Now, I'm sure your tote is NOT making it's way to Goodwill!LOLOL

I haven't heard from my partner in quite awhile either.  She posted on the other thread that she was sending, but I haven't gotten anything.  I PM'd the organiser too and haven't heard anything yet.

So I have been officially flaked on, my first time too (*tries her best not to make any umm..."interesting" comments* heh) so I will just tell you guys what I did for my partner.  Of course I didn't get a REALLY good idea until AFTER I finished the tote I made her so...this just a discription cause I am at the library since my computer croaked (Yes, I am still bitter about it and it's almost been a month).

Now I had a hard time figuring something out for her and then this popped into my head...the idea of choas and order.  How to represent that with her specifications? (she wanted a decorated already made tote)

One side I had painted a picture in the style of Piet Mondrian. You know, that guy who did those yellow, red, blue, and white squares with those black lines between them.

The other side I did in the style of Jackson Pollock. The guy who just brushed on some paint, did some drop swirls, and droplets and such...they did a movie about him.  Took that side two days to dry and I still had to hairdryer it and send it a little wet.

See? Order and choas.  Okay, the idea was good but I think I could have picked better representation for it lol

For the inside (since it was the beginning of summer when I sent this) I did a kind of beach/relaxation theme.  I got a word search book, a sudoku book, a pack of 10 pencils that came with a couple of erasers and a sharpener, a pack of surfboard shaped playing cards (hey I am a Californian)...and I know I included a couple of other things like that but I can't remember for the life of me what it was, it was so long ago....

But that's what I sent.  I don't think I have pics of it (I lost ALL my pics off my camera recently with a memory card error *sniff* I'm still depressed about losing all 623 pics....) but I hope you guys kinda get what I sent *grin*

I think that sounds like a very cool idea!  I wish you hadn't lost the pics, I bet it looked great.

Don't feel too lonely - I haven't received yet either.  The verdict is still out on that one!LOL

Hmm, no, I haven't recieved yet either, but I know my partner, redheadmenace, did a while ago. I thought I'd post the pictures of what I sent her since she seems to be having computer problems.

Here's the tote:

I also sent her a knitted Kirsten Dunst-y hat, face crayons in honor of the World Cup and some candy.

EMAPRIL- That bag is Fablous!  Great job. I'd like to see inside if you get your camera working with you, redheadmenace. If I had that bag I'd wear it out till it was just straps and a zipper.!!

emaprile - that tote is adorable!  I love that you put the matching hearts on the outside!  Did you just cut them out of the lining fabric and applique them?

Mhm, I cut out a piece of the pattern in the fabric and sewed it on by hand. It felt so plain without it and I really love that retro pattern. Cheesy
