the hook holder is basically just a rectangle as long as a hook and as wide as I wanted it to be. that was easy. the hard part was sewing in the felt. I've seen other patterns for crocheted hook holders that use just the loop of SCs to hold the hooks. I wanted something a little easier to use.

my first holder started out as one of these- http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Cottage/3606/dhookholder.html
the second is a completely different crocheted back. i wanted the solid color to have more texture, so I mixed the stitches up a bit and instead of one of the magnetic closures, i just used a random button.
