My husband found this vase at a local consignment shop.  When he saw it, he automatically thought of Dr. Seuss' sculpture of crazy creatures

Imagine the vase without the feathers, I forgot to take a before picture, this is more of a during picture...

Dr. Seuss and Sesame Street combined with the ugly vase, styrofoam eyes with pom pom pupils, feathers, pipe cleaners and popsicle stick accents becomes the Google-eye Tufted Warbler!

Dr. Seuss made sculptures of his creatures to look like hunting trophies, which is why I went with this look.

This is fantastic! Did you see the episode of Antiques Roadshow where someone actually had one of the originals? It was amazing. I'd love to make one someday.

This is fabulous!  I wish I could look at a vase and see something like this.  It's definitely Dr. Seuss-ish, but it also reminds me of those aliens from Sesame Street Wink

Yup, yup, yup, yup, yup. Uh-huh, uh-uh!

I think you should write a book with him as a central character... but make it less scary... ie. tell me he's not really dead, that the rest of him is hiding behind the walll biding his time because he likes to eat toupees and is waiting for someone wearing one to walk past.

And you must name him... I'm puting in a vote for Ralph, but that could be just me...

(This crazy post is really just me saying: good job)

Thanks for all the complements!  I had a lot of fun making him.  My living froom is now filled with orange feather fluff.  BTW, I think Ralph is an excellent name!

OMG that's  so funny, and cool! I am still giggling quietly as I type this. I'm on the bedroom computer, and my hubby is sleeping a few feet away.

If I had one of those, it would be hanging in our living room where everyone could see it and smile. You and your hubby make an awesome crafting team!  Cool
