Title: Pleasantville - Reese Witherspoon
Post by: Samanthae on October 16, 2006 05:39:52 PM
I want to be Reese Witherspoon's character from Pleasantville for Halloween but I can't seem to find a full length photo of when she's in black and white. I've searched the net up and down. Any photos would be great. Thanks :)

I assume you've seen this one (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0120789/Ss/0120789/8?path=gallery&path_key=0120789) from imdb?  It's not full length but something to go on.  And yowza!  Where did they get that scary bra?!  I hope Reese didn't put any eyes out with it!  Really, the rest of the costume isn't too hard--nipped in waist and full, below the knee skirt.

I just looked through a whole screen cap gallery of this movie and not once did they have a full length picture of her.  I haven't seen it in a while but it's like they never zoomed out of people's faces and shoulders.  Here's the link if you want to see any way: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v368/crumblingwalls/Pleasantville/?start=0 (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v368/crumblingwalls/Pleasantville/?start=0)

There's also a pic around here of a black and white 50's girl.  I can't remember if there's a whole thread just for that, but I found bits of it in a bigger thread.

I loved Pleasantville!  I think the saddle shoe, full skirt with crinoline and twin set combo would be really cute and true to the film.  I also saw some movie stills with calf length pencil skirts and a cute fitted sweater and flats, this might be easier to put together.  If you can't find saddle shoes you could probably get away with a cheap pair of knock off Keds, some cropped pants and fitted sweater or twin set...just some ideas...good luck. :)

You can find Oxford shoes  here. (http://tinyurl.com/cbw3w) Warning: From what I remember, they weren't that comfy. See if you can find those frilly socks with some padding in them.
