contents included a bookmark, bits of ephemera and fabric, inchies, shinky dink tags, fun mini tag art, and an ATC.  My favorite things are the inchies and the shrinky dink tags.-

As for the single layer of a silk hankie I sent them both, one can knit directly from it as you pull a strand out, or spin it up.http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/FEATsilkhankies.html (http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/FEATsilkhankies.html)

Thanks for hosting lovesclutter, and thanks for swapping with me MunLtStmpr and noooitaremybirthday!

I was beginning to get a bit **gulp** nervous that our old-fashioned ways here in Vermont meant that I was going to wait until spring to see my envie arrive...! Then here it comes out of my mailbox today, thank goodness, so I can quit worrying.
The spread is thus:
With my favorites singled out for featuring here:  a gorgeous frame that is already on my fridge:
and a kitty cat bookmark that I keep staring at because it pleases me so!!

I also have new colored feathers to have fun with, 2 crocheted hearts for my sweater, more bookmarks, because I always have more than one book going in several rooms (and now in 2 houses, even) and h'ween paperclips.
Thank you froggmomma!

I meant to separate the inchies, Lindy, but I didn't. Only the four inchies with borders are ones I made, the rest are backgrounds I made for you to make inchies.
I really thought I did more than four though...I'm going to have to take a look around my craft table.
Then the stamps are just thrown in because who doesn't love postage stamps?

From Kurtzie:

I really love the cell phone charm and the red and green paper :D
The resin bottle cap is awesome and really makes we want to try messing around with resin.
From Tattooedcrafter:

There is a TON of paper here, and some cute little die cuts and bookmarks!

I would love a $4.95 swap!  I greatly overestimated how much an ounce is and the quarter inch guide was really challenging.

If you all don't mind me asking.. where do you get your fabric scraps??!  I always just assumed (incorrectly maybe) that the smallest amount of fabric that you can buy is a quarter of a yard.  I did once upon a time get fabric samples at the Boston Recycle Store but that's 5 hours away and the stuff changes.

Great swap, everyone!

From larger pieces that I bought from where ever :)  I save my fabric scraps if they are a decent size, or sometimes even if they are 2x2 at least!  I have a plastic bag that I hang on the handles of a library/bookshelf that I have and fill it up throughout my projects :)  I pull from it when sending out on swaps if someone is looking for scraps or I use them for applique work.

Wow So much amazing stuff since I last visited. I love all the ATCs that have been posted and the shrinky dinks are GORGEOUS. That crackster poem is also very great. :D Thank you for sharing!!

I received! Not only did I get a postage due receipt but I got an envie too! I'm sure the postage due is because of the buttons...Poo :( rainbowmeow, I even took some stuff out and weighed the items under a book to flatten them.

Today I got yeaaahtoast's envie. Or was it yesterday? I was at the boyfriend's yesterday so I dunno.

Pictured are two vintage photos with a scrap of fabric. I think I'll be putting these on some journal covers :D! There is also the back of the envelope with bicycles. I'm bike crazy and I can't seem to draw them right EVER. Her's are so nice. Speaking of bike crazy she sent me a cross stitch patch with vitamin water!!! I am uber excited. Not sure where I will put this. I fear sewing into my bike bag will jeopardize the water-proofness. Also, some lavender. Can you steep this like a tea? I woke up with crazy puffy eyes today and had plans to come home and put cold tea bags over them. And lastly, beautiful embriodery floss which will probably also be used for some book binding. Thank you so much!! I hope you like the envelope I sent just as much as I enjoy mine.

Teehee! I'm SO GLAD you liked everything!!! Now that i know i can get away with that thickness, i will have to stuff more next time!

Yes, you can use the lavender any way you want, it's organic! I included the muslin in case you wanted to make your own teabags or sachet for the unmentionables drawer. The old photos are etchings from Winslow Homer!

44cent SWAP RULES!!!! ;D ;D ;D

And inside the envelope some Alice inchies! Soo amazing! Did you design these people you'reself? These are totally now some of my favorite inchies!! And sign language numbers (did you know I wanted to learn sign?) and stretchy leopard print fabric!

I feel terrible that I did not take photos of my stuff before mailing. My partner got my envie but is not posting pics because she cant find her camera cord. If only I had thought to take shots of the stuff before stuffing!  I guess I figured, hey, it's just an envelope but I have learned my lesson.

More great stuff (lovin' all of the inchies)!  And, I do like the monkey die-cut!

And, thanks for the "Honorable Mention" in my feedback, lovesclutter. I got a chuckle out of that... it really should be awarded to my kitchen scale ;)

Yay!  I received my awesome envelope from myklia!!!

A great selection of 'vintage ladies' like I had hoped for.  These are so fun to look at.  Also, see that black glitter?  Those are two pieces of glitter felt!   ;D ;D  I think its funny because I sent her some black glitter paper.

Two of my favorite ladies:

Fun summer paper:

She had decorated the inside of the envelope which I forgot to take a picture of.  Thank You, myklia!  LOVE my envelope.   ;)

So I got my envie out of "mail jail". Here is all the really cool loot I received from Samantha.Arch:

There are a bunch of fall stickers (love the glitter ones), three skeins of embroidery floss, a couple ATCs and ATC blanks, some cool pumpkin cut outs (the white jack-o-lantern is awesome), a bit of printed vellum, a bag with buttons and a whole bunch of jump rings (I needed these!) and last but not least...chocolate!

I think the ACTs need a close up:

Both of these are great...though the crime scene is my absolute favorite. :)

Thank you so much Samantha! I love everything and will put it to good use. I was worth the wait. ;)

I'm really glad you both liked your items! It was really fun to make things for the both of you cause you two seemed a lot alike.  ;D

As I'm typing this my husband and I are trying to figure out the printer. I got batteries for the digital camera but the cord is at my moms. So I plugged the card into the printer and it's telling me that I need to install the software... Which I don't have. lol If I have to I'll bust out the cell phone again and do pictures that way. But there will be pictures TONIGHT!  ;D ;)

I don't know what your technical setup is...but usually you can upload to your photo hosting site right from your memory card. I know that's what I do with photobucket. I put my card in my computer, cancel when it tries to get me to upload to my computer and then just upload from the card in photobucket.

Though cell phone pictures are OK too. :)

I think the reason why it came postage due was everything sort of shifted to the middle and it was too thick. I weighted it on my scale and the weight shouldn't have been an issue.

Glad you got the mail bailed out! What a trip that crime scene ATC is!
I don't think I could I could get away with making or getting something like that around "Grandma"! She'd freak! She'd think I was dangerous!
So, I wonder who'se left to recieve?

Mail jail! Haha that cracks me up!

Here are the pictures of what the amazing Spookygrrrly sent me... Finally!!
And by finally I mean finally I can upload the pictures not that the envelope took forever. lol  ::) Also, no postage needed!
I apologize for the quality of the pictures.  :-\

First is my favorite!! Beautiful floral paper. I can't wait to use this! I have some inchies and atcs in mind right now.  ;D

Next are some cute Halloween stickers and state stamps! I love how the stamps have facts about the state on the back! The state bird, flower, tree, capital, and statehood. How stinkin cute.

And we have some awesome fabric that has skulls and knitting needles. It's folded in this picture btw. She did her stalking and found out I am trying to learn how to knit.  ;D It has a black background with white skulls and pink knitting needles.

And last but not least she sent me some heart confetti and small jewels (perfect for inchies!) Sparkly ribbon and some Japanese (I believe) charms. All of it was packaged in a cute little pouch.

Thank you so very much Spookygrrrly. I love everything that you sent! Another great 1st time swapper right here!! I can't wait to use all of the great things that you both sent me. Thank you again! And thank you organizers. You did an amazing job of keeping such a huge swap moving smoothly!

Oh and I want that puppy!!  ;D

I'm glad you like everything Samantha. I had fun picking stuff out. :)

Oh and the heart confetti are actually stickers. They are the seal kind that you lick and stick. I like using them in small projects because it's just enough tack to hold in place until I seal it later.

Cool! So, I'm guessing that you dismantled 2 regular envelopes, decorated them and then re-glued them. Or, did you dismantle one and use it as a template?

I definitely need to try a little more envelope creativity the next time...

Title: Re: 44 Cent Swap Rd 3 Gallery
Post by: myklia on October 17, 2009 11:08:52 AM
I dismantled two regular envelopes, drew on them on the inside (didn't decorate the outside) and attempted to glue them back together but my glue is loser so I ended up using tape.  I think at a minimum you would need a 8 1/2 by 14 inch paper for a template.  I steamed open 4 of them, not quite as easy as I would have thought, but doable.

Autumn themed paper, rub ons.  (wow, I really sucked at the photo uploading today... this one is sideways.   :-\ )

This was a lot of fun!  I will definitely look for more rounds or a small flat rate box swap.  Thank You to both of my partners that sent me envelopes of amazing stuff.

I think we should wait 10 days from mailing date, even those who were late. Then communicate with your partner and organizer and resend.

I know that each envie is going to be different, but you may get a new idea.

Woo Hoo - got my awesome envelope from prettyinpaisley today.  Here is my loot!

a cute little owl that gives a hoot, and a squirrel, a little envelope with a cool stamp and hearts, 3 cool cards, better pic below, some pirate booty coins with sculls, colorful borders that pull apart, and paper: dinosaurs and happy people dancing.

This AWESOME PIN-UP - i love it! Green paper, a fortune: "I'm going to make someone happy today!" (I hope I did)   A great old photo; some pink and green plastic viewers, i think from 3-D glasses and a cool fill-in page from a monthly planner on one side and a "Day of Wandering" on the back. I had to make it black & white to show the "Day of Wandering"

Thanks so much to both my partners - What a great swap.

Love the green felt.  Think that is going to become a book mark.  And the orange marble paper is gorgeous,  just have no idea to do with it.  A couple of happy face stickers,  bunches of interesting paper.  A picture of a nun.  some black and white ribbons,  a bunch of dmc floss.  Might have to break down and do an atc or 2.

I am getting a little behind with the new job, so I will try each evening to catch up. If you envie came back, go ahead and post a pic. I'm going to reread the rules, but when send out times come and go after so many days, they don't include the time it takes to get there, so if you sent late with communication or have to resend, just let me know, otherwise I will wait to give feedback. I'm 100% positive we have no flakers here. 8)

Here are the goodies I received yesterday from derscroot. She did a great job of matching my style and interests.

First, all the stuff:

My camera doesn't do the best job -- or maybe it's the photographer!

She sent a burgundy fabric swatch that will go on a pillow on my sofa. She crocheted a lovely green vine that I'll use on a project. Also two cute notecards with a duck and tree, and the Japanese symbols for rain and tree. And some origami -- two bookmarks, a crane, and a bird. Even her letter was folded in a cute origami shape. Also -- I love this -- forget-me-not seed paper! Can't wait till planting time to use it.

Here are some scans that show better detail:

The amazing coincidence is, I have a piece of fabric that's the perfect plain coordinate for this! Is that cool or what?

Thank you, derscroot, for all the wonderful things.

For anyone who wants the template I made for audio-astrophysics of the little inchie houses, I've put up PDF versions on my personal website.

The link below is for the inchie house with a half inch high roof:
House with shorter, .5" roof rise (http://too-lazy-to-be-evil.com/projects/HouseShortRoof.pdf)

and this one is for the inchie house with a .75 inch rise roof, a steeper roof.
House with taller, .75" roof rise (http://too-lazy-to-be-evil.com/projects/HouseTallRoof.pdf)

Each PDF has two houses per page.  The top one has more tabs in case you are using it as a base layer or using some fiddly, non-flat type paper or material.  The bottom house on each page has fewer tabs, which is all I seemed to need when using copier weight or scrapbooking paper.  These houses also have bottoms on them which add to the stability, but aren't necessary.  If you don't want them, just snip them right off your template when you cut them out.

ETA: Important: They measure ever so slightly larger than one inch. I did this so that the printed lines can be completely cut off and still leave your paper with an inch shape afterwards.

I also have these each templates crammed onto one page so if you'd like to print a bunch and color them in, or just have a bunch of templates on one sheet, you can.  Let me know if anyone wants that and I'll convert it and upload it.

The post office was evil and delayed my envelope from saxonsweetie but I finally got it and it was so worth the wait!

I got some beautifully ornate stickers, pretty pink paper, antique papers from a German school book (!), an adorable cross stitched crow/raven that I will totally hang in a shrine or itty bitty frame, 2 tiny foreign coins, a key, and some pretty green paper. She totally pegged my style down, I can't wait for free time to craft  ;D

All the loot:

I am so glad you got your envie, Rouge_Raven! I would love to have made you another one, but some of the things in yours are going to be kind of hard to come by again! That pretty green paper, for example, is from a 1971 issue of McCalls Needlework magazine. I only have one! The penny from Sigapore is another. I don't have too many of those floating around.  I am so glad you liked it and can't wait to see what you do with it!

star confetti and heart buttons. I love buttons so that was an especially nice treat

some pretty paper

neat animal thingies. These are my second favorite.

ribbons:

and my absolute favorite: a matchbook notebook made from a paint chip! I didn't take a picture of the inside, but all of the pages have my name printed on them!

Sorry I haven't been on more. Last weekend was full, started work Monday for a 12 hour shift, and 5 minutes after I got home, here comes family and guest unannounced. I was po'd for sure. Now it is 1 pm and they just left, and I don't have but a couple of hours to get to work. If you are waiting on feedback, pm me and also let me know if you got your envies under 44 cents. I hope, hope, hope, tomorrow before work I have some time to catch up and get some of my swap stuff done. Geez.

I feel so bad it took me this long to post these but I had a Halloween party this weekend and was too busy to even get online until today even to check my email (which has NEVER happened to me before).

Here is the amazing envelope I received from spookygrrly last Thursday. It took a ridiculous amount of time to get to me because it arrived 17cents postage due ( I suggested to the mail lady that we call it even for time served in mail jail but she has no sense of humor apparently).

Inside I got a darling ATC, vintage style Halloween stickers, cool stamps awesome skull beads, printed papers ad a great bit of Halloween fabric.

I am torn between the beads and ATC as my favorites but things but think the ATC wins!!! Thank you so much to both my partners and our organizer this was so much fun!

AHHHHRRGGGG! Photobucket is totally down and all the pics are downloaded on to my brothers laptop because I can't get anything to save to this computer (mine is broken and I REALLY miss it). I guess I will cross my fingers that it all comes back before I can commandeer his laptop again this afternoon.

Somebody saw them before they disappeared though, right? I know they were there last night.

I busted rainbowmeow's envie out of mail jail! I would have done it sooner but they didn't clarify at all that they were holding an envelope for me. I even had to insist after handing the postal worker the paper that she should look for an envelope.

Pictured is a mini wallet, the pretty envelope I received everything in, glittery hello kitty stickers, assorted cardstock and paper, and textured paint samples which I love to use in my ATCs.

A photo of my favorites. I love rainbow and of course it's been established that I love bikes and Hello Kitty. The Hello Kitty thing is  gift envelope. How could I ever give this away?! Well, maybe if I find another cycling Hello Kitty enthusiast :)

Thank you rainbowmeow!!!

Aren't these adorable?  Love them!

Those little black and white hearts, what are they, they are so cute. I love the Disney tinkerbell. I am so proud of all these envies. I want to make my own envelopes, so links to tute would be great. I will still do personal 44 centers, but I doubt I will arrange round 4 as I will help thesapphiremoon with the $4.95 swap, so anyone who wants to take a round of 44 cents on, feel free. I'm sure I'll sign up. lovesclutter

The sushi stickers are SOOOOO cute! Love them!

Lovesclutter - The simplest way to make your own envelopes is to carefully unfold an existing envelope to make a template, then trace around it onto the new paper and cut it out. A little gluestick, and you're good to go!

I recently sent out an envelope that I printed off my computer after playing around with photoshop.  I found the template here: http://kearnystreet.wordpress.com/2008/02/15/reduce-re-use-then-recycle/

I used a sheet of letter sized photo paper from the dollar store and rubbed Microglaze over the images just in case.

Ha! Funny that you should mention it-I did notice the glowing stars because I had it on my bedroom dresser and had to get out of bed to figure out what the heck was going on over there. :D

I know what you mean about the G-I-D stuff though, everything can be improved by adding a coat or two of glow paint in my opinion.

Happy Halloween!

Finger puppets of her favorite Harry Potter characters, patterned papers including some I marbleized with colored pencils, stickers of paints and brushes.

I don't know the status of the envelope for one of my partners. I don't normally bother to take pictures of these envelope swaps and I had crafted the item dozens of times. It was a hand bound book that I laid out flat and stuffed into the envelope.

I did however take a pic of my decorated envelopes because I was sort of proud of them. The top one has been posted already. :)

Love them raerae, and you are quite a budding artist. If everyone hits the print at the top, all of the posts will show, and I would like everyone to pm me their favorite decorated envelope. Mine do NOT count. Put envie art in the title and I will announce the winner on the first post. No prize, just validation! <3

Learning something every day! I'd never touched that "print" button before; it's very nice to have.
And, upon seeing all the envies, I really can't pick a favorite! There were 3-4 people who sent very nicely decorated envies, and I wish I had done the same.

Okay... I finally figured out why my camera wasn't talking to my lap top and I present to you the wonderful envelope contents of Sonjaboo and Bminks!

Sonjaboo sent gorgeous inchies, an awesome needle felted fob hello kitty guitar picks and cute stickers there was also a very cool bookmark which didn't make it into the shot because it was holding my place in "Dead to the World" at the time this photo was taken!

I love everything but I extra love the inchies!

BMinks sent inchies, Hello kitty valentines, stickers a temporary tattoo, ribbon, buttons, a tarot card, shrinky dink charms and a cute crochet bookmark!

Here's a close up of the inchies

also probably my most favorite thing she sent was a "TheSexyTurtle" cell phone charm which I have been proudly rocking since I got it.

That has to be like the worst picture ever but it is super cute and I am in love with it.

Great swap guys! sorry it took so long to post these pics and also sorry the pics aren't the greatest... if you have better ones please post them!

Hi all swappers. I will be off tomorrow. Even though still sick I will be updating this swaps feedback and try to get it moved into the completed stage. I will be starting my lists for the $4.95 swap for those of you who have joined in there. I hope to get one swap photoed packed and shipped tomorrow as well. If all goes well, I will have Saturday to craft for TheSexyTurtle. LOL Darn job, getting in the way.

Yes! Please tell us about it.
That stuff is all so adorable. I love the color book. It makes me want to learn my colors all over again!

I made a drawing of a birthday party, called a plant day party since they were celebrating the day of that plants birth! And I wrote the age of the plant on the hat. I posted it over in the altered journal along
