Title: Help with wire wrapped ring...

This is the ring I want to make...or one like it...

This is the only tutorial I can find...is this the right thing???

I really can't find anything else...i searched and searched on craftster and google for a tutorial and can't find anything...please help...

I looked at it before and thought to myself, yup, that looks exactly like the pearl ring on etsy so I never posted....but I guess I should have! I think you're on the right track! I've been wanting to try those rings, too but don't have a mandrel yet. I thought I'd try to form it around a wooden dowel but it turned out horribly!

It looks so easy in the tutorial! :-( I've decided I have to buy the $28 steel mandrel I located at a store downtown. Here's hoping it works for me and I wish you luck, too!

I ordered my mandrel off ebay for a total cost of $4 ... mind you, my mandrel is plastic (and it has the grove up the back for gems), but I don't intend on hammering anything on it so it works just fine.

I think the youtube is very close to the ring shown, if not exactly.  I don't have a ring mandrel, but to make a ring I went around the house with one of my rings and slipped it on small round objects till I found something the right size.  This worked for a couple of rings, but if I was making several and different sizes I would want the mandrel.
