I am so glad that you liked the stuff. I always worry. I always like to see what people like the most because it is always different than what I liked making the most. For example, by the end of making that sandworm, I was so over it. It took me days to weave in the ends because I was so tired of looking at it. I didn't even take a picture of it before I sent it. But, I am glad you liked it, it makes it worth it in the end.

I recieved my package from Joesuplicki today! And it is awesome! :)

First- the whole deal:

Please don't mind the rolled up paper bags... my kitchen table is a mess from all the other stuff I've been working on and I can never seem to keep it clean >_< I don't remember the last time we actually ate at the table, lol!

Now on to the details!

I recieved a couple of awesome figurines to place on my computer stand so I can stare at them! I got a lil' Ewok and a custom created (of Joe's design) Cheshire cat! I love his BIG smile! :D

Next are these absolutely wonderfully made Faun horns from Pan's Labyrinth. There's so much detail placed in these and the moss really accents them beautifully!

And this... this is something my husband wanted- a working lightsaber! He says that he wants to use it at work (he's required to carry a tiny flashlight on him at work). The inset in the bottom right is to show that the medalion has two sides (for light and dark) and Joesuplicki also drilled a hole through it in case we want to turn it into a necklace! How cool is that?

However, this was my favorite piece- a leather mask based on the Neil Gaiman movie, Mirrormask. It has two sides to the face (as can be seen in the picture above) and have beautiful designs etched and painted on them! <3

Thank you so much, Joesuplicki! ^_^

Hello everybody! I got home from my first day of classes to find my package awaiting me. Here is everything.
First a crochet belt that I love. I am posting more pictures than what is probably necessary, lol.

And a close up

A blank card with a white oleander

Three different yarn each representing a different character from the movie Star(pink) Ingrid(cream) and Astrid(black and white)

I saved my most favorite item for last, its a white flower crochet bracelet with a toggle clasp

and me wearing it

THANK YOU BROOKLYNNE!!!

How pretty is that belt and bracelet! I really admire Brooklynne's ability to crochet :) And the colors are fantastic! What movie are all these based off of, LittleJoi?

I cannot believe how fast that package sent! And more importantly I'm so relieved you like it!!

Get ready for this awesome package from Alexandra-the-Great. We shared a lot of the same movies. We both love Harry Potter, for one:
\
It's a crocheted golden snitch! Ya know, it's part of the game of Quiddich they play.

Also, some golden snitch earrings in Gryffindor House colors. (My favorite house)

and last but not least in the Harry Potter set...

A sweet wand!! It's so awesome. I am going to use it in my classroom (I'm an English teacher) as a pointer! NOTE: My husband is wearing a SNUGGIE! (We joke that it looks like a wizard robe)

Now on to another of my favorite movies..Sweeney Todd!!

It's some razor blade earrings with blood droplet beads! How creative!

AHHHHHH!!! Sweeney Todd sliced my neck!! (Not, really. It's a crocheted choker that looks a helluva lot like blood from far away!! Hello Halloween costume!)

And last but not least...

My Sweeney Todd doll! I LOVE LOVE LOVE him!

another closer shot:

As you can see, my husband and I had a great time posing with our new stuff! Thanks Alexandra-the-Great! You ROCK!

Title: Re: Favorite Movie-In-A-Box Swap
Post by: AlexPrime on August 17, 2009 06:51:49 PM
Hahaha! I'm so glad you like everything. I had a blast making them! My dog destroyed my first Sweeney Todd doll, whose head I eventually found outside.  :o But the next one I made turned out loads better. Happy accident, I guess. The wand was likely the hardest part. The first wand I have ever made, but I has so much fun doing it! I am going to make, like, fifty!  :D I love the fact that you'll use it as a pointer! I love when things have a fun and also practical use.  ;D

And I love the action shot of your husband! Looks like he is about to go curse some Dark Lord ass!  ;)

I need to take an up-close version of the wand to show off your hard work. I promise I'll do that soon.

So I got this friggen awesome package today and I will try to do it justice through pictures. I was floored by the complete awesomeness and Quality of the work and the usefulness of the items, I loved every single part of this package and I'm sorry everyone else but I definitely got the best partner in this swap  ;) So without further adieu you will now be assaulted with a ton of pictures
My Box-O-Awesomeness Arrived

Boxes Within A Box

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch So I might Blow mine enemies to smithereens

The Full Effect. The verses from the book of armaments is written inside two deck cases painted to look like books. This whole thing is made to carry my magic the gathering cards, I can't wait till Friday to show it off at our game night. There are also mini hand grenades to be used as counters and a dice bag with the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog on it. Frigging Awesome!!!

Inside of the deck cases were these boxes

and inside two necklaces one from Serenity and one from Pans Labyrinth (Which my wife has claimed)

The Next this was complete awesomeness first of all this is part of my collection in my office

I love ewoks. Especially Wicket W. Warrick in this photo you can see I have one still in the original package, one original open, one of the re-released one and one bobble head... So this Key chain was Excellent!!! And I don't think my partner knew I was ewok obsessed.

Now Last Was these two awesome glasses etched with Characters from one of my favorite movies Forbidden Planet. Now these were a little hard to photograph so these picture do not do them justice but they are awesome. And I used them tonight with dinner.

For my first swap package this was probably the bst one I will ever receive, I should probably quite while I'm ahead  ;D I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did, and again I cannot say how much I loved everything in this package. Thank you tcmatteson!!!!!!!

This is the mat that I did not find, I finally got a moment to add it. It also is awesome.

trampycouture -- that picture of your husband in the snuggie is hilarious and it does look like a wizard's robe.

Title: Re: Favorite Movie-In-A-Box Swap
Post by: tcmatteson on August 17, 2009 08:16:59 PM
Aww... thanks :) Oh- and I think I forgot to tell Joe that the top part of the box has velcros to it and there's a gaming mat that lives up there... maybe he'll post a picture of it later when he finds it. Unfortunately my camera died before I could take pictures of it, so I can't show it off myself :(

I had so much fun working on that set. I don't play Magic, but it was fun researching all the supplies that go with the system, and I learned a lot! Plus, I got to watch the "killer rabbit" part of MP's Holy Grail A LOT, it just got funnier with each viewing.

butterflyangel has had her package since Monday and left for vacation today I think. I think she said he couldn't find her camera or something of the sorts. She asked me to post pictures but the only ones I have are on my phone. I guess I will have to anxiously await comments on it until she gets back. I hope I get my package today too. She sent Monday I believe but she never sent me a DC number.

So i sent today.  I almost had a heart attack at the shipping place when the lady said that my oversized package would cost 40 dollars to ship.  She was kind enough to help me cut the box down and saved me 20 bucks in the process

You know.  I prob tipped that lady off at the shipping place to my distress from all the curse words comming from my mouth.  They had a sign at the shop that said ship happens. It sure did to the tune of 29.44 total. OMG.  I hope and pray that machaine and her boyfriend love the stuff i made.

I don't think we need to do that just yet :( Last we heard, she was having a hard time getting to the post office... plus, her college may have started recently, which can also be a difficult transition period. Maybe she shipped and just couldn't get on her comp recently to let you know... (you know how finicky these new fangled electronics can be ;) )

My partner received on the 18th I believe. I wish I didn't forget to take pictures of the stuff. ):

Mine received the 17th and I don't have any good pictures of my stuff and they are on my phone. =(

Still haven't received. =( She said she sent the 17th and I guess didn't get a DC number so I am hoping it isn't lost! =(

Thanks for the compliments, guys!  It's been a little nuts at my house since I got home from vacation, but I'll post photos tomorrow of the great package I got.  CrazyRed gave me a movie night (and more) box: matching grail cups from Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade, a precious tray with cute pictures from Monsters Inc., a polka-dotted popcorn bowl from Elf, 2 magnets and a necklace from Star Wars, and massage oil from Rocky, plus two cute little toys...and an amazing set of Star Wars Pez dispensers!  It's an amazing swap package and I'm sooo spoiled.  I'll show photos soon.  Thanks, CrazyRed!!

Hello everyone, I know my partner received and I asked her if she could post pictures but I haven't heard anything back from her so I'm going to post pictures of all but one of the items because I forgot to take pictures of it. All the items are based off of the movie Amelie.

what a great package! My fav is the little doll, especially her clothing-it`s so beautiful :)
nicely done! :)

... and it sucks, if your partner doesn`t even care to take pics (ok, maybe, she had an excuse, so sorry then ;) - but i`m kind of bitter from my own VARY FIRST swap experience- i put in tons of hours and tried extra hard and it was the 1st time ever... and she never posted :( - i didn`t take pictures and the world never knew :D. but i was sad and less motivated to continue with swaps. yep, scarred for life :D:D:D)

Hooray for the barrage of pictures! Every package looked so great! Here are some of my favorites:

From ButterflyAngel -> MsJamieLeigh: I loved those flower earrings and I thought that puzzle was a great idea! You used a very cute picture for that :)

From MsJamieLeigh -> ButterflyAngel: I absolutely adore the Dirty Dancing shirt and the Juno doll (all prego and whatnot). And the headbands were very well made!

From LittleJoi -> Brookelynne: I really like your little dollies - especially the cute fish! I want one now!

From CrazyRed -> Nikimac: Those are some awesome grail cups (what did you use to paint them on the glass?), and that Monster's Inc. tray is too cute!

Thanks for the compliments  ;D I knit the fish and I crocheted the cup and I felted them both. I had to wash and dry them several times to make them super felted and the "hat" is supposed to be coffee because Amelie works at a cafe.

There is some great work out there,

LittleJoi, I love the little man with a big beard, and that fish is great.

crazyred, the Monsters Inc serving tray was awesome (as well those Star wars Pez dispensers), Nikimac it looked like there were some necklaces in the picture of everything but I couldn't make out what they were, am I wrong?

MsJamieLeigh, Hey although a little fuzzy in the picture that plane looks awesome I hope to see some better pictures of it.

NikiMac, I love the shirt and the dapper Dan tin, they look great.

again sorry for not commenting earlier,

Ok. I  juuuust now got to a computer to post the pictures from my AMAZING swap package, but I've been beat to it.
I'm so very 100fold sorry I didn't post earlier, but my home computer doesn't have internet access suddenly D:
I really love my package, everything is so amazing and I almost had to beat my family off with a stick to keep them from stealing every single thing!  I've worn the hat almost every day since I've recieved it, and the Gnome has had his picture taken beside several Cleburne monuments.
Thank you so much Amanda, you are an amazing and talented knitter and felter, book binder and dollcrafter.
((hugs))

OMG!! :o  That fish is amazing!!  So adorable!

The Dirty Dancing shirt brings back sooo many memories....(ahh those were the days :D)....fabulous job!!

From CrazyRed -> Nikimac: Those are some awesome grail cups (what did you use to paint them on the glass?), and that Monster's Inc. tray is too cute!

Thank you!  Actually the glasses are not glass at all, they are some unbreakable plastic blend that I can't spell or pronounce, and I used acrylic paint and clear varnish to seal.  The bowl was glass and using the same process, it turned out....not so well :-\.  The paint definately liked the plastic better :D

crazyred, the Monsters Inc serving tray was awesome (as well those Star wars Pez dispensers), Nikimac it looked like there were some necklaces in the picture of everything but I couldn't make out what they were, am I wrong?

Thanks!!  The Pez were something the universe just decided that Nikimac should have ;D - you know, one of those things that just kinda "fell out of the sky" once partners were assigned.... ;)

I hope that Nikimac doesn't mind, but here's a photo that I took of the Star Wars stuffs....

Star Wars movie poster/domino magnet
Vader was Framed/ceramic tile magnet
TIE fighter/Storm Troopers pendant

Awh. I'm sorry. We should tar and feather flakers!

Sorry it took me so long to upload the pictures! It's been a hectic week!

Anyways, this is the package that trampycouture sent me! She crafted from the Harry Potter films!

This FANTASTIC Ravenclaw tote bag! I am in awe of it!  :o

This awesome Cross Stitch, to help me remember how to open the Mauraders Map! It says: 'I Solemnly Swear I am up to No Good'.

An adorable and highly accurate 'I<3Snape' Keychain, which is now proudly hanging from my keyring!

Extendable Ears, right straight from Fred and George's WWW shop!

Thanks for the fantastic package, TC! I loved it and I have already started using the tote bag! I've gotten some compliments on it too!

Yeah, the Star Wars pendant and magnets are great!  (Thanks for the clearer photo, CrazyRed.)  I was especially happy about the Star Wars stuff because I was just in a Star Wars swap and I didn't quite get as much Star Warsy stuff as I'd expected.  Those extendable ears are really funny!

I got the most awesome package today from taranehsbazaar! Feast your eyes on this (oh, there were Skittles too, that didn't make it in the picture, but I am tasting the rainbow right now).

So, my movies were: Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Science of Sleep, Shaun of the Dead, and Twilight. My partner and I decided to do crafts from all of our movies, instead of just one.

Amelie: this awesome crocheted gnome (I collect gnomes so this is perfect). I want to take him to work with me, but I work at a school, so I have to make sure the kids don't mess him up.

Eternal Sunshine: a Clementine hat with a color to represent every color of hair she had in the movie. It fits perfectly!

The Science of Sleep: an awesome typewriter pin cushion inspired by a crazy typewriter that was in Stephan's dream

Shaun of the Dead: check this awesome pouch. I love the fabric it is made of. My camera is out of focus, but even Shaun's work shirt  has his name on it.

Twilight: Bella's mittens and crocheted apple. I can't tell you how beautiful these mittens are. I don't think you could buy mittens this nice. Here's a pictuer of me doing my best Twilight pose.

Thanks to my amazing swap partner!!!!!!

The package (and an envelope of fun trivia and song lyrics)

A fun wall hanging (modeled by my oh so thrilled boyfriend):

But it's okay, he got something too! Batman! A box with Robin on it and a Joker key chain:

Some jewelry, bracelets and necklace, looks like something Sarah would wear to dress up.

A very pretty bound memory book, almost like a journal.

And a Goblin mask like Jareth wears during that masque ball scene in the movie.  This is papier mache I believe?  And it's painted and feathers and soooo cool.  It's hanging on my wall!

So, I recieved from my awesome partner Leashhh a while ago and up until 4 days ago I hadn't posted out of laziness, for that I'm truely sorry.

but the past few days i've either gotten an error message everytime I try to get to the site or I get to the site and it only loads the homepage and none of the other pages...

ANYWAYS...
Here is what I got!!!

My movie was Nightmare Before Christmas!!!

A super cute shirt:

(the action I took originally vanished off my memory card so I had to take a new one really quick and i didn't want to change lol)

Address Labels:

A craft apron:

A sally pencil case:

A Rubber Stamp, keychain, and bracelet:

and, my favorite
Really cute button earrings

Leashhh also sent a Jack Skellington face that was filled with smelly stuff... BUT shortly after I opened the package, my neice stole it and I haven't got the slightest clue where she hid it...

Thanks for everything Leashhh and thanks to everyone for a fun swap. I like everything thats been shown so far!!!

Here's my package to craftyhippie. One of her movies was The Wizard of Oz, so I sent her tons of Oz inspired goodies.

Among them were a few things I forgot to take pictures of, including two beaded book thongs, a t-shirt with a quote by the Wizard himself, a ruby-red glitter "S" (her first initial), a few random little goodies, and -my favorite- a box I painted (to look like a stage with mini movie posters of her favorite movies) to send everything in.

~*~CRAFTYHIPPIE please post pictures if you can!!~*~

I also sent...

A Rainbow of Wine Glass Markers (sorry for the horrible lighting!)

A Good Witch/Bad Witch inspired necklace

A painted plate (this is actually not the one I sent her, I made a second one that was a bit neater)

A light switch cover painted with a view of Oz

And a bluebird necklace

Oh! And also a Good Witch/Bad Witch bag! (bad pictures :( )
