  1. thanks so much for featuring some derby crafts! I’ve been an active skater with the Arch Rival Roller Girls in St. Louis, MO for 4 years and our league is full of crafty ladies. Our whole organization is founded on the same principles as the DIY movement & it’s great that we’re getting recognition as a force in American culture. Go check out your local roller derby league, you’ll be glad you did!

    WOO HOO for Derby!!!!

As soon as I can get some space cleared up with swaps, I’m going to be starting a Roller Derby Round 2. Hopefully REALLY SOON!

yay! thank you for posting this! as one of the official craft nerds of Garden State Roller Girls in New Jersey, i am inspired by all sorts of the projects posted on this site! crafting is even a part of my derby name & i’m planning a craft night for our girls, so thanks for showing that we’re all not rough and tumble all the time, but we totally will in a heartbeat! :0)

I love that we have two pieces features from the Naptown Roller Girls WFTDA league right here on Craftster. This weekend the NRG skaters will be at the INDIEana Handicraft Exchange which is a DIY craft fair in Indianapolis. Roller Derby really is dependent on the DIY spirit, and all of the girls are great role models for women and girls. Support your local derby squad, check them out and you’ll have a great time, I guarantee it. You might even be inspired in more ways than one.

I am so excited for the movie and I am equally happy that you posted about roller derby. I am actually doing a term paper on Baltimore, MD’s league, the Charm City Roller Girls. I may have caught the bug and might try out for next season

  6. There have also been at least 2 rounds of derby-themed swaps that didn’t show up with the tagged items. Some awesome projects get posted in swap galleries and no where else!
