This pattern is fun, challenging, but totally doable.

It is my first time using: Magic Loop, Magic Cast-On (which I used instead of the Turkish Cast on, which I found too gapey) using fingering weight yarn, and my first socks for me!  I taught it all to myself in one night! You can do it!

You can buy the pattern here:
Badcaul and it is totally worth it, because I am already dreaming about my next pair.  Cool

Here is a pic of my progress so far:

Lovely ain't she? Started June 4th. She is just buzzing along!

Edit: Just realized that the first pair of knit socks I ever saw were Badcaul, on Yahaira's blog! Here is the link that inspired me all that time ago! Even the colorway is similar!!!

Sorry, I should have mentioned that! Duh!!!  Roll Eyes

1 skein of Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in Wild Cherry that a super dupah Craftster  Raindrops sent me for "My Country Doesn't Have That" swap, and US 0 (2 mm) Addi Turbos, 40" length.

Yay! I am so glad you are here! Who else is up for it? Huh? Huh?

Emms, your local knitting gansta chick  Cool

I started my Badcaul out of Socks that Rock in Pebble Beach.

I made some changes - an extra stitch between the close-together cables and I omitted row 6 (totally by mistake, but I like the way it looks).  Yay, socks!

kmptoo, I love that colorway, and the changes you made!!!

Looking good!! I just cast on my second sock last night, got distracted for a while finishing up my Isabeau Handbag, but I'm back!

I am afraid of second sock syndrome.... so I better get cracking!

Thanks!  I don't think my yarn is best for this pattern (it seems that only the bright colors get slipped and cabled, so it doesn't look very cabley), but whatever.  I stood in line forever at the dept of motor vehicles this morning, so I may have a finished sock sooner than later!
