a friend of mine is having a party to celebrate moving into his new house...

it's a really cool place and it has pristine white floors - so to protect them, he has decided to make it a "sock hop" and everyone has to wear socks so the floor doesn't get all messed up.

i am knitting him some socks as a present, but i also want to make something cool to wear on my own feet. the socks he is getting are going to be the first socks i have ever knitted and as i have found them quite traumatic to knit, i don't think i really want to make myself any more unless i can think of something really good. i was thinking more about customising an existing pair.

the ideas i have had so far are:

1. to get some socks and add on some studs and whatnot to give them a kind of punk theme

2. to somehow change a pair of socks and add laces etc. to make them look like a pair of trainers

3. to make them look like animals - crocodiles or spiders or something

all of these are ok ideas i think, but they would all need refining.
any thoughts or ideas anyone has would be very much appreciated!!

i've got a month - so long enough to do something quite involved.

thanks!

sock puppets?

You know, so you twiddle your toes to move the puppet's mouth?

I hope that makes sense I'm no good at explaining things X.X

Sounds like a fun party Smiley
