i LOOOOOOOVE all my stuff!! i had so much fun going through it all.
even my boyfriend oohed and ahhed with amazement!!
thank you so much!!! this is the raddest swap!!

wow!!! i can't believe how much STUFF crafty gurrl made for me!!!

1)
this AMAZING mirror has bottle caps with images of saints all over the front! it's definitely
one of my very favorite swap items ever! thank you so much!!

i actually had to wrestle these away from my boyfriend. they are two white stoneware skulls, curved to use as bowls or spoon rests, catchalls, etc. again, one of my all-time favorite swap items! wow!!!

3)
i apologize for the fuzzy pictures. my camera doesn't like to focus on small things, and i tried to get as close as i could for detail, without getting too fuzzy. anyway, this is a small box with a gold cross inside the lid! inside the box were these:

ugh! again, i'm so sorry about the crappy pics. i took about a hundred and this was the best.
these are tiny clothes pin magnets with shrinky-dink sugar skulls on them!!! awesome!!

4)
i've already filled this picture frame! it's perfect!!! she even MADE the sugar skulls!!!

5)
this is so cute and hilarious! i wish the picture was better... it's an origami nun!!!

6)
banana and hazelnut scented soap!!! it all smells SO GOOD!!!
i have hidden it from my boyfriend! it's MINE!!!

I could lie and say I did handpaint them, but they are just copies of the internet. ;)

I'm so glad you liked it all!  And that it all was received in one piece.  Every item had a high breakable or smooshable factor! :D

I received today from nataluna! My postman was nice enough to bring it right to my apartment door instead of leaving it on the stoop, too!

I got totally spoiled (Ay! And I'm sending late! GUILT!) so set wists to stun. I asked for mostly kitchen stuff, and nataluna totally delivered.

First I pulled out these fabulous kitchen towels! They're my favorite kind, too, the plain cotton kind. They match the walls in my kitchen! There's also a bright and cheery plastic bag holder, something we desperately needed.

Now, she claims she's a beginner at sewing... but check out the applique. It's really great! (And the adorable lizard faces.)

Next I pulled out this sweet chili pepper canister, little metal parrot canister, and cute little terra cotta bird. I can't wait for my partner to see the big pepper canister, he's a lover of all thing spicy. I think I'm going to use it to keep all our big utensils in.

Next out were these container magnets. I had to turn to google to translate them, and I totally love this phrase, especially because several hits implied that it invokes the 5-second rule, which is possibly my partner's FAVORITE rule. I cannot stop him from eating things that fall on the floor. It's revolting. But now he'll totally have a phrase in his defense on the fridge. AWESOME. It's sort of loosely translated as "What doesn't kill you makes you fatter."

And then my very own raven shrine! Colorful, glittery, kitschy... it's got everything and a little bit more. I think this bad boy is going in the entryway where all our visitors can see it right off.

And a mirror! I've got the perfect spot on the wall for it, and it's covered in milagros!
It's a beautiful red color which my camera just couldn't capture:

Plus a slew of little extra bits! More milagros, a Virgin of Guadalupe rosary necklace, and a wee ceramic cross in the talavera style:

Everything together:

I really got spoiled. Thank you so much, nataluna! You've pretty much single handedly redecorated my kitchen. I'm going to head in there now and set everything up before the SO gets home... we'll see how long it takes him to notice. ;)

Title: Re: Viva Mexico!!! aka the Mexican kitsch swap gallery!
Post by: nataluna on June 26, 2009 02:18:08 PM
whew, i am so glad it all made it ok (^_^)
i was sure that chiles jar and hanging bird (stashbusting extras, not made by me or anything) was going to end up as mosaic fodder.  oh, i think if you hang a glass bead inside the bird, he can maybe be a bell.  i might be wrong, though.
speaking of not made by me, the metal parrot jar was made by hand by someone clever ... somewhere tropical ... at an unknown time in the past.  ie a happy yardsale find, iirc.
also the talavera cross is supposedly real talavera.  that and the virgen necklace came from the mexican folklore store in the latin mall that i showed you guys.

the spare milagros were in case i didn't fill the mirror well enough.  i should have thought to include some tiny nails but i was a little spaced out that day.   ::) to be honest, ... every day, lately.

the lizards were upcycled off of a touristic t-shirt of Arizona.  they will be so much happier on your towels because they didn't show up all that well on the busy background of the t-shirt.
comic trivia:  i got all creeped out when i had to sew near their eyes.
and, man, if i never have to sew another lizard toe again, i will be happy.
that is my contribution to the odd random phrases collection of this swap.  :D

you did a good translation of the magnetic containers.  i wonder if it's a parody of the Nietzsche expression, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"...
and it means, as you understood, that if the food is not bad enough to kill you, it's good enough to nourish you.
now, we really need something like that in our kitchen, too  ;D
oh yeah and about the 5-second rule, the colombian version says "mugre que no mata, engorda" ... mugre being dirt.  but this was mexican so i had to use it the way they say it there, being a language nerd and stuff...  :D  plus then it covers bad cooking, too... just in case that ever happens in your house.

the Raven shrine has a secret:  the chiles and beans and bayleaves(?) of the paper triangles are recycled from the paper circles that were inside the magnetic containers to show what they could hold on your fridge.  i thought it was a good irony.  and now you see where all the glitter glue went.  i seriously used up like half of the very generous assortment of glitter glues that our swap member in VT supply-swapped me!
i had SO MUCH FUN making that, next i want to make a cat one for our house.

sorry for chattering on....  it's just that Aeon's likes gave me such a lot of ideas, and i had such a lot of fun making these things!!

ETA: please Aeon don't have any guilt.  because (A) like i said this is only the 2nd swap i ever mailed on time.  and (B) being on latin time is totally mexican kitsch.  and (C) life happens and (D) i bet you are making something really cool, cos you said you had to go to the museum about it.  can you tell i am curiousing my brains out?!?!?! but it's more fun that way.

Title: Re: Viva Mexico!!! aka the Mexican kitsch swap gallery!
Post by: AeonGoddess on June 26, 2009 03:04:07 PM
And I have to add:

(Ignore the fact that our kitchen is kind of a mess.)
Look how well that new towel matches! And that mirror color looks so good on the wall.
And I had to laugh, because I put those magnet canisters on the fridge and realized that everything on our fridge is already those colors. :) Couldn't have planned it better.

that is a great package! i really like the mirror! your kitchen is so cute!

Post by: nataluna on June 26, 2009 05:31:06 PM
thank you guys for the nice comments, and Aeon i am so happy to see the "action shot".  also your kitchen is a really nice color of green!

morglanc, the thing is i haven't learned to consistently sew either straight lines or curves (she probably ought to have showed a worse bit of lizard).  and i wish the machine had an ultra-slow speed to where it didn't go faster than my brain... but it's electric, so it doesn't.

next i am going to make a purse as a left-over bit of another swap, and then i am going to turn 2 pillowcases and a t-shirt into a dress for me...  for both of which i need to master the whole straight line thing... eeeek.

It hasn't been the best week of my life, but nothing helps fix things like a package in the mail. And one that comes from Ireland is extra cool. I think I'm going to keep the stamps because they are the closest things to stamps in my passport that I'm going to be getting for a while. Anyway, you're not here to read my ramblings, on to the pics, of which there are many.

Here's everything. It's is quite a nice haul, and now I feel like I should have done more. I always feel like that though.

This is a fantastic t-shirt. I love the applique, it's not something I've dared to try yet, but look at how cute they are!

Next we have four outstanding Luchador masks. The have found a place on resting on top of my cork board.

My mom loved this bag and she thought I had bought it. I love the bag too:) I can't wait to take it out and show it off.

The lining is also very fitting. I love the rooster. I think it's my favorite part of the bag.

This is the altered book that Edel made for me. I kind of asked for it, and I'm glad I did. It's so awesome, and so much work went into this that I took pictures of every page. It needs to be shown off. The cover was pictured above so in we go. I used my rhinestone encrusted dagger to hold the book open because I thought my fingers looked funny in the shot, and the dagger felt like it matched.

Muchos Gracias!

Well I did receive but for some reason all my pics came out blurry and strange looking LOL.  So I am gonna retake them in daylight tomorrow so you can see all the crafty goodness from Morganlanc!

Morgan, I loved it all, sorry I haven't had a chance to gush a bit more to you, yesterdays post I did through the PS3 and it was hard to "type" out using a controller, so I kept it brief.  And now its late again and I gotta finish my homework and head to bed.  I will send you a proper thanks tomorrow!  :-[

All fantastic stuff!  That book is amazing, what a special gift.  And going back to the plastic bag holder, magnets, and crow/raven shrine: want, want, and want.  Due to all this amazing stuff in the gallery, I too am having anxiety now, hoping that when my sparkle-loving partner receives she will like what I made for her.

A lot of work went into that book, and I shouldn't be the only one that knows it.

I haven't said this yet, but the plastic bag holder is so awesome. The fabric is perfect and the idea of a plastic bag holder is kitchy to me.

about the plastic bag holder, i saw several tutes for making one.  but i forgot how they said to do it, and did it my own way (that's why the place where the strings come out is funny, because i used the hem of the towel for the place where the string goes, and it's not really right.)
i did mine just the same, though, and it works fine...   :-[

Okay prepare for Mexican awesome-ness!  I received from Morgan on Saturday but have been super busy and haven't posted pics until now so a big "I'm sorry" goes out to her!  Anyway check out all the fun!!

Here is a group shot:

She sent me this awesome vinyl pouch that looks like a bandana and it had all kind of goodies inside!  And the skeleton man is one of those wood puzzles where you punch out the pieced and put it together to get this 3D looking result!  I opened the package right away and figured I would put it together that day, but then it looks complex.  LOL.  So I decided to wait.  I think I am going to paint all the pieces first and then glue them as I go.  I want it to be permanent!!

She sent me some candy.  All made in Mexico.  Let me tell ya....they sure like Chile powder in Mexico!  It was one of the top 5 ingredients of all the candy except one!  I tried them all.  Some were edible and others not so much but the fun was definitely in trying them!  Also the cross is one of my FAVORITES of this package.  Morgan doesn't know it but I am trying to start collecting beautiful crosses.  This will be only my second one but you have to start somewhere right!?!?  :P  Oh and the paper stars have seeds infused in them and you plant them and something grows.  I forgot what that something was tho.  Morgan wrote it down in the note she gave me and I lost it.  I think it is peppers?  Well I will just have to find out when I plant them!  Hopefully I won't kill whatever it is.  I do NOT have a green thumb AT ALL.  I kill everything that I come in contact with when it comes to plants.

Here are some cool skulls on a string.  She decorated all of them "Day of the Dead" style!  She did a beautiful job!

These tiny goodies rock too.  I especially love the glass skull beads!

And last but not least an altered book/journal that Morgan did an awesome job on.  She painted all of it!

Thanks again Morgan! Sorry I took so long to post pics!  This was such a fun swap that I am ready fro round 2!!  Oh and I can't wait for you (Morgan) to get your package!  Should be today!!

Helen, that embroidery is amazing!

ETA:  oh yeah, did you make that turista, or is he bought?  anyway, great choice!
i wanted to make an esqueleto woman seamstress for Aeon, but i chickened out (afraid to mess it up).

and how clever, Morgan, to paint a halloween decoration for DotD.  i need to do something like that for my classes around oct/nov.  i have some skeletons... maybe i can dress them, too?!

Here is my sweet package from doyouloveanapple  :) :

Group shot: little metal box with knitting skeleton lady inside, metal cross, skully magnet, and felted virgin ornament.

Here you can see the decoration on the cross better.

On this one I am attempting to get a good shot of the entire glitter-filled interior walls. :)  Super duper shiny!

Thank you so much, partner, I really love it all!  :)

The "punched tin" is actually just a rinsed out soda can cut with regular scissors (not ones for fabric!). Then I used a pen on a magazine for the indentations, a pushpin for the holes and nail polish for the colour.

alrighty, so here are the goodies i got from snazzlecraft! i have to say first though, that my pictures just dont do them justice.
she sent me a shrine, with a removable doll that she made from scratch. 4 frida magnets, and a rose pattern backdrop for them that is also magnetic. a protection wallet that is ridiculously authentic, a candle, a bracelet, a candle holder, and some religios trinkets. i love it all! thank you again snazzlecraft!

oh wow

is that frida in the shrine?  it is her blue for the background, and the hair thing and embroidered apron look like things she would have used.

i like the frames around the other frida portraits, too.
are they made from tin cans as well?

The frida magnets are made from these plastic stickers from The Dollar Store.  They were pretty chintsy since I was able to completely pull the sticking backing off and it left not a drop of icky residue.  I cut the stickers into the shapes that you see there.  Then I printed Frida pics of the 'net, "laminated" them with packing tape (a key step since I ruined the first set by skipping that step!  Then I glued with good 'ol E6000 the Fridas into the resevoir of the stickers and covered them with this stuff called "Glossy Accents":  Its like a cross between puffy paint and resin.  It gives a raised, resin-like appearance and dries perfectly clear!  Then sticky backed magnet and <bam!> your done!

is that frida in the shrine?  it is her blue for the background, and the hair thing and embroidered apron look like things she would have used.

No not Frida in the shrine but I suppose it does sortof look like her!  All we need to do is draw a uni-brow on her and she will be Frida!!

snazzlecraft, that's very clever!  i bought some of those dollar tree frame stickers, i think... now what did i do with them?!
(yours look better; hmmm, it must be because of adding the pictures... i mean, a frame kind of needs a picture!)

sorry for mistaking the doll, but anyway she's great.

PS: Aeon and the USPS said that my package is on its way... i am excited to receive!!

I received an amazing package today from Anya Kase! Be prepared for lots of pics and to Wist like crazy!

First, when I open the box I saw tons of very pretty and colorful crepe paper flowers.

The first thing I opened was this sweet little matchbox with two worry dolls tucked inside.

[img width=500
Next was this beautiful necklace.

Action shot, keep in mind I am in my PJs so hair is not done and no make-up. Plus it is very hard to take pics of yourself.  :D

Then there is the coolest towel ever! I love embroidery and hope to learn soon. When my boyfriend and I get a place I want to try to talk him into a kitschy kitchen.

This skull is so cool and sparkly, as soon as I'm done posting I'm hanging him in my room.

The last item is definitely my favorite, I had one of Anya Kase's dolls on my Wist and so she made one for me!! She is the sweetest thing ever!

Close up of her face. I want to call her Shelly for some reason, prolly too much SpongeBob lately!  :D

Sorry the pic quality is not great, the lighting in my room is bad and my camera is worse.

Thank you so much for everything, I absolutely love it all!!!!!  ( Though now anxiety is setting in about the package I sent)

wow that little happy muerta girl doll reminds me of la chilindrina (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_chilindrina)!  and the fabric used for her dress is so fun!!

i also like the mustaches on the sugar skull.  it gives it something extra.

that necklace is a great idea for a way to use some old jewellery findings i have turned up while cleaning.

What fun stuff!  That doll is in my favorites!  (or another one just like it I mean) :D

Love love love the matchbox and the skull face in the frame.

I don't know the real names of things in the language of Mexican Kitsch, but there is one word I do know that sums up everything in this gallery: Terrific! :D

I'm so glad you liked everything!  I was afraid that the skull wouldn't make it in one piece.  My husband painted it, I just mounted and glittered it up. ;D

I think my favorite thing was the little match box. I'd never done one before but I will totally do one again. ;D  This was a great swap and I had a great partner!

This is such a good gallery! That shrine is amazing- great skills.

PaleAngelLex felting isn't that hard. That piece is needle felted and it's not hard, just takes a long time. You just have to poke wool over and over with a special barbed needle.

WOW so i received today from AeonGoddess, and i donno how she was worried about her package.

i mean just look at the wonderful things i got:

we found out we both love lizards, and i also really like pictures made with dots.  it reminds me of the oajaca wooden items as well as the australian aboriginal art... 2 folkloric styles i really admire.

this is already sitting on a table in the living room.  it just needs a picture in it!
i photographed it over the loteria cards so you could see what it would look like with a picture in it... but the loteria paper really had an explanation note on the back of it.  great use, btw!

here is a sugar skull keychain (what nice embroidery!!)

but it's way too pretty to use as a keychain, so she is now guarding my computer.
and a sombrero pincushion, wow!  extremely kitsch and extremely useful all at once!  i think she was on the same wavelength as me when i was making those bag-bags: it's like something somebody's abuelita might have.

but WOW... i was only just this week thinking "i wonder how long i have to be sewing before i could manage to make one of those cool wallets???"  cos i was envying the sewn wallets around here.  and guess what?!  of course Aeon is a real seamstress, so...

the fabrics are perfect, well, the one is painted by her after that research trip to the museum (and it's a beautiful indigenous design of a bird) and the other looks kinda japanese, which is a very favorite look in fabrics, for me.  also, dark colors:  makes a perfect wallet that can stand to actually get used!!

and of course, purple, lots of purple.  (^_^)  i love purple.

speaking of which:

this totally wild shirt (did you design the stencils yourself, Aeon, or can these be bought?!  and where?!)
it's so cool... it's like a Dia de los Muertos Hoedown.  amazing!!  i actually like some country music from both sides of the border, too.
and you needn't have worried about the way some colors of the paint turned out to be transparent... i actually think it looks on purpose even though it wasn't.

oh and somewhere in that first pic, you can see some of my favorite mexican cookies!!
which is cool cos dh always drags me away prudently from that area of the supermarket  ;)

can you imagine that there is even one more item coming?!  i can't, but she says there is.
GRACIAS MIL!!!

Metal ornaments:

A sparkly 3D photo of the virgin:

And last but very not least, this lovely shrine for my dead homies.  It's my favorite. I love it!

WOW so i received today from AeonGoddess, and i donno how she was worried about her package.

Aw, I had kitsch inadequacy fear! Everything in this gallery has been so glitzy-kitschy-awesome, and I definitely went the more folky route. So I'm really relieved you like it.

That wallet was pretty hard to part with. It was my first go at that pattern, and now I have to make myself one. :)

Quote from: nataluna
this totally wild shirt (did you design the stencils yourself, Aeon, or can these be bought?!  and where?!)

I looked at some of the Dia de los Muertos fabric in our wists, and kind of based the skeletons on those designs. But blown up and simplified a lot. Then I got to experiment with freezer paper and an x-acto 'til they looked right. It was the first time in years that I've whipped out the silkscreen... my partner had to run interference with the cats while the shirt was drying on the table.

So, I'm so glad you like! It was awesome swapping with you!

Title: Re: Viva Mexico!!! aka the Mexican kitsch swap gallery!
Post by: nataluna on July 03, 2009 04:42:46 AM
wow you DID make the stencils yourself.  WOW.  your drawing skills are amazing.  i could never draw a skeleton and make it look convincing.  let alone dos.

PS:  i can't believe that was a first try at that kind of wallet?!  it looks like you've been making them forever.

PS2: wait, you used silkscreen AND freezer paper?  how does that work?  i am curious about that.  or was it silkscreening ink?  i haven't stenciled anything since college (officially 15 yrs ago, eeks) and a bit afraid to try, really.

PS3: we talked about being raised by hippies... jaja ... well, i grew up with my parents learning by copying all kinds of folk-art from like everywhere.  so it's kind of in my blood or something.  the kitsch stuff, i learned to love on my own later (^_^) so todo vale or, "it's all good".

Wow, I agree that the "hoedown" shirt is amazing.  That's a special talent ya got there, Aeongoddess!

Full disclosure:  The kitty shrine I made for doyouloveanapple: I totally ripped off a couple of things that were on her wists, I claim no credit for the design - I don't normally do this but I basically just looked at two different things and did my best to copy them.  I guess I was reasonably succesful.  :)

Also the virgin cards and photo were made from photos I took of paintings that I made a while ago, with an arch motif and people have been telling me that the arch shape was the perfect place for her. :)

This has been a really fun swap. :)

I got my super rad package from KittyKill on Friday & am just having a chance to post pics.

First up a really awesome embroidered pillow with Guadalupe surrounded by sugar skulls, I love it, I never do embroidery for myself let alone a jumbo tinted pillow! I don't know if i will keep it in my office or put it out in the living room.

Then she made me a shrine complete with milagros, loteria cards & a glowing Mary. In the pic her eyes are glowing which is kinda rad! Also there is a sculpted skeleton kitty with yarn that is really neat and a tiki-ish skull candle holder that will be used as we eat in the backyard this summer.

Thank you so much kittykill. You are awesome!

First, a tribute to my Kato. He recently passed away. This brought happy tears to our house.

Today is the anniversary of Frida's bday!

As far as trying to form skulls with fimo, it is kinda hard. It took me at least a hour to do the one on the box, I just suck at kneading clay!

So here is my package from QueenNinjaMonkey.  Let me just say that pictures do not do it justice and if you have better pictures please post them cause this package was awesome!

First all the little things:

Everything you see here was in this little makeup bag.  Which had a felt sugar skull appliqued on to the side.  there were little butterfly appliques that my daughter wants to steal, a locket , a ring, a pair of AWESOME devil earrings, little skeleton beads, and stickers.

These were on the top of the package, Very cool post cards that I will have to frame cause I'm not giving them to anyone. ;)

A little glitter Skull with a note that said " I didn't make this but I thought it looked cool."  It is very cool.

This was the medium project (I think)  But I squealed when I saw it, it's just so fantastic!  Its a Needlepunched sugar skull in a lottery frame and I just love it!  There was a note saying this was only the second time she has done something like this and that it was an original pattern.

I tried to get close up so you could see.

It was wrapped in this beautiful paper that I am either going to frame or laminate it and use it for a table runner.

It feels like that handmade paper and the hearts almost feel flocked.  It's a big piece it has 3 rows of those hearts.

Last and by no means least the Large project.  I saw it ans almost cried it's so great!

I didn't get pictures of the sides but she had glued small mirrors all over them and on the roof there are bottle caps.  Its so beautiful!  I think my favorite things are the mermaids.  the couple in the corners make me think of me and the DH who is overseas at the moment.  This was a perfect package I can't begin to explain how lucky I was to have had you for a partner.   ;D Thanks so much this was a great swap!

I love how that skull is framed with the loteria cards. Such a great idea. I bought a bunch on ebay cause I think they're neat, so I have to figure out what to do with them. Oh, and I love that the skull is needle punched.

I received the other day from spicytaco, the queen of the swap, but was too busy playing with my stuff to post right away!
She made these gorgeous chilies modeled in the DH's feets:

And this exquisite embroidery of a sugar skull in a prettyframe. I love this, and every wall in my house is fighting over who gets to hang it:

And last but not least- a Katrina Skull lady, which I really, really wanted. She has her own , homemade little shrine to live in...

although she can come out too, and has already made some friends among my ladies

Spicytaco, thank you for a most wonderful swap- you made me beautiful things! I am totally inspired to make my kitchen a day of the dead kitchen like I always wanted!

get your wistin fingers charged up! I got a fabulous package from PaleAngelLex. This woman has amazing skills. I was away for a couple of weeks in italy and came back to this box.

first out. loads of paper marigolds, they are great, I think I might string them into a garland. The these fantastic carved stamps, I adore them, I think my favourite is the sacred heart, but I love them all, I also adore the 'textured' background of the stamps, you can see the hand carved-ness which I love, they have inspired me to start carving some stamps, i just need some themes! The stamps came in this gorgeous little draw string bag, I have folded it back so you can see the skully lining, I think this will be a case for my sunnies. (the stamps btw are quite large, the paper that they are stamped on in the picture is standard A4 which is the regular printer paper size)

fabric...I am a complete fabric tart. I get so jealous of the fabrics that are available in the US, we have nothing like that here in Ireland, so I always want fabric, these are brilliant, skulls and two colours of mexican papercut designs. (to be a big sling bag I think)

and the large item is awesome, it is an embroidered picture, with Aztec elements, I absolutely love this (the colours and directions are all significant btw) I love everything about it. The embroidery is really well done and I love the design (and the frame is perfect to!)

This is an 'action' shot of the picture, I have a tiny mexican corner in my kitchen, all from craftsters. The sugar skull painting is by DanniQuee, the heart by altered mommy and the skull from amasmamma from one of my first swaps. The little skeleton figure was also in a swap package.

Thank you so much PaleAngelLex,

Glad you like everything. I read somewhere that the string of peppers is a welcoming symbol, kinda like pineapples in Hawaii. It's called a riestra or something. (I don't quite remember.) And I'm so glad the doll make it in tack. I was worried about her.

I received from alteredmommy the other day but have had a busy weekend.

First off let me say sorry about the pics, my camera decided to hate me again.

The first thing I picked up was this awesome love shrine, I really love the heart with the nails & the colors match our living room - I plan on putting it there, my boyfriend says it is cool to - which is a lot coming from him:

Second is a lil box that has been altered with a loteria card image, a sugar skull Catrina magnet, and a wooden spoon that has nails again (I love nails in hearts!):

Inside the lil box I found bottle cap resin magnets with some neat-o images:

Next up is a cool bottle cap cross with a Guadalupe towel:

the guadalupe kitchen towel was made by the lovely DropDeadSuzie in the Shop the Swap, it went so well with the baking spoon of love ( ;)) that I had to include it....

I've been so slow in posting. Sorry bought that.

Here's the wicked package I got from jessarama.

First, some very cool post cards and what I think is a love potion.

And this really great embroidered towel. I think I'm going to frame it. It's way to nice to use as a towel.

Finally this wicked purse and doll. The purse is really nice oil cloth sorta fabric. It's lined really nicely with purple, and it has blue rhinestone buttons where the strap attaches. I love everything about it and it has replaced my 4 year old tote bag as my everyday bag. And the doll as you can see is stunning. I didn't get a great picture. I have an issue with lighting. So, let me tell you some of the details like little pearl buttons painted up the side of her boots and fish net stockings. Oh, and she has one gold tooth.

She also sent me three bracelets that I love but somehow didn't take a picture of. Two are skull beads all around, and the other has square wood beads with pictures of Jesus and the Virgin Mary and such.

Thanks so much!!

my swap partner recieved on the 9th but hasn't posted or sent out my package so I am posting what little pictures I took of my items.

here is a small clutch wallet purse that I painted with acrylic paints. I REALLY like this so cutie!

here is a shrine box painted in Mexican flag colors, I was going to modge podge some pictures on the sides but I was *and still am* in the process of moving and I have been living out of a craft box to fill my crafting needs so I made do with what I had available

Inside the box was about five crocheted tawashis *my current obsession* tucked in between the scrubbies was a DIY doggie keychain guy that I painted a skeleton frame on with a sugar skull face *no pic of those items*

simple painted cross in festive colors

sorry about the bad cell phone quality :P I think the board was 12 x 8 I cant remember the artist this is based upon but I loved the artwork and decided to make it my own. On the back I painted "made in Iowa" LOL

Some other items I threw in *not pictured* but for fun was a parrot shopping bag, sombrero, and three AMAZING luchador wrestling figurines complete with ladders clubs and a fake cast *woot for dollar tree finds!*

I hope my swap partner posts better pics soon. PEAS!!!!!
