Title: regular jeans to skinny jeans (W/OUT the funny foldy thing)

hey y'all

i have a pair of wide-ish leg jeans that i want to turn into skinny jeans
but the last time i did that, at the point where i started sewing them in - there was like a funny fold thing
i'm not sure how to explain  ???
like if you were making a t shirt slimmer, and you didn't sew around the sleeves to make them skinnier too, there'd be a gap ..kind of..

has anyone experienced this when pegglegging their jeans?

i don't want to take them apart at the seams - because my machine doesn't really handle thick fabrics well :D

sounds like your taper is not smooth.  you have to taper on both sides of the leg or the pants will twist.
