Title: Baby / child felted clogs
Post by: 3RaysOfSunshine on March 07, 2009 11:43:22 PM

These pink & green clogs were made for a friend who is having a baby girl. They are the XS clogs from the Child's Felted Clog pattern by Bev Galeskas, with a couple modifications to when I did the color changes. I usually use free patterns for my knitting, but think this is definately worth the $5! Such a clever pattern. I love making these because they go fast and I have a pretty short attention span when it comes to knitting!

Here's what I did different from the pattern if you like the look of these:

I modified the color pattern in a couple ways. First, when the pattern called for a color change (pink to green) after making the sole, I kept the pink until I had completed the 2 1/2 rounds of knitting. The color change happened at the toe with the first purl row. This gave the clogs the zig zaggy detail you see in the picture. Also when the pattern called for the second color change for the cuff, I waited again until the first knit round was done. I made the color change with the second cuff row (the purl row). The gave the cuff a little detail too. Hopefully you can see from the pictures.

I also did a stripey pair for my daughter (not pictured) and one for my son in a size medium:

Those look great.  I love the shape they have and the colours you chose.
