I got a package from kelsorama today! She sent me some lavender buds AND some adorable eggplant shrinky-dink stitch markers!! how sweet!

Unfortunately she's on vacation but maybe one of you knows--I am afraid that the lavender might have developed mold en route, because it has been in the upper 90's here lately--it has white fuzz all over it. Is that the way lavender looks? I have never actually seen dried lavender before so I have no idea. I am not a bit bothered, the eggplant markers are way too cool for one package, and I'm sure it's the heat--or maybe it's just fine, i have no idea! I just want to know before I use it for anything.

I have a TON of stuff to take pics of for this gallery, I am buying new batteries tomorrow! I got a batch of awesome ribbon from kittykill too. Pics soon!

I grow lavender and dry it in a dehydrator.  Sometimes if it is air dried, it can develop mold--does it look like mold that happens if you leave stuff in your frig too long? ha ha--It should not smell or feel the least bit "wet"--more like dried up rice grains and a nice lt bluish tint

It is hot and humid here too--I have had to wrap anything with paint, decoupage, etc. in wax paper to prevent sticking!!

Leave the lavender out in your garage or somewhere--if it keeps growing, uh, ick, throw it out!  Blame it on the weather--now you have me worried about the dried flowers I am using on notecards...

*picks her jaw up from the floor*

Catpants sent me the most amazing package of summery goodies! She included an awesome picture frame (don't we all just adore rickrack?), a pouch for my sunglasses, two really cute barrettes, a headband that fits perfectly over my thick, unruly hair, a beautiful shell necklace and to top it all off, a Karl sticker! Who could ask for more? I was totally spoiled! Thanks so much, Catpants. You're making me enjoy summer even more!
