Title: Blackout Curtains for Hot Patio Door Window
Post by: christinem on March 04, 2009 03:14:08 PM
One kitchen door/window faces West and gets very hot in the Summer. Planning ahead, I've made a curtain with blackout fabric underneath.

This is underneath, before the fabric went on.

In short, to make, cut blackout fabric to cover window.  Cut fabric same length and width plus one third.  Gather.  Attach.

Thanks I love the fabric.  It's a Michael Miller print.

The curtains look lovely Cristine and as a fact I'm too into blackout blinds (http://www.blindsuk.net/blackout.html) they seem to be the right solution not only for keeping heat away but also for peaceful daytime naps :)
