The fabulous indie record label Standard Recording Co. has invited Craftster to team up for a SXSW day party! If you’ve been to SXSW or if you live in the Austin-area you know that the many SXSW day parties all over Austin are a huge part of the fun of this whole event.
Stop on by the party for some free drinks and eats, nine live bands, and fun free craft demos! Standard Recording & Craftster SXSW Day Party |
The party is free and open to the public but we’d love if you could RSVP at this page here if you think you might come.
See the demos of new Yudu™ silk-screener system!Provo Craft will be demoing their new Yudu™ personal silk-screener during the Standard / Craftster party and offering everyone a chance to leave with their own personalized silk screened t-shirt or tote bag. The Yudu™ is perfect for those who have always wanted to do screen-printing at home but were scared off by the amount of complicated equipment and time and space it involves. It’s an all in one machine with a large screen-printing area of 11″ x 14″. Provo Craft will also be giving away Yudu™ machines to a few lucky people. | ![]() |
Make your own crafts with batgirl and jungrrl from Craftster! And last but not least, Craftster’s very own batgirl and jungrrl will be at the party for some interactive crafting. Make your own 8-bit video game art coasters with a devilishly simple technique using inexpensive plastic fuse beads and an iron. You’ll be as addicted to this craft as you were to the games they pay homage to. If funky, retro jewelry is your style, you will learn how to make a fabulous stacked ring out of vintage buttons. Simple, or stacked high and glamorous, you can express your individual style with this easy but impressive craft. | ![]() |

Hope to see you Austin-area peeps and SXSW-goers there!
you know i’ll be there!
Woo hoo! The hostess with the mostest! 🙂
As I’ll be playing, I’ll definitely be there. But also: all this craftiness sounds amazing. Hell yes I want my own t-shirt!
“43 Songs For 43 US Presidencies” rocks, Christian! I heard about it when it was on NPR.
Oh, I am so there! I can’t wait to meet some more craftster types!
I’m very excited about this party because it combines my two favorite things-my husband’s record label, Standard Recording, and CRAFTSTER! I’m so glad this is happening and looking forward to meeting all the other Craftster gals!
Awesome! I can’t wait!!
Damn, I live in Philadelphia. Have fun, this sounds incredible!
Sadly nowhere near Austin, but I must have the secret of those coasters! Is there, or will there be, a tutorial posted on line??? Please?!
Hi Marsha. If you click on the pics of the coasters it will take you to the project on Craftster. Enjoy! 🙂
Can kids go? I see it says, “Open to the public,” but I just want to make sure before I drive up there with my daughter! It sounds awesome!
My husband will be at SXSW this year…wonder if I can get him to swing by the craftster party…just because?! <>
Don’t miss The Avett Brothers! They will melt your face off in the best possible way.

I think I wanna go. This sounds great. If anyone wants to drive with me from Southwest Houston, let me know. I am BlondGirl on Craftster. I’ve got a little truck that can hold 3 extra people with lots of goodies stashed in the back. (I live 10 minutes from the Meyerland shopping center.)
Anyone want to car-pool down from the DFW area??? I’m Hollistercobabe on Craftster and live in Arlington by the Parks Mall.
yay my friend told me about this! awesome ill try to stop by.
OH YEAH BABY!! I will be there!!!
Woohoo, I’m totally dragging my boyfriend to this thing! I’m super excited!
This is one of the reasons I am sad that I don’t live in Austin any more. Hmm, maybe I will try to sneak up there for a visit to my family. 🙂
Whee! I’m so excited!
ohhh how exciting!! Just went to crafter.org and saw this about AUSTIN and HECK YEAH I wanna be there!! Woo hoooo!! All the awesome arts and crafts is just one of the amenities of living in Austin, add to that all the music, and I can’t think of a better place to live. Can’t wait to see ya’ll!!
All those crafty festivities sound amazing! I wish I could go! Sadly, Austin is a little too far from San Francisco and I don’t have a car.
Amber: Yes, I believe children can attend as this will not be in a bar. Sorry- no beer for kids, however. 🙂
Hey! Whose going??? If you are going, please email me at [email protected] !!!!
I would love to go with fellow crafters 😀 I also know of some other cool events and I will be selling this weekend. Would love fellow crafters to split a booth with me maybe for sxsw?
We’ll be selling on South Congress!
So very sad I won’t be able to make it. Grr! Husband has to work. 🙁 I hope everyone has a great fun time and stays safe. Austin is the best place in the whole world!
I’ve been pretty pumped about this for a while. Only reason why I’m hitting SXSW. Hope to have a great time & meet new people!
In Texas kids are allowed in bars anyway (weird!)
I’ll be there! Really looking forward to seeing Haley Bonar!
I want to come!
Drat…I’m heading to Austin for my sister’s birthday but that’s not until June. Sounds like a lot of fun. Oh well, next year I will be moving to Austin!
This was great! You need to do it again next year, it was a great location because it wasn’t so busy!
Thanks for a good time
That free beer though…not so good (:
They YUDU is a pretty great tool! If you have not seen it yet make sure to catch that demo. It will blow your mind…. a little tricky at first but tons of fun once you get rolling with it…..
Here goes. I want to start a website but I think I need your help. I know, I need hosting but no clue what I should be looking for in a service provider. I was reading some reviews on cheap website hosting but wondering if you guys can recommend any provider from personal experience. I found two providers but they force clients to pay for 1 or 2 years in advance and I don’t really have that kind of money. thank you.
I rarely comment on blogs but yours I had to stop and say Great Blog!!
well.. it’s like I knew!
