Asheville Meetup Roundup

What happens when a group of 20+ Craftsters get together for a weekend? Creativity, craftiness, and crazy times! For one weekend, Craftsters from the US, Canada, and even Germany joined together in Asheville, NC, for a weekend of crafty fun. Gifts were exchanged, new skills were taught, and the weekend was filled with laughter. Everyone left with souvenirs, gifts, and new skills. Several classes were offered; here’s a little roundup of the classes I was lucky enough to take.
Just look at this table! Colorful supplies everywhere. Who wouldn’t be inspired with this riot of colorful supplies available?
And here’s what was made from that rainbow of supplies pictured above: beautiful embroidered rainbow beads. craftylittlemonkey taught this class, and now many of us have a new hobby!
PerfectlyBohemian helped us transform a baggie of roving into an adorable squirrel in an hour. Even those of us who never felted before came away with an awesome little squirrel.
Just look at ’em! Aren’t they the cutest? Did you know that the grey squirrel is North Carolina’s state mammal?
Mistress Jennie instructed us in how to make suncatchers and beaded bracelets. Even though I’ve made similar jewelry before, I learned about supplies and tricks that will make my bracelets much nicer in the future.

Other classes included stumpwork with sheepBlue, lattice beaded bracelets with anna.wahnsinn, spinning with LeapFeetFirst, and fabric paper making with underthemountain.

What a weekend! Next year, there’s a meetup planned for sometime in June, and it’s set to be in Hawaii! Click here for details, and start planning now!

Thank you so much to everyone who came, crafted, shared, and loved! And a special thank you to all the workshop teachers, and to Abbeeroad who organized our brewery crawl. It was an experience I’ll never forget. 🙂

It was AMAZING! Thank you to everybody who organized all the things, came from near and far, taught, learned, shared, laughed, cooked, ate and drank, ran around town, took awesome photos, and lent their energy to such a wonderful weekend. It was so great. So great. <3

What a great time! It feels like we should head to Asheville to meet up at least once a year.
