I have a pattern for a knitted hat but it uses this yarn that you can only get in NY or online and I'd like something more affordable...could anyone here help me kind a replacement yarn...something I could purchase at Michael's or Jo-Anna's or Wal-mart....basically cheap acrylic or part acrylic/wool...

the yarn they use is:

Stacy Charles Filitura di Crosa Alpaca Oggi,
1-3/4oz. / 50g skein; each about 82yd/ 75m

if you can post the gauge it would be helpful in finding a replacement.  the size and yardage of a skein doesn't really say anthing as far as thickness of the yarn.
