I taped the box together and put a few things in it that were in my room, but I haven't entered the basement stash . . . yet.

The first package . . . what a lovely and colorful one it is, too!  I'll be raiding the stash tonight, before I ride my pony, but after a trip to culvers (wisdom tooth pain, ya'll)

I have my bedroom where small things live, or parts of the stash depending on what I am working on, and then there's the basement where the big tubs of fabric and yarn live.  I do currently occupy my parents house or i'd have my own craft room.  If you guys think this is bad, you should see my mom.  she has a sewing room FULL of fabric in closets, cabinets and boxes, and tubs and tubs of fleece too.  She totally has more than me, but I only get to raid her stash every now and then.  Maybe she'll contribute something to this one--honestly, though, I could snag a yard or two and she'd never notice . . . until she wanted that exact piece for a project 4 years later, and i'd lose my head over it.  sigh.

psoup, I said that the last round...so I was TOTALLY in for 2 this round :)  As long as you can muster the extra 9.30 or 12.50 (using click n ship online it is .20 cheaper or so AND free DC :) ) you should send a 2nd box...of course now I am out of expendable stash...so we will see how long of a span of time goes by and if I have accumulated anymore items to stuff with.

I was glad to be able to send you fabric jloveg! I want to see some of the end products, of course!  ;D

jloveg is a genorous person - she makes dolls to give away for Christmas to charity for kids to get from Santa, and since she won't tell you that I am! I am honored to have been able to help you in my way towards that end, and proud some of that fabric will end up as dolls and doll's clothing!

(which should explain some of the pieces, LOL!)

Yep, I sent, the post man should be taking the box for me today (had to call mom to grab it, I left it at home, but she's pretty good about getting mail out for her forgetful daughter).

I RECEIVED!  From Hollistercobabe and boy oh boy was I spoiled!  I got something that I have wanted for about 4 years now and never got it ... A trailer film!  Amazing!  I got great fabric for making my kids stuff and a Pirates of the Caribbean patch that my son is going to flip over when he see it.  TONS of embroidery floss .... *squeal* some beads ...my daughter already asked if we could make something for her out of them ... they are the cutest little animal beads!  A couple zippers and the piece de la resistance ... a ton of soap making things!

Unfortunately I will not get my camera back until late next week ...I just got an email from Canon confirming they are now working on it and will have it back in my hands within 7 days ... but I am not holding my breath.

Thank you soooo much Hollistercobabe!  I am a giddy girl right now!

Blessed be!
Shade:)

There is so much great stuff being swapped!! I love the fabrics, but that clown thing scares the begeezus out of me!  :-[

*************

I received today too, from TheSaphpireMoon!!

There was no way to get everything in one photo!

Loving the fabric doll! I may try to do that this afternoon, while tyke's asleep.

A very blurry pic, but hope you can see everything:

You'll not believe, but I definitely have plans for that clothesline cotton! I can use it for drawstring bags!! (Seriously, I am excited about it!) Also, a bunch of hangtags for altering! I'm doing a craft fair in a few weeks...these will definitely come in handy!

This one shows the great daisy fabric, spongebob, a tiny bit of the crazy log cabin-like fabric, and the hardrock tshirt! There's also a plain black shirt for reconning. Yay!!

One more picture: this is my tyke at my older dd's wedding. TheSapphireMoon made the headband!

Sorry it's so small....it's cropped from a family portrait.

Thanks TSM!! What a terrific box!

QB

Yeah, that clown scared me too  :-\  Cute on the rainbow colors, but freaked me out cuz I'm NOT a clown fan...

QuiltersBlock, I'm so glad you like it all!  I felt like I had SUCH random stuff...and I'm glad some of it is perfect for some of your needs.

Your little one is sure to wanna get a hold of that dolly :)  And she looks SO adorable in the pic, thanks for sharing!

addicted2knitting should have hers shortly as well, they both went out the same day.

I am actually cutting that clown face out this weekend and it is going to be a pillow.  My daughter loves pillows and her room is full is pillows in all shapes, fabrics and styles ... it is a great tactile experience for her...she has about 35-40 pillows at the moment, I buy the stuffing in bilk of 25 pounds at a time!  Besides she likes to pile them up and climb on her bed and jump into them.

I was looking at the thread when my son walked in and he wanted to know if the spongebob fabric was mine ... when I told him no he said "Awww rats"  lmao.  I am really liking the green daisy flower print.

well - despite the horrid lighting in my house I did manage to get a group shot of my box of loot, er, um, crafty goodness!  ::)

Here it is! Loads of stuff in there! Can't believe she got all that into one small sized flat rate box!

lets see if I can list most of it without forgetting anything -

several projects for me to do hand stitching with, and three books with patterns for counted cross stitch  - I really like the horse one! My DD will snitch it when it is finished if I don't gift it to her! including some with frames and some blank bits and a pair of pre-stamped pillow cases!

shrinky dink sheets - I have never done shrinky dink, how did you know I was curious and wanted to give it a try?

pre-made artist canvas in small sizes just right for little quick projects! excellent!

some picture frames for finished projects, and a matt board

a rock polishing kit and several intriguing rocks to add to my collection, including a pamphlet about the Petoskey Stone she sent me to shine up, which is a fossilized bit left over from when MI was under an ocean!

a cute little shepard boy with a lamb (his head broke off but I think I can fix that

and the note she sent me has tigers on it so I could do something with that too if I can figure out how...  ::)

thank you so much addicted2knitting!

Ronda
Blessings!

ps - our feedback lists are already pretty colorful!  :D

I received a large flat rate box full of treasure yesterday from TheSapphireMoon!  Lots of pics (it's early morning and I don't have great light so bear with me):
Look at these fabrics!  And more:
Some of the smaller items that spilled from the Chinese take-out boxes!

Thanks, Sapphire!  I will use, gift and enjoy this bunch of treasures!

See, I hoped to make a license plate purse myself...but I have NO clue how, figured someone else could put it to use quicker and better than me!

That blue fur, had it for SO long, never used it, so again someone else can come up with something awesome for it :)

You are very welcome :)  Enjoy!

OK I'm re-posting because I posted in the thread the first time instead of here.
I have to say I LOVE everything that I got in my box. I can use almost all of it for little craft ideas that I have been wanted to do but didn't have the suff to do them!
I'll definately be doing this swap again in the future!

OK!!!! IT'S TIME! I received from Psoupdesigns the other day and I am in LOVE with the lovlies she sent my way :)

First off here is the box! I like to start with a pre-box-opening shot.

Here is the first thing I saw when I opened the box.... Delicious colors of wool felt!!!!!!!!!!!!! All colors that I don't have! THAT truly is a bonus :)

Here they are all laid out... and that's my knee, in pajamas :) tee hee

Next up, some safety yellow nylon! I have been wanting to try outdoor flags so this is great!

THen I pulled out a sheet of shiny delicousness.... It's a really nice knit with foil print on top.

Next came more colored nylon!!!! WOOHOO! What did you use this for, Psoup?

This one is new to me... It's like felt but one side is brushed so that it's really shiny and soft *hmm*

More felt. This one feels like the new ecospun felt <3

Horsehair which I use ALL the time! I was running out too! She gave me two packs :)

Then this one was a mystery... till  I opened it of course :)

It's tiny sew in tags that say "Professional Dry Cleaning Recommended"

Now for the overall LOOT SHOT!!!!

Awesome, huh? I know you're all jealous :)

Thanks psoupdesigns!!!!

That is a great package .. can never have too much wool felt (as long as you are not allergic)  and I am always in need of horsehair braid too!

Side note ... I love your rings!

Blessings,

Shade :)

I love wool felt. I am actually allergic to wool but it's so durable and bright :)

I love my rings too. I have lots more on my right hand. There needs to be a "show off your everyday jewelry" thread  ;D

I am curious what do you use horsehair braid for?

It adds stiffness to hems and crinoline without adding weight.  I use it in corsets for added stiffness to casings and that type of thing.

Indeed. I put it in Lolita skirts so they poof out a little more. It just gives the seam or hem a bit more durability and or character.

Unfortunately, I was up at 5:30 on Sat -- once I'm on my school schedule, it happens everyday whether I want it to or not!   :'(  Elizabethn's package had an attempted delivery on Sat as well, according to the USPO.  I wonder if hers showed up at 0 dark-thirty as well? :)

I have received an absolutely amazing box full of fabulous goodies from atsuko.  She spoiled me in such a huge way.  I am feeling like a heel at the moment, since my camera is still at the Canon repair shop, but I will be getting it back at the end of the week (so says Canon) and I promise to post pictures as soon as it gets here (I have the batteries fully charged and waiting).

[member]Atsuko /member] found out that I collect pewter and sent me 4 each of 3 different types of goblets AND 4 sets of salt shaker and pepper mills!  I about cried ... I was so happy.  On top of that, EVERY goblet was filled with jewelry making stuff!  There are beads of every shape, size and medium, I-pins, chain, vintage jewelry findings, and amazing amount of other stuff.  She included a couple patterns for my daughter and many other goodies.  She also included some zippers and Velcro ... and who knows what else ... there is just SO MUCH STUFF!  I am still going through it.

Thank you so much atsuko!

I promise to get pictures up ASAP from the wonderful packages I have received.  What a great example I am setting as an organizer .... EEEKKK.

****side note*** if anyone has a Canon and the LCD screen goes black (or streaky), the camera takes black or streaky pictures ... but all of the numbers and letters can be seen on the LCD ... Canon will repair this for free, even if you do not have a warranty anymore.   They got a lot of faulty sensors and they are beginning to go bad prematurely.

Blessed be!

Shade :)

I think that imafundork must have a lot of fun, LOL!

I got all kinds of great stuff in my box - and here's the pics to prove it!

anyone with this much mardi gras beads laying around has to be having a good time! LOL! these will be perfect for my daughter and her friend's to wear for her birthday! She is going to be 21 and first time in a bar so I am sure she will be goofy enough to wear all of them if her friend's don't help - but they will, LOL!

I wondered why she was sending me a chinese food box - but the kit inside it is awesome and I can't wait to give it a try!

most of a ribbon weaving kit, and more importantly - the directions so I can learn how!

and so much more!

a full set of crochet hooks which will fill in a few that were borrowed  ::)
sets of knitting needles in a variety of sizes so I no longer have the excuse not to give that a try again
stitch markers
needles, embroidery floss
beading kits - some I hadn't done yet!
wooden beads - cool ones too!
stickers
wooden bits to decorate
craft paint and spongey brushes (I like those kind  ;)  )
some pattern books I haven't had a chance to go through yet
that stiff stuff that you use for needlework that I can never remember the name of (you would think I would remember)
a pair of simple glass candle holders (maybe I will try to etch?)
some sea shells
and a gold sharpie, LOL!

I am sure I forgot to mention something, but this was a fun box, LOL! You are fun imafundork!

thanks so much for everything!

Ronda

That's only a tiny bit of the Mardi Gras beads I have! I went to New Orleans last year for Mardi Gras. I went to go to the Endymion Ball, which is where the Endymion Parade ended, so I score tons of beads there.  My suitcase weighed so much on the way home that I had to leave some beads at the airport!  ::)

Yes.  I did indeed do some stalking.   ;D  I got one for me, too, so maybe we can both learn to knit.  Have you tried that CD yet?  I didn't check it, so I don't know if it burned properly or not.

And yes.  I did fit ALL that in the box.  It required some serious careful organizing to get it all in there, though.  I was worried I wouldn't be able to close the box.

I think the metal triangles are bead trays.  For holding seed beads, etc. when you're beading.  The corners make it easier to pour the beads back into the storage containers.

I was totally spoiled by imwomn13! How she managed to get that much fabric into that postal box is beyond me! It was *packed* solid....

The light never got any better today, so just be aware that the pictures do no justice to the fabulous fabrics.

There are over 40 different fabrics (not counting the vintage squares!). It's all *yummy* too!

Yes, that's Strawberry Shortcake. And Ikea stripes on the bottom. Whoooo hooooo!

Sugar Skulls! VW bugs and vans! Betty Boop! Sesame Street!

Close up:

And a whole bag full of vintage 4x4 squares! I can't decide if they should be put together for a little quilt or used separately for applique:

imwomn13, thank you so much! What a fantastic package full of amazing fabrics! Thank you!!

I have about half a dozen more of those scary smiley sunshine transfers if anyone wants one...They're photo-lithos and not as easy to transfer as standard iron-ons; you need a good iron for them.

holy crap.  I must find myself some of that VW fabric.  It is EXACTLY what I've been looking for.  Where did you get it, imwomn13?

there is this great fabric store near me (Boston area) that sells designer fabrics at a discount (about 1 season off). http://www.sewfisticated.com/   it is also where the strawberry shortcake came from - I have 4 different fabric patterns of her. They have a great kids section.

I saw that VW fabric and bought the whole bolt....could sell you a yard or do a trade? (recently I saw on ebay the same fabric but with a blue background being sold for $5.?? a FQ --- shocking!!!) convo me if interested

Here is my fantastic stuff that I got from the wonderful craftster, Rhynox5:

These pictures just don't do it all justice.  It was too dark in the shade and too bright in the sun, grrr. :-\
Fabric, paper, really cool scissors for cutting zig-zags of all sorts, acid free pencils, double ended markers, crafty magazines, beads and beading books, rubber stamps and ink pads.

And, a sizeable box of little ceramic tiles, you can't tell at all from this picture but they are a wonderful warm golden color, and will be just perfect for a project I'm planning for my kitchen.

Rhynox5 did an amazing job.  Paisley stuff, magazines, rubber stamps, tiles....  Thank you so much Rhynox5 you are the greatest. :)

It's so much fun looking through the gallery and seeing everything that people are getting.  I should be getting my two boxes packed up this weekend and shipped on Monday. :)

I am a bit behind on getting the send/receive information updated becasue we have a sick household at the moment and I barely have the energy to spend more then 5 or so minutes at a time online.

I will attempt to update this info a bit later.

I keep joking with my DH that I must have a computer virus, since so many of my online friends are also ill!.

I am sorry for the delay or any inconvenience this is causing anyone.

Blessed be!
Shade :)

Oh, such a fabulous package I've received from SunflowerSmiles! Pictures forthcoming (I'm waiting for the family camera to return from a birthday party).

All kinds of cool stuff. One of the super-cool things about this package--and this swap in general--is the inspiration that comes from a surprise assortment of items that I didn't have any role in selecting! It's really exciting to have supplies "pick me" instead of me picking them.  ;D

Here are some makeshift awful pictures from my phone's camera; the real camera is still not back...

The whole shebang:
So much paper my head is spinning! Die cuts, 12x12 solid scrapbook paper, 8.5x11 scrapbook paper, a huge amount of various colored small squares (which will be perfect for stamping and making into little notecards), origami paper, and what I imagine was the the outcome of someone making a book-safe--a big ol' pile of book page innards--

Vintage skeins of thread, silk and dried flowers, wooden miniatures and bits...

Embroidery thread, a bunch of crewel thread, various ribbon lengths, beading cord, and die-cut papers!

Plus, not showing up well in the photos. were a bunch of small clear plastic bags and a blank mini-canvas (which is probably my favorite thing of all; I've been itching to paint a mini-canvas!)

Biiiig thanks to SunflowerSmiles for all this greatness...I will try to get better pictures!

here are the books/pamphlets/magazines that she sent me with some cool project ideas

some yarn, fabric, a whole pile of embroidery hoops :D, craft foam sheets that i've always wanted but never remember to get, plastic canvas, a bag of goodies with sewing notions, trims and zippers and such ...yum.

then there were all of these great beads, beads beads beads! :) there were ear wires and a spool of wire too and don't forget the boxes that they came in i can NEVER have enough boxes to put all my odds and ends in.

Thank you for everything missmoppet  ;D

You're quite welcome!  I love that style of hook that I sent, and the yarn is nothing fancy--which, when you're beginning, is great because it means you aren't making knots of the good stuff, lol!  I could have sent you loads more beads, too, I don't do any jewelry anymore ..  . maybe next round.  Now to flip back thru the gallery and drool  :P

Plastic canvas is one thing I think I've never played with, except maybe years and years and years ago.  But don't worry, I have plenty to keep me busy

I am always delighted to see my stuff moving on and LOVE it when it shows up in a project.  I have already used a scarf TheSapphireMoon sent me to line my felted hobo bag.  Check it out!   https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=269893.0

I totally understand! I collect some of the strangest junk in the world. I saved that wood leaf from the trash compacter at JoAnn's. It was a display that held different chirping birds. My mom saw me when I brought them home and she just rolled her eyes at me :) tee hee

I just thought it was funny that the little tins were sitting in it too. I found a whole box of those little madeliene tins at a really sweet old lady's garage sale. She got them from the bakery she worked at as a teenager.

her sister just got into jewelry so i sent an assortment of findings and bead soup, some focals and such, and it's not pictured but i also sent along last year's comprehensive fire mountain catalog i love that catalog and i just got my new one :) so i thought i'd pass on the beading love

Alright! First swap completed! Hurray for me! :D I actually got the package Monday, but was too lazy to upload pictures until yesterday. And then my Internet decided to go away for a while...Anyhoo, on to the pictures!

I have batiks now! :D There are some strips already sewn together. I just have to cut them and they're ready to quilt.

So many buttons and beads...It's going to take me a hot minute to organize these. :D

I have no clue how I'm going to use this yet, but that's half the fun right? :)

I really glad with how this swap came out. I can't wait to do another one. Thanks elizabethn for all the cool stuff. 8)

I received from Crafty McCrafterson today and the box really did explode in the post office. My mailman said that it popped open in his bin as he was sorting everything this morning and buttons fell out. They wanted him to bring the package back, because some small things had been found in the bottom of his bin, something about a teapot or teacup and he'd bring it out tomorrow.

Anyways, on to the pictures.
The Whole Lot!!!

All kinds of samples. There's upholstery fabric, veneer samples, countertop (?) samples, textured wallpaper, and tiles.

2 sets of purse handles, random papers for scrapbooking, fabric scraps, bath salts, sculpy glaze, 2 tools (eyelet setter? and ???), buttons and gift bags.

And look at all these fabric. These are the good sized pieces. That top snake like print is a dress to recon.

Everything is so awesome, I don't know where to start. Thanks SOOOO much Crafty!!!!

The clamp looking thing is spring loaded, so I'm thinking some sort of punch maybe.  I dunno though.

if it's spring loaded it's not a clamp then, LOL! It probably is some sort of a punch - maybe for putting holes in things like leather or thick fabrics before setting eyelets with the other tool. I am pretty sure that's what it's for, as I have one, but I don't remember the name of it. Having a spring loaded hole punch is better than one you use muscle to work, LOL!

Holey Baloney! I really did explode!!!! Am I the first package exploder!?

The other tool is for setting snaps like for baby clothes. It was my mom's and she really never used it b/c I was really allergic to metal snaps. the head on it turns for the different sides of the snap... if that makes sense.

Most of the samples I rescued from work...Can you believe they just throw that stuff away!!! Those veneers are real wood and some of them are rare woods too! I still have a whole set to use for jewelry or whatever.

The cherry pie lattice was left over from a Christmas dress I made :) I was a cheery Cherry Pie!

As promised here are my awesome goodies!

Lots of Fabric!  Just what I wanted!  I also squealed at the sight of the strawberry fabric since I am collecting different types to make a quilt... awesome!  I really love the red and white print and I love love love the paisley!  I also got a big bag of interfacing, always need that stuff!  Yellow buttons (woo hoo), Christmas ribbon (2 kinds), a precious flower pin (wrapped so neatly so it arrived safe and sound!  Green pebbles, speech bubble stickers, and already cut quilt blocks (yay)!

Speaking of those pre cut quilt blocks here is an upclose on them.  Awesome right?  Imagreenegg where did you ever find this fabric?  I would love to get a bunch more and make a quilt top with this.

The beginnings of my strawberry fabric collection (mostly thrift store finds), Imagreenegg's piece fits in so nicely!

Thank you for this awesome package, I really really love everything!  Thank you!  ;D

Now that my family and I are all feeling better and I have the camera back .... it is time to post pictures.

I am so sorry to both partners for it taking so long.

I will start with Hollistercocabe.

I love this package!

Let's start with the full monty (minus the beads my daughter claimed before I could say no)

here we have some zippers, embroidery floss and the little things to wrap it on, and a patch for my son .... I had to beg to get it back for the picture

some M&P soap, molds, scents and dyes and a great book for soap making.
You will also notice there is a 35mm filmstrip (Blades of Glory) ... this is something I have always wanted but never got for myself.  Oh, and the scents smell amazing!

Here is the great fabrics ... almost all have a purpose in mind.  The pink polka dots is going to be for some kind of gift for my husbands Oma ... not sure what yet, but I will know soon, since we are leaving for the Netherlands in a month.  The bats and the skulls are going in my Halloween quilt ... about 6 more small chunks of and I will have enough to start ... maybe next year?  The clown of course is going to be a pillow for my daughter ... I know I said tat before.  The shoes are going to my son .... he wants a pillow to match his sports blanket and he also wants the monster fabric, but is not sure what he wants out of it yet.

This is a great package and nearly every single thing has a home in my crafting supplies already ... I mean I know exactly what will be done with it.  Thank you so much Hollistercocabe!  I love it all!  And my son says to say thanks a whole bunch!

Blessed be!
Shade :)

This started as a personal swap, but we decided to bring it to this swap so we can share.  I got totally spoiled with this box!  We chose to do the large flat rate box and let me tell you .. atsuko knows how to pack a box!

Here is the whole lot and let me tell you ... every single chalice was filled with goodies.

check this out!  I love pewter ... and atsuko got wind that I collected it and ask if I would like a couple pieces ... These are ALL different than anything I have in my collection! AMAZING ... I have had them for almost 2 weeks now and I am still grinning ear to ear!

some patterns for my daughter .. these will come in handy, as I am making a couple new outfits for her to pack for our trip.  Some, frog closures, zippers, velcro,  and a few of the beads

a ton more jewelry making supplies and of course my daughtre *not being in the picture* ... I love kids!

there happened to be some great mother-daughter rings ... love these and so does my daughter

I am not sure where these came from or what I am going to do with them ... but the little princess and I both fell in love with them ... that is why she had to help me show them off

tons of vintage jewelry to remake ... and these are a few of my favorite pieces out of the bag

The pewter holds a place of honor in my home.

Thank you so much atsuko ... I love this package and I feel like I got the better end of the deal on this swap!

Blessings!
Shade :)

I have a batik fabric collection :)  Can be just about any print...I have koi, frogs, butterflies, symbols of various styles, general patterns, flowers....and I'm ALWAYS collecting!  I LOVE tye dyes and batiks, they RULE.

Those jobbies DO look like wax gummie worms.  Goo filled...like real worms!  LOL!

If I knew how to knit I would be totally all over yarn!  And that is GREAT box of it :)  Got a HUGE bag of yarn at the thrift to pass on in future swaps...or maybe in a future round of this swap!  I have enough to split for 2 boxes, and add in non-yarn related stuff.  There is a few needles in the bag too...I need to open it and see what they are so I can list them as part of my HAVES.  I also need to figure out the fiber content on the yarn...most of it looks like cotton to me, but could be other stuff, likely vintage too by the looks of most of the labels.

I DO NOT always find craft supplies though...I ALWAYS look though!  I have gotten pretty lucky in the last month...my other recent finds consisted of a large bag 3/4 full of zippers 1/4 full with other craft stuff, a LARGE bag of vintage patterns (I have kept half for me, and half are in a bag to swap!), 2 different bags of fabric on 2 different trips with AT LEAST 6-8yd total of different fabrics in each bag...all of these bags of stuff were either 2.99 or 3.99 for each LARGE bag...my Thrift ROCKS!

TheSaphireMoon, check out the "Rapunzel scarf" that's here on craftster.  There is a swap for it going on right now.  It looks like a really fun way to use all sorts of yarns and ribbons and you don't have to knit or anything. :)  Basically, you are braiding together like 30 long strands of yarns etc. and you get these really fabulous funky looking scarves, with lots of amazing texture.  I'm working on one now since I noticed the swap. :)

I'm sad that I don't have my knitting business anymore, but totally stoked that I'm finding these super fun ways to use up some of the truckload of yarn I have left over. :)

I am not sure exactly what they are ... but they are faceted and have a hole to nowhere in them!  They each have a hole that goes in the center on the end .. but it does come out.  I am not exactly sure what I am going to do with them, but I love them.

I got a box today from lmcbride jammed packed with yarn!  Now, this is my first time posting pics from my craftster gallery, (as thumbnails, too) so I hope I get it right.  I asked for wool and cottons in coat colors and she sent me a great assortment to match/compliment winter coats (I had an idea to make and sell hats and scarves, but I just don't know if I can get any done, what with work, studying and the 12 days of xmas swap, but I digress)

I grouped the yarn into color groups, and of course my dog Sadie had to claim the pile as her own (she loves piles of soft things, what dog wouldn't?)  She sent me some dpns, too, but they didn't make it into the pics, naughty me.

(https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=178378) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=178377) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=178376) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=178375) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=178374)

A big thanks to lmcbride for my new fancy yarn stash--now, how do I get them out of the hank shape and into balls/skein without making knots and tangles?  that happened to me with sari yarn and I am loate to mess up any of this good stuff!  oh yeah, a ball winder or the chair method . . .think i can get the dog to lend me her paws instead of a chair?

[/quote]

I gotta get another ball winder! :P
Since I'm winding the yarn off of cones and I don't have a ball winder right now, I'm winding them off with the skeining reel.  Then I tie them in four places.  So when you untwist your hank or skein you will have a big circle tied off in four places.  So first put your cirlce over the back of a kitchen chair or something, then snip your ties off, then just start winding into a ball... yes it's a bit tedious, but the chair method helps a lot in keeping down tangles.  I think I'll call my local yarn store right now and see if they can get me a ball winder - unless anyone out there has an extra they'd like to swap?

yay, I received 2 boxes today, one from jMi, and the other from Shadeweaver.  I loved them, so much!!

first, from jMi

5 orange fans~the kind we used to collect way back in my teen years, some brads, ribbons, some sweet cherry envelopes, a book -'unique handmade books', blank bookmarks, scissors, felt letter stickers, stamps, purple sharpie, stickers, black & white pictures, and an awesome craftster button!

and

various trims, a grommet tool, a buckle, hooks & eyes, some zippers, several fabrics, a figure of a fabric bolt with measuring stick limbs, and a sheet of sublime stitching transfers.  ~funny thing, the kitty in the transfer is the one I 'borrowed' from the internet to use on my tags  :o

now, from Shadeweaver:

some rose paper, an ornament kit, papier mache snowman and stars, a tealight holder sequins, mini rope garland, lanyard hooks, and some apples (for my I spy pillows)

LOTS of fabric!!!

LOTS of miniatures for my I spy pillows.

this was a great swap, and I love my spoils!!

thanks so much, jMi, and Shadeweaver ;D

So I received from nerdlover yesterday, got home late, so now here are the pics today!  What a load of great stuff!  I LOVE all the fabric, and there are several faves I have picked out :)  Thank you, nerdlover!

The whole lot of it!  There is a ziploc bag PACKED with beads n stuff, gotta spill it out and check it out...baggie of buttons, tiny pin cushion, buttons on cards, hemp, twine, raffia, LOADS of fabric!  Love the different toile prints, I may have to make something patchy with them.

My faves :)  LOVE the purple moon batik!  And the sputnik-looking blue print is the exact same that another craftster used on a little purse in round 2 of my FOCR swap and I LOVED the print, so I am SO glad to have a littie piece of it.  Also love the pink 50s looking square print.

Red elephant buttons.  It would have been too funny if they were pink elephants  :D  LOL!

Thanks again to both my partners and our wonderful organizers!  Another great supply swap wrapped up :)

Today I had a hard day and this is the wonderfulness that greeted me when I opened the door.  ACK!!  Look at all this fibery goodness.  The colors are amazing and everything is so soft and warm and yummy!!  There are fibers here that I've never had the pleasure of seeing: Alpaca!! Shetland!! Wool!! and even Silk blends!  And to top it off stuffing and even eyes!  I love the teeny weeny ones.  Loveliness!!
I had so much fun sorting them and making huge piles of fiber.  Here's a shot after I organized it all.  Yummy, no?

And a closeup of my favorite bits!!  The locks, noils, and fire star fibers!!

Thank you so much Shadeweaver!!  This package is amazing!!  Now I have no excuse not to try needle felting.  I've got more than enough goodies to last a lifetime.  And thank you for all of your help on getting started!!  You are so wonderfully sweet.  Thank you!!!  You rock!!!

I received from jloveg!

I am so excited ... I got a literally bursting box!

check this out!

the whole shebang!

My daughter claimed the bunnies ...both pieces, there is some different holiday fabrics that will be going with the appropriate WIPs, and a small piece of the flames is going on a swap project in works ...the rest is most likely for my son.

The blocks in the lower left are going to be a project that my son and I are making for my father-in-law.  My son is learning to sew ... well he does sew and he has his own machine, so jloveg has suggest I might use those blocks for him to practice with and we were looking for a project to take to Opa in the Netherlands next month ... now we have something to work on together and something Opa will love.

This is an amazing package and I will be able to add to or finish up many WIPs with this fabric!

Thank you soooo much jloveg!

Blessed Be!
Shade :)

I know, right?  I have received some REALLY great items in these past 2 rounds...and I have acquired MORE stuff to fill MORE boxes so I can get MORE 'I'm not gonna use it' stuff from others  ;D  Hope I get a slot free for Round 10 in time!  I have a LARGE Bumbo bag 3/4 full of things I have gotten at the thrift or cleaned out of my own stuff.  A Bumbo bag is basically a nylon spring-y bag, like those fold up hampers, with a zip top to keep stuff in and other stuff out.  It's about 2 1/2 feet or so tall....3/4 to the top :)

Oh my gosh, that fiber!!!
Sadly, I'm going to miss round ten but I will probably make it for round 11.  And round 12.  And round 13, 14, 15, 16........ :)

Well I had exactly one moment of clear skies/kinda good light today, so I managed to get this one shabby picture of what I received from Quilters Block. :-\  QB, if you have any more decent photos please feel free to post them...

Hopefully you can see here the super yummy pink and white netting/tulle fabric, multi-colored furry fabric, colorful furry yarns, a whole pile of seam binding/lace/spools of ribbons/zippers/assorted trims including some beaded thingys  :), the green is a spool of net ribbon stuff, a quilting magazine ("easy" quilting, which is exactly what I need) and that white section to the right is a pile of really cool cloth napkins that actually feel like cotton/linen - I think I might embroider them to make nice hankies out of them (yes I use cloth hankies - probably the last lady on earth to do so :))

Oh look my foot made it in there as well how lovely. :P  Well at least it gives you some idea of the scale.
Honestly this picture does not do justice to the lovely haul of wonderous fun stuff from Quilters Block.  I am going to have a blast using it all!

So glad you like everything! The "beaded thingys" are ties. Weird, I know, but hope they might be fun for you...maybe sew them on to a purse or something? See, I have no idea what to do with them, so hopefully you will (or send them on in the next round!)

MINE came!!!! I am so happy with everything I got!!!! There are 81 different fabrics - loads of circle fabric, little bit of corduroy (as QuiltersBlock has been keeping an eye on the fabrics I have been using lately...sooo sweet), a bit of trim, and the cutest little tin filled with different sized white buttons (LOVE it).

OK - photos  ---- then thanks....

First the box arrived - I grabbed my scissors and a glass a wine...

Then after pulling out the 81 different fabrics and sorting out the dots/circles and cord - I laid my new swag out....

look at all my circles...

Then the totally awesome button tin with buttons and trim...

My new cord...

My 2 favorites:

And close-ups of the rest of the wonderful fabrics....

Thank you sooooo much QuiltersBlock!!!!! I LOVED it all!!! Can not wait to create! I do believe that I will be making a patchwork skirt from only or mostly these fabrics (soon), which I will call QuiltersBlock in your honor!

This was fun.....peace out and happy swapping to all,
Elizabeth  ;O)

A woman on a sewing board bought a bolt of it at a thrift store in Canada. She sold three yars, and I was lucky enough to get to buy one. It's from about 7-10 years ago. Not sure of the manufacturer - nothing on the selvedge. Might be Robert Kaufmann, Michael Miller (less likely) or something like that.

I think it's occasionally on ebay.

***Organizational Note***

It appears we have a flaker!

I am tentatively looking for an angel for pinupmommy, this will be for a regular flat rate.  The following is from her questionnaire:

1) What type of crafts do you do? sewing,knitting,dollwork,beading,wirework,crochet,photography,cooking,fashion/clothing for me my daughter (2t) and dolls (blythe),resin jewelry, candlemaking, soapmaking

4) Any supplies you would like to receive? anything that has to do with anything with my crafts

I am asking here first since I had several people who asked me to keep them in mind.  If anyone feels they can fill pinupmommy's preferences and feels they can get the box out in less than a week after told to go ahead, please let me know.  I am asking now because neither of us have heard from her partner and I only can give her another week as I have to totally close this swap out before I leave on vacation.

Blessings!
Shade :)
