Title: Baby Blanket I made, but love it! (NOW WITH TUTORIAL RED ONE ONLY)
Post by: lysebab on October 18, 2006 09:29:57 AM
RED BLANKET ONLY!
This is another blanket that I finished too quick.  Not my pattern. I have that pattern somewhere. I brought it a while back. If you would like to know where to get it I will be glad to look it up.

What stitches does it use? It has a very interesting texture.
I like the color choices; it's always refreshing to see baby items in vibrant colors. :)

The first one was a shell ,I think dc and sc, I am not sure I would have to redo it to make sure am right, I did that one by sight. Worst weight yarn.

The second one I brought that pattern and it used v st, dc, hdc, I believe. I used caron baby yarn.

Tute is short of "Tutorial" which is the directions and pictures to show and explain how something is made.

These are the instructions I used.

I DIDN'T FOLLOW ANY PATTERN WHEN I MADE MINES. I MADE THIS BY LOOKING AT A FINISHED BLANKET LONG AGO. I HOPE I WROTE THIS OUT TO EVERYONES UNDERSTANDING. I WROTE THE DIRECTIONS ON WORKING WITH 4'S. THIS IS HOW I DID THE PATTERN.

Foundation ch; multiple of 4+2
(A multiple is the number of chains required for each repeated stitch. Add a specified number of ch to make  pattern. Pattern is calling for 4+2, so it would go 4, 8, 12, 16 etc.
Then add 2 chains at ending. The number of chains given after the + sign in a multiple is added only one time).

My pattern is ch 146
This is a toddler size. You can make what ever size you like. Follow instructions above.
R1
(right size); sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch. Ch 1, turn.

R2
Sc in first sc;* 3dc in next sc; sk 2sc, sc in next sc; rep from* across. Ch2 (count as 1st dc on following rows), turn.

R3
2 dc in first sc; sk  2 dc, sc in next dc;*3dc in next sc; sk  2dc, sc in next dc; rep from * to last sc; dc in last sc.ch1, turn

R4
Sc in first dc, 3dc in next sc, sk  2 dc, *sc in next dc, 3dc in next sc, sk 2dc; rep from * to turning ch-2; sc in 2nd ch of turning ch-2. ch 2 turn.

Last row (sc in ea sc and dc)

Edge
Corner 3dc, ch 1 3dc in same ch, sk 1 dc, sk 1, 3dc, ch1 3dc in same ch,  repeat acrocc pattern
Next row
Sc 3x in corner, sc in each ch, 3 sc in each ch1 sp.

What size hook did you use for the second blanket?

I'm awfully sorry to bump this very old thread, but I'm trying to make this blanket and I realise there is no repeat mentioned. Like, do you just repeat row 4 until it's the right size? Or do you repeat row 2, 3 and 4? Does anyone have a clue?

I'm at row 2 now only and anxious to continue and find out the pattern isn't right.

Thanks!
