I don’t care what the calendar says, September 1st is the beginning of fall. In my neck of the woods the temperatures have taken a turn from blazing hot to brisk autumn weather. To celebrate the season I am making a giant pot of Craftylittlemonkey‘s Black Eyed Peas and Squash Soup. This dish is full of flavor! It packs a bit of a punch thanks to the jalapenos spicing it up. You can make it as hot or mild as you like. Be adventurous and try different beans and squash. This soup is also excellent for those times when you feel a cold coming on. The broth will soothe the sore throat and the spices will help clear those sinuses. Pair this soup with a thick slice bread or noodles.
