Simply Saints

Even though I’m not Catholic, I love religious icons and art, so I was excited to see a few saints mulling around the boards of Craftster. And not just any depictions of saints, but saints of all types.

I can’t even tell you how much I love this bright and colorful kitschy quilt featuring many saints. humboldtcherry added several charms, milagros, and fabric flowers. Truly a piece of art!

vegebrarian created this adorable St. Lucia peg doll, even including her advent wreath crown and candles.
This painting of St. Lucy, also by vegebrarian, reminds me of the famous folk artist Howard Finster’s works.
PirateColey used a wooden box to create this shrine to Saint Anthony, the patron saint of lost things.
Isn’t she a doll? St. Rose of Lima, made by mommy2six is perfect for her little niece, who was named after the saint.

There are a few more saints and shrines to be seen on Craftster. Click here to find them.

These are all wonderful. There’s something about this sort of iconography that appeals, no matter your personal beliefs. Thanks for putting together the collection :).
