Into the Woods

My morning walk today had “autumn” written all over it. It was chilly and windy, and leaves were falling the entire time. We crunched through those that had already fallen, and my silly dog Stella was sad that she was unable to chase the many squirrels that were running around everywhere.

So when I saw this adorable knitted squirrel that Smeddley posted yesterday, it just felt appropriate to feature a few fall crafts, before we go deep into Christmas!

There are a lot of oak trees in our area, so we were definitely stepping on our share of acorns this morning. PromisedHeartbrk stitched up this tiny hoop, using unique stitches to create this acorn.
At first glance this deer appears to be real, but don’t be fooled: it’s actually a small needle-felted version by ThreeLittleCats.
I am in love with these leaf bowls by Padester. They are quilted and stitched with gorgeous fabrics, and would be beautiful displayed anywhere. The maple leaf on the left has the perfect colors for fall.

Yaqulek made a few forest friends and put them into tiny shadowboxes. In this photo, the animals hang out together before being placed in their new homes.

I am really enjoying the fall weather, and the change it brings. I just hope autumn sticks around a while and we don’t jump right into winter!
