Sylvia's Mini-Gallery
(more photos and info on her Facebook Fanpage (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sylvia-the-Hello-Kitty/107242934809?ref=nf))

6/3 - Sylvia came to work with me today, but unfortunately my camera was being... uncooperative.

However, we had time for some quick photo-ops when we got home!

Here is Sylvia meeting the "big guy," Murray, the dinosaur.

And here she is taking stock of what I've got in my cupboards.  I have a feeling I'm going to be trying some new recipes this summer with Sylvia around!

6/4 - Anyone else afraid they may bore their LV to death before you get around to doing anything fun?  Today was TERRIBLY busy at work, so we didn't have much time to do anything good.  Mostly Sylvia just watched me proof orders.

Then we came home, and my husband had made cheeseburgers and tatertots.  (We're a gourmet family, let me tell you!)

I swear we'll get out some this weekend!  LOL

Chet's Mini Gallery

Chet arrived at my house in the middle of the week only to discover that I was still at university! He only had to wait a few days before we met each other though, and my mum took good care of him in the interim.

6th June
Chet travelled up in the car to help me move back home. He made a new friend pretty quickly!

He was then kind enough to help me do some packing:

After all that hard work we had lunch at a nice mediterranean restaurant.

We then drove back to London and Chet was able to have a mini guided tour of some of the sights as we passed by them in the car! We'll definitely go back and visit properly later in the summer but he couldn't resist taking photos.

Saturday 13th June
Today we decided to take a trip to York. As you can see, Chet was pleased to finally arrive after an hour and a half car journey!

We visited the Jorvik Viking Centre where unfortunately photography was prohibited. Nevertheless, Chet enjoyed a trip in a time machine back to the time of the Vikings and was able to both see and smell(!) the way in which people lived.

After stopping for lunch in the form of ice cream we then explored York for a while. Chet was particularly impressed by the very old fashioned buildings called the shambles despite them being huge in comparison to him!

Tuesday 14th July
When we returned to London the weather was lovely for a while. Chet helped me to make fresh lemonade:

Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and we haven't been able to go out as much as we'd hoped. However, we visited the Science Museum in South Kensington today. We paid a visit to the Wallace and Gromit exhibition currently being held. Chet was not so sure about this brilliant invention!

It says: "Powdered water. For best results just add water." ;)

And I don't know what happened but on our way back I found him being held at gunpoint! :o

It was just a misunderstanding, though, and we soon made our way back home unharmed. I promise to keep a closer eye on him in the future! :D

Ameyaltzin has made it home, but Mal's whole family has the flu!! I'm sure she'll be posting pictures when she feels better, but while we wait, here's the final picture of Amey packing up to head home.

Once Piccolo has made it back home (expecting her any day!) I'll update with new pictures.

Feel better soon, Mal!!

I received a great package from my partner, bonbabbu, on saturday.  I really loved it!  and it was nice to see tuesday grace again.

the whole package, see tuesday?  she's so happy to be home!  she said that she had an excellent time, traveling with bonbabbu, but it's always nice to come home.

some cookies, yummy (YUMMY) chocolate, and some turkish tea.

a couple of volcanic rocks, which my 11 year old son soon confiscated for his own collection!

2 of my favorite pics from the scrapbook, the tree where hippocrates taught medicine.  how cool is that?  I would LOVE to see that in person.  there are so many awesome pictures in this book, bonbabbu took tuesday grace to greece and turkey.  I am so envious!

a leaf from hippocrates' tree

I loved this swap, it was so much fun, and the package was great!!

Mr Potato Head arrived on saturday

and on sunday, we went to a pool party for my niece

you may notice that he's sticking his tongue out at the lifeguard, letting them know what he thinks of the KEEP OUT

a bit later, I noticed that he'd put on his bandit eyes and was fixing to snatch a cupcake!

but by the end of the evening, he was chillin on the lifeguard stand, enjoying the sunshine and childrens' laughter.  he knows how to have fun, that's for sure ;D

on wednesday, we traveled to maggie valley up in the mountains of north carolina for our annual united methodist conference.  we're staying in a little mom and pop motel, with our minister and her family; her daddy is also a minister.  I can't tell you how much fun these people have had with mr. potato head...atleast as much as me.  and my husband!  he's taken so many pics on his blackberry and emailed them to his friends and coworkers and put them on his facebook page.  he keeps getting texts from people asking what potato head is doing now!

anyway, these are wednesday night:

he's using his mr. incredible arm to hold on to the bottle...

but he just can't do it

drunken tater

on thursday, we went to cherokee and mined for emeralds

found one!!

thursday evening found us at granny's country kitchen

freaking out about the mashed potatoes and french fries~he puts his cruella teeth in when he gets upset

the owners have all these statues on the mantle, so he wanted to go meet them; he blends in too well

Galvin's Mini Gallery--Reserved.

The promised pics.

Here are some pics from Galvin's trip.

This one is from our trip to the Nature Museum.

Galvin enjoyed his visit to a Kissing (Covered) Bridge in Rural Ontario.

One of the perks of living in the Nation's Capital is the great Canada Day Celebration.

While Galvin was here we enjoyed lots of biking.

UPDATE:My Angel Package from Wildfyre.
Thank you so much Wildfyre, I love it all so much.

Here's everything all together.

She sent all sort of local goodies (chocolate, post cards, information, and a beautiful Calender).  It's all so nice I think I want to move to Washington  ;D

She also sent some pins, a really great smelling candle melt, a pressed penny, and a Washington quarter.  I tried to get the details on the coins but couldn't manage it with the old camera I was using.

She also sent a really interesting looking local book.  I can't wait until the school term is over so I can read it.

Two new friends  ;D

Now for the fantastic album.
Check out how close Dax is to that wild cat.

Gotta love modern art.

Meeting some locals.

Lots of monuments (sorry for the blurry pic)

More beautiful wilderness.

Thanks again Wildfyre, you are an awesome angel.

PICCOLO AROUND MEXICO

a little resume of our trip around mexico

Prepare to be jealous:::::

We went to CHICHEN ITZA (mayan civilization pyramids) here she is with the most important pyramid Kukulkan which is now considered one of the new 7 wonders

Then we went to Cancun (one of the most beautiful beaches in mexico) Look at the colour of the sea!! We went snorkeling here, but the pics are in another camera.

At another beach in Campeche (with me) I know the colours of the sea aren't as amazing as in Cancun... but it's a beach!!

With some typical mexican dancers (they looked at me kind of funny when I asked them to take a picture with a stuffed animal)

and finally... we went to the Aztec Stadium to see the Mexico vs United States soccer game! Which... needless to say... we won!!!

Mr. Blue Duck Goes To Vermont :)

Well, Mr. Blue Duck arrived safely, and the first order of business was to introduce him to some of the other family members:  Here he is getting acquainted with Crystal Kitty.

He and Stella the poodle were very intrigued by Jewels' personal grooming habits... ::)

Then I showed him around the yard and he did a little tree climbing.  He's very adventurous!

He liked the flowers!  Can you see him smiling?  Orange is a good color for him.

And then it was time to do a little crafting.   :)  Oh, no, where's waldo?!  I mean where's Mr. Blue Duck?!  The crafting room is being renovated, so we have taken over the kitchen table. :P

Well, it was a busy first day, and he's settling in well.     :)

Lyle has returned home from his travels in Georgia and Puerto Rico with Jenna_Gayle!

Here he is being welcomed home by Kahlua!  He was really happy to climb out of the box :)

Jenna_Gayle found a wee travel backpack for him, one from his lobster home area of Maine! It is filled with useful travel aids, in case he ran into any troubles on his way home:

He also brought some presents for me!  This is a lovely painted feather bookmark from Puerto Rico, made by one of the Native American residents of the island (it is a real feather which has been painted and laminated - cool!)

In addition to the travel kit supplies, Lyle helped Jenna_Gayle make some homemade comfrey salve! Lyle didn't try it on himself, since he has a chitinous exoskeleton instead of skin, haha.  But he says it works wonders :)

He also helped Jenna_Gayle with some sewing, and made this cute little fabric wallet!  I will have to watch out, or he will be trying to operate the serger next!

And tastiest of all, Lyle brought back some blackberry jelly that he helped pick the berries for, along with cooking the jelly. Looks scrumptious!

Plus, there is a second package on the way with more goodies, as soon as Jenna_Gayle's computer recovers from an illness.  Thanks so much Jenna_Gayle! Lyle had a great time!

Leaflets and tickets of all the places Lottie visited.

An entertaining postcard and a Stockholm fridge magnet.

A huge bag of sweets, and some other sweets and chocolate.

Some chanterelle mushrooms, found, picked and dried by Moawk!

A cool cushion inspired by the Swedish flag. The fish is quite a funny story. Moawk ran out of ribbon so the fish (which is cute!) hides that spot. I quite like it, even though she wants me to find something different to put on there!  :D

Pippi longstocking (who apparently looks a bit like Moawk) ;D

A really cool tea infuser. Sent because usually Moawk eats lots of strawberries in the summer, but they didn't grow so well this year.

Bits of Sweden (leaves, that sort of thing). I think that's a great idea.

And finally two pages of the scrapbook.

Thanks Moawk, it looks like Lottie had an amazing time and you looked after her really well. I hope you'll feel the same about Knut!

Here is Miss Purple Cake, safely returned home from her summer visit to Singmomma, and all of her loot she brought back with her:

Lots of little souvenirs from Canada (soap, washcloth, candy! :)), some great pictures, a chunky-book style album, and a little purple suitcase with some new clothes and jewelry in it!  She just loves jewelry!  And there's even a beaded bracelet for me - I love jewelry too!

And here she is surveying her new goodies, and wearing her new tutu. :D

Thank you so much, Slingmomma!  We love it all, and thanks for being such a wonderful swap partner. :)

Edit: AND there was some maple syrup in there too, which pretty much got kidnapped and run away with before I even got to take the pictures!  We live in Vermont and you'd think my family was starved for maple syrup, jeezum crow! ::)

Mr. Blue Duck arrived home safely this week from Lmcbride with all of his goodies!

Here he is with all his local goodies! Some amazing cards, chocolate, maple candies, maple chutney, a bookmark, his scrapbook and a CD of all his pictures!

One of the first things he did was reunite with His best friend!

The edible goodies! The chocolate mix is good, a little salty but delicious!

The beautiful cards! Th first one is painted by local artist, the second is a local picture and the third has a seed packet on it that attracts Butterflies! I know butterflies mean a lot to you Lmcbride so I am saving these for a special place to plant them!

The awesome bookmark, with local photos, it is magnetic and folds in half to hold the page you are on!

His scrapbook and my fave page from it! The caption says "Ooh it looks like his head is on fire, but its not!" This one was really cute and made me laugh!

I will have some more pictures to show once I get a chance to look on the CD but otherwise everything was awesome! It really looks like he had a great time and was well taken care of!

Thanks again Lmcbride, feel free to have him visit again anytime!

Mr. Blue Duck was really the perfect houseguest - lots of fun to have around, and no trouble at all!  So good to know he made it home safe and sound.  So funny that both our little visitors brought back maple candy to their home!  Nothing like going far away only to find something that really reminds you of home. ;)  Kind of like the Wizard of Oz, eh? ;)

Chet had a fabulous trip.  Will try to post pictures very soon.

I sent a plant to Australia a couple of rounds ago, but I checked online to see if it was already a plant there. :)

Knut is so cute and his new little friend is adorable too! It's so cool that he got a little stamp in his passport too.

Jamie has returned home! He is quite jetlagged from his long trip back but he is happy to be home with all his goodies!

The decorated box he returned in:

Hello Jamie!

A group shot after everything was unpacked:

Here's the front of his scrapbook. I love the title: Little Pig, Big Adventure!

One of the pages showing Jamie having a good old drink of some German beer:

Another page with him by Queen's star at Hollywood. I'm so jealous!

He brought back a pretty cool keyring:

As well as some Las Vegas magnets (sorry about the reflections):

A great little Las Vegas sign:

Some crooked dice, guaranteed to roll a 7 or 11. On the top it says 'not for use in casinos'!

And finally my favourite souvenir, a pack of playing cards that was actually used in the MGM Grand!

Thank you so much, vamping! Jamie had a wonderful time and I love everything that he returned with!

Piccolo has arrived back from her trip to Mexico and I barely recognized my little mouse!! Mal made her this sweet dress, and her mom gave Piccolo the pretty necklace and hat. I think she's going to sit on my bookcase in her new outfit and never travel again! She just looks too cute!

Look at all the goodies I found in the package!!! Shells, a cute hat, and some wafer treats... Umm, Mal... is it okay if my cat eats those wafer things? He's addicted to stealing packing peanuts and these have the same consistency. He keeps running off with them!!

Here are even more surprises!! A mexican child's toy (which amused my husband for ages!), an amazing trinket box, what appears to be a bingo-type game (the artwork on those cards is great!), and a keychain. I think I might turn the keychain into a pendant necklace, because I like the image so much. Mal- is there some story behind the artwork? Mal is studying to be a sexologist, so she also sent a bunch of condoms, which will be passed on to my college-aged sister-in-law. She also sent a t-shirt, which somehow missed getting in the pictures

But seriously, here is the best thing!! And my picture sucks!  :'(  So, Mal- if you hav a better one, please post it. This is the Tree of Life, it's made of clay- clay is one of the biggest trades in Metepec, and the Tree of Life is one of the most common symbols sculpted. This thing is amazing! I'm going to take it in to my ceramics class on Tuesday to show it off, but after that it's going to live in a place of honor- I love it that much!!!

And here are a couple pages from Piccolo's scrapbook. I wish I could have gone with her, because she and Mal saw some amazing things, and learned so much! The scrapbook mixes pictures of my little mouse about-town and facts about Metepec and Mexico.

This was such a fun swap, and I'm glad I got Mel as a partner- she was the best!!  *HUGS*

Yey, Mr Toast is back home after his gallavanting back and forth around the world!!
And check out my first view of the hugey box of nicely wrapped goodies he brought home with him...

Thank you soooo much for everything Wildfyre, I think you quite literally sent everything but the kitchen sink ;)  Not that I'm complaining you understand!!! ;D

Big Alaska teddy bear who kept Mr Toast company on the long journey, and Alaska scrapbook

Sweeeeeeties (I'm afraid some are missing as I told Mr Loops he could have the nutty bars as I don't like nuts and he proceeded to scoff a couple straight down!!), fish breath mints, sourdough mix, raspberry tea

Book about Washington, Anchorage newspaper, and many tourist booklets and programmes and maps

Alaska postcards

Truckfest badge, beermats, badger soap, John Deere tractor keyring, lil photo flipbook, some sweet little lipbalms, and Mr Toast's Alaska passport

And here are a couple of my fave scrapbook pages ;D

And to finish..... Mr Toast, his new Alaska bear buddy, and Super Monkey 2 (and Wee Banana of course!) waving to everybody!!!!  Thanx for hosting Mr Toast Wildfyre, he had a grrrrrreat time and brought some awesome stories and souvenirs, and thanx to Kish for organising of course, it's been a brilliant swap! ;)

Lol!!!! I'm just realizing I never finished Piccolo's dresss (my sewing machine broke down and never got to fix it) and I totally forgot to finish the dress until now that I saw it in the pics!!! It has only one arm!!! LOL!!!!
I'm glad you liked everything I sent! About the Obleas (the name of the threats) I dont recommend your cat to eat those, because when they're wet, they tend to become sticky!

Woo hoo! I can finally take and post pictures again! Sorry there aren't a ton of pics, my camera is still having "issues" and I didn't want to push it.

Ms Morel arrived a while back. She had so much fun!

She brought a gorgeous calender with photo's and recipes from England :) Two pens, a bookmark, a really cool metal refrigerator magnet, a flag from Wales, a jar of lemon curd, a coaster that I adore, a key chain from Monkey World, and various sweets that aren't pictured because they didn't last very long  ;D I loved everything! Thank you so much FruityLoops!

I'm excited to hear about a round 11! Walter had so much fun in England and is itching to travel elsewhere! He just needs constant adventure, that one!

Here's Chet after arrival with all of his fabulous goodies

He brought home a new friend!

Awesome keychains, toys, and travel stickers

Neato brochures and tickets from Chet's travels

Part of Chet's scrapbook

Jenna_Gayle is having camera problems, and said it was ok for me to post one of Arti with his goodies just before he headed home:

He picked up a bunch of freebies (brochures, a make-your-own-globe from work, and scarf from Tibet), and brought some home-crafted bling (shibori scarf and poppy photo from the community gardens), plus some souvenirs from his travels, like the Chinese zodiac critters from the Hong Kong night market, Tibetan prayer flags, Boulder-made herbal teas, and cookbook from New Mexico.

His total distance traveled was approximately 26,000 miles!

kjlutz's new LV, Jadzia Dax, had quite the week!

On Thursday we took her to the enormous Cabela's store in Lacy, WA. Here she is checking out the aquarium-

Then on Saturday we went up the Olympic Peninsula to Port Townsend. There she got to see a lot of historical Victorian-era buildings-

Including Manresa Castle (which is supposed to be haunted)

We stopped at a park where she was almost eaten by a gigantic Salmon-

After that we decided to hit the library where it was a bit safer. There was an odd statue out front and Jadzia had to stop to decipher the alien language used to write the book he was guarding-

During our trip to Port Townsend she also met a dragon who almost ate her, fought off a wooden seal monster, and stopped for a couple scenic beach photo's.. but I'm saving that for the scrapbook  ;D
