The countdown to Christmas officially starts tomorrow! (Or today, if you are in the future/Australia). An advent calendar is a fun to way to help kids (and spirited adults) anticipate the big day with a tiny treat each day of advent. Advent calendars (and candle wreaths) started in Germany in the 1800’s, but have since caught on in many parts of the world. Some are traditional and some are more funky takes on the tradition. The basic idea of a countdown calendar with compartments for tiny gifts, ornaments, or candy, is a great jumping-off point for all sorts of creative variations. Of course, Craftsters have come up with some awesome twists on the theme! Here are some highlights from our boards. You can click here to see more. Have you made an advent calendar this year?
