Title: lots of new stamps!
Post by: stacysaurus on June 23, 2008 06:10:53 PM
I've been working on these stamps for over two weeks. I still have about twenty to go.

Every night I force myself to sketch five new designs. The next day I carve all of them or none of them.

Cool! I can see they're something on spools, but what? Eraser? I'd like to see a couple close up.

That's super cool. I've always wanted to learn to carve stamps but it looks complicated.

Props to you on your diligence of 5-a-day (kind of like the food pyramid but for crafts!) ;D

They have really simple ways to get started.

I like the little stamps! Are they for anything in particular?

You've got some neat looking images there! I really like how they are simple and icon-y. How big are they? And, what do you a) carve with and b) carve on? I love your idea of mounting them on wooden spools!

I'm using Staedtler Mastercarve.

The diameter of the spool is 7/8" so all the images are smaller than that.

These are really cute, I've carved a few stamps myself.  But these are great!  Especially at the size that they are.  My mom wants to start carving stamps using the erasers, but I think these blocks would be easier and better to use!

Great job!

Cute stamps. Where did you get so many wooden spools to attach them to?

Awesome stamps! Using the spools is a great idea, I have to try that sometime.
