Anyone interested in doing a craftalong based on the StrongBad emails?  Here is a pouch that I did for a friend of mine.

I have some 'the cheat' inspired crafts lined up for this summer too.  Anyone interested in joining me???

I've been a craftster lurker for quite some time now, but the notion of a Strong Bad craftalong made me finally join the ranks of active craftsters. I made a Trogdor costume for my boyfriend a few years ago...I went as a burninated peasant.  We had a blast, and any Strong Bad/Trogdor related craft is go for me. : )

Count me in!

OK.  Here is my first craft for this strongbad craftalong!!!!  Yippie!!!

I had some yellow and black felt and couldn't think of what to do with it and then I was inspired by some felt patches made by another craftster, so I came up with this...

It's a awesomely felty The Cheat patch!!!!  I can't decide where to put him though.  We have been hiding him around the house so he can suprise the other when we find him.  I was thinking of:
A.  glueing a magnet to his back and sticking him on something metal
B.  sewing him onto a black messenger bag I have  (if I did that I think I would need to make him a light switch and give him a glow stick)
C.  sewing him to the back pocket of some jeans (a little kick in the cheat?)

any suggestions?

That patch is awesome!  Cheesy All your ideas sound so great that I can't pick one. So make some more patches would be my suggestion. Wink

I made a Strongbad cake for my brother when I made the cakes at coldstone. I think that was probably the most awesome thing I ever did. I'd totally be into making plush Trogdors or something...

Great idea. I think i'll make something with Strong Sad, maybe a pillow, his colors will go well in my living room.
I just found the Homestar Runner Wiki (http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Main_Page) which has lots of images of everything Strongbad related.

JennyBear,  That wiki site is great!  I just got some shrink-y-dink (first time every) and think I could print some strongbad characters on to it.  I could put them anywhere!  Jewelry, or keychains?  mmmm.  Who wouldn't want a homestar runner hair pin?

Thanks for posting the site and I'll let you all know how the shrinkydinks turn out!

no problem black_buffalo, it's got some great images on there. oooh...homestar runner hairpin. sounds cute Smiley

I was so inspired by the craftalong idea that I did a painting this morning based on the "jumping jack contest". I'm going to go buy some fabric for my strong sad pillow now.

This is so funny.  I've been wanting to make something to go along with Stongbad's "children's book" for ages.  Maybe my own book?   Cheesy

JennyBear:  That painting is awesome!  Did you trace them or just do that free hand.  If it is free hand you are very talented!!!

taped_on_wings:  I love strongbad's childrens book!  Would you make it the same, or write your own story and pictures?

My own, probably.  I've seen some pretty weird kid's books at thrift stores.  Although I'd def. have to work in the "No two people are not on fire" bit.   Cheesy

Well a few hours ago I saw this craftalong and I though this is awesome I could make something strongbad. So here are the fruits of my labor
I free handed painted strongbad's head on a t-shirt. I just used acrylic paint with textail medium  The little strongbad head is going to be a patch for my back pack. I painted it on a piece of ungessod canvas.

this is what it will look like on my bag

And heres a picture of my cat in the dryer. Nevermind the underwear.

Great Strongbad head winter83!
I have done a few things with acrylics on shirts and it has always turned out great when I use the textile medium.  As I have washed my shirts the paint gets this great faded look.  People have asked me if my shirts were from American Eagle, cuz I guess they have faded out pictures on their shirts?
Anyway, great job on the head!

I was just recently intorduced to StrongBad. I love it! I think I might have a bit of a crush on Trogdor.

wow.  I just found this.  Rather ironic, as I spent all morning and all yesterday afternoon and night machine embroidering trogdor on a hoodie for my boyfriend's birthday.  And sadly, it is still not done.  I might go insane from it.  Oh, and I am planning on  putting "meh" across the back of it, as it's one of his favorite phrases.  But I might just give up after the front is done.

Hi there! Is this craftalong still in action? I just stumbled accross it, and think it would be great to do a Strongbad amigurumi. Actually I think I might do a few of the cast, my brothers would love them. I'll post a pic if it works out.

I just wanted to brag a bit: you know the e-mail from a while back when "james f." asks what strongbad would look like as an anime character?

yeah that was my brother.  he's awesome.

...You know, I've never even thought of h*r crafting. Shame on me. The Cheat is like, my life. And that Goblin. (Well, I did try and stencil him onto my backpack, but that failed miserably. So it doesn't count.) I'll think up something...

OK.  so I finally did the homestarrunner shrinky dinks.

I made some phone danglies.  There is strong bad and the bear holding a shark.  I did a few more, but they didn't turn out as good.  This was my first shrinky dink attempt, and I think I printed on the wrong side of the paper, cuz the ink kept coming off when I touched it.  I sprayed it with a sealer though.

Remember that email about recycling? I think it's an Easter egg, but there's this design with the Cheat and it says "Green Cheat." I always wanted to make a tote bag or something with that design.
