I just got hold of a great second hand embroidery book (Golden Hands Encyclopedia of Embroidery) and it's inspired me to pick up my needle and threads and create. I tried out some new stitches with this (previously I've basically stuck to back stitch, satin stitch and cross stitch), and had fun with the design. It's a little random, but I like it!

That's really good. I love the design, really unexpected but it works.  I especially like the one from the side that's "looking" up. Smiley

Just read the blog that went with it, and I've had the same thing.  I can never sit down and paint something, I have to wait for an idea to get in my head, and then I have to paint it or it won't leave me alone.   One idea took me a year, but I still had to paint it. Then once I do...it goes away.

It looks great with all of the detail. I really like the idea behind it too. You must have some friend with a good sense of humor who would appreciate this. Could you make it a patch to put on a shopping bag?

I've got a few friends who've got the right sense of humour, so someone might end up getting this as part of a gift. A patch on a shopping bag is a good idea though!

I like this a lot, and your stiches look great.  You could do a whole series of creature plants -- A Little Shop of Horrors theme!
