I've created REAL Indian corn. I didn't grow it myself but wrapped each ear in a damp paper towel to moisten the husks. I pulled part of the husks up to for the tops & divided the rest for the braids. The braids are tied off with a strong carpet thread & the headbands are colorful pieces of trim from my scrapbasket. With the large eyes hot glued on & a feather tucked into each headband, the 3 are wired together under the paper bow. It makes a festive Fall door decoration.
