We all know that the internet can be this instantaneous and constantly refreshed source of crafty ideas, but don’t you also like to just kick back sometimes — far away from the computer — and flip through a nice colorful magazine?

We here at Craftster are big fans of ReadyMade magazine. I’m a long-time reader myself! Magazines with truly hip and innovative DIY ideas are few and far between. ReadyMade really delivers here. The very first project in ReadyMade that grabbed my attention was this pillowcase skirt (which I believe is from way back in 2001 when ReadyMade started). Here’s the picture of my version.

Check out these projects from the last issue which show you three genius ideas for what to do with all of those cookie tins you are swimming in after the holidays…

tiered tray

ribbon dispenser

custom cookie cutters

In addition to all of the great DIY content they also have articles on art, design, music, books and more.

So, let’s get down to the point of this article, shall we? In addition to wanting to spread the word about how much we like ReadyMade, we also have a special deal to offer you! You can get an entire year of ReadyMade for only $10. Click here to find out more!

  2. MandyLikesPie says:

Couldn’t pass this up. Thanks for the cool offer! 🙂

  3. djsemira says:

    shucks only for u.s. residents…

  4. Erin says:

    Subscribed! Thanks, ReadyMade and Craftster.

  5. iciclegirl says:

$10?! Shweet! Now if we could also get a discount on Craft magazine.

  6. Karin says:

I need to get going and move to the US already!

  7. Riechan says:

Dammit ! Only U.S. residents, I want that too !!!!!

  8. Craft-matic says:

    Yay! I already ordered mine.

  9. angeltreats says:

I’m another non-US person who would love to subscribe 🙁

  10. myklia says:

Ready Made is how I discovered Craftster. 😀 It is a mutual addiction.

  11. Alexa says:

wow! I’ve always wanted to get CRAFT magazine, but it’s so expensive! Yay! This is my answer!!

  12. Tinkis says:

Well, 10 dollars is a great deal but it will be expensive if i have to move to the u.s just to get that offer :C

  13. crafty_dame says:

yeah, i was considering a US mail box, but having to pay to rent it wouldn’t save me any money!

fyi, in case any canadians were interested in subscribing, i e-mailed readymade because there’s no reference to canadian or international subscriptions anywhere on their site anymore. it’s $31.95 (US funds, i’m sure) and you have to e-mail them to subscribe.

  14. DM says:

Alexa, be warned that this deal is for ‘ReadyMade’ magazine and NOT ‘CRAFT’ magazine. I wouldn’t want you to spend ten bucks only to get a different magazine and be disappointed (even though RM is an awesome magazine, I am partial to CRAFT myself.. So I know I would be a little sad).

Anyway, this is neat. Does anyone know how long this deal is open? I don’t get paid til next week but would like to take advantage of it.

  15. Leah says:

Hi DM. It’s available for at least another month. 🙂

  16. PixieSkull says:

Yes! I LOVE ReadyMade but usually only browse through when I’m at a bookstore, don’t usually buy new books or magazines unless at great discount. ReadyMade is worth sticker price, but at $10, I’m TOTALLY in… and the pages are nicely craftable with all the pretty pictures!

  17. Kylie says:

Oh wow thats looks like 1 kool Mag!

  18. Bergman says:

I would love to get a magazine like this in the mail….. but I live in Canada. Is there any good deals on magazines that come to canada?

  19. Alicia says:

I just read on a blog yesterday that “word on the street is that Ready Made is going under” joining the wonderful craft mag graveyard.

Anyway to find out if it’s true?

  20. Leah says:

Well, I’ve read that there’s been a big shift at the magazine and they’ve moved the whole operation to the publisher’s headquarters. So big changes are afoot but I haven’t heard anything that indicates they are going away.

Also in addition to this deal we are helping them promote they also have a deal on a two-year subscription right now. So that seems to indicate they’re planning on sticking around! 🙂

  21. La Maestra says:

Just subscribed – Now I won’t feel guilty going to their site to glean the limited crafty goodness that is posted for free – what a nice deal! Thank you!

  22. Anonymous says:

Now that CRAFT magazine is no longer doing a print addition, I think I am going to subscribe to ReadyMade.

  23. Ms. T. says:

w00t! Always on the look for cool mags to try. Subscribed!

  24. Melissa says:

AWESOME! I love repurposing items and crafting! This is so me! Can’t wait to get my first issue 🙂

  25. Amy says:

I live in Canada and want an offer too! Why can’t I get it and just pay the difference of the extra shipping? It can’t be that much for just a magazine. 🙁

  26. steph says:

after i subscribed, i got a pop-up style ad that read “Get two years for 19.95!”
so much for bringing special discounts to craftsters! shoot, they’re charging us 2.5 cents more a year. ((eyeroll/giggle))
    oh well.

  27. ArianaFaNk says:

That was nice. Thank you for sharing this one.
