My mother made these years ago when I was a wee one....

Front:

Back Tie:

I recently found a bunch of these in a box left over from a craft fair sale from
the early 80's and decided to tie one onto my "new age" dishsoap bottle.
They are cheesy but funny.  They are kinda an ode to the end of the 1950's repressed-aproned-housewive era.

Hope you like               ~M

Oh, I remember these from when I was a kid.  How fun.  My Grandma would make aprons for soap bottles and then she would also make dolls  out of bottles & doll heads.

wow, i think i'm tired. when i saw the first picture, i totally though "that's a weird model thing she has, it doesn't look like it has human proportions. and where's the dish soap?" but now i understand..you must have patience for people like me. anyways, it's cute! but my poor dish soap containers just get so..soapy. and my counter get's so cluttered up..that there's no room for cuteness like that.

Ooh, that would be so great because I hate it when the soap bottles get all soapy and weird.  I think I will make one for my hand soap bottle thing, because it totally drips all the time.  Thanks for the idea!

OMG!   i was totally thinking about these today when i remembered my "first purse." it was the bottom of a Baby Magic lotion bottle, cut off and then with holes punched in a border around the raw edge, crocheted with a lace trim and handles.

anyone ever heard of such a thing?

i was trying to think of a way to make that idea new again....

having a plastic purse with crochet or knitted edging would be cute.

You could try that with a record 45 or larger. Melt it in the oven make into the bowl we all knw & love  but also add wholes to give you something to attace the purse to.

I just made one of these after seeing the adorable one on the Super Eggplant blog. It was such a hit with friends that I have to make more, but need to do a better pattern next time.  You can see it here---> http://tworabbits.blogspot.com/2005/02/tiny-apron_02.html.
