Save Your Place

I have to admit that I do read a great number of books on my iPad. However, I still really enjoy reading an actual book. There’s just something about the feel of it. Plus, there’s the opportunity to have a pretty bookmark to save your place! I have a collection of bookmarks, many of which came from fellow Craftsters. I found a few others that I wouldn’t mind adding to my collection…

I’ll take two of these lovely crazy quilted bookmarks by alteredmommy. She made several sheets of colorful paper cloth, then cut them up and stitched them up to make these placeholders. Be sure to view her post to see her in progress photos.

I love the fabric choices that LovelyMiss made when she put together these pretty corner bookmarks.

craftylittlemonkey made up a bunch of paper fabric bookmarks to donate to a children’s literacy program. What a great way to encourage reading!
This bookmark by Reel Crafty Girl uses magnets to help keep it in place. Little clear hearts give weight to the ribbons.
Onyxnox inked, stamped, die cut, and stitched these textured bookmarks. So many interesting layers…just like the plot of a great book.

I still love to give books as gifts, and from now on, I’ll be including a handmade bookmark along with my gift. And for inspiration, I’ll click on the Craftster tag “bookmark“.

This is a very timely article right before back-to-school. I think I’ll make some bookmarks for the kids classmates this week.

I love making large batches of bookmarks to keep around as swap extras. Thanks for inspiring me to make a new batch soon!
