I made this for an assignment that I was originally incredibly disgusted with, but I'm actually really proud of the outcome. It's a gigantic (almost 3 feet tall) fluffy dandelion made of over 150 HAND MADE pinwheels. Because of my initial disgust, I wanted to make the most cost effective project I could in the least amount of time. In total, this cost me $1.79 for a bag of hot glue sticks but it took about 18 hours to construct. It consists of an immense amount of construction paper, a piece of PVC pipe from our basement, 1 1/2 cans of black spray paint (also from the basement), and cut up styrofoam lunch trays that I used for paint pallettes.

Here it is near my desk, I suppose for scale purposes. I blurred the background a little to make the dandelion stand out.

This is a closeup of the pinwheels.

Hope you all dig it!  Grin

Awesome...... Absolutely awesome! I love the dimension that the pinwheels give the dandelion.

Wow.  That's so cool! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of project was that for?  It turned out great!

We were all assigned to do a "mini-installation" piece. Something that could be put somewhere around our school to create a sort of "environment". I put my giant dandelion between the two sinks in the chicks bathroom.

<3 glad you like it.

I love this, probably because I love dandelions. But the pinwheels? Pure genius.  Smiley
