Thank you to Stephanie Martin for the tutorial! He is SO cute I may need to make more.  The colors are the closest I had, and the eyes are glass beads.

I'm using 4 ply worsted weight. Shell is Red Heart Classic emerald, underbelly is  Bernat yellow, limbs/head is Bernat natural.

If it's for a baby, you seriously do NOT want to be using glass beads - major choking hazard.

You would do well to source out the safety eyes that are used for dolls and amigurumis.

Here's my latest project which brings back memories of my mom making these "way back when" 



I think though that the next one I make will be more like bag klynslis made. But, so far this one is holding up well considering my "little darlings" helped me cut the bags and some spots were very very thin -- but hey it IS holding up!

Yes, it is made with plastic bags... it took about 16 - 17 bags in total. A hat like this would be very interesting!

That turtle is adorable, puamelia! Embroidering the eyes is best. They last a whole lot longer that way, even if the child were old enough to not have them post a choking hazard.

Sunny - great bag! I should do that so I can get rid of most of mine. Even using them for trash can liners and to pick up dog poo hasn't decreased their number enough for my taste. I have a giant bag of bags hanging in my utility closet.

I love the plastic bag purse too. A hat made out of plastic bags? I'm not so sure about that.
