...At least, I think it would.

I crocheted a hat and coordinating brooch by making "yarn" from jersey loops, (which I'd never seen before and thought was an original idea until I saw it pictured on the back of the packaging, doh!).  I embellished with pink and green chenille pipe cleaners, and added some matching glitter pom-poms.  A few hours, 2 sore wrists (that yarn is hard to manipulate!), and some hot glue later, voila...

The Hat...

The hat in progress...

The Brooch...

And the completed set...

So, perhaps a tad too advent garde for everyday, but that's part of the fun. Grin

Thanks ladies!  I thought the "sweet gap" gave it a little extra something too. Cheesy

Oh my goodness...Too cute!

I'd love to see it on a real person's head, though.  Does the thickness of the jersey loops make your head look really big and puffy (not that I'm saying it would be a bad thing)?

It's definitely a bold statement.  More than the puffy factor is the heavyness factor.  That sucker must weigh at least a pound!  Still loads of fun to go grocery shopping in though!

It's tempting, isn't it?  Though I'm not sure how she'd hold up in the rain.  (Probably weighs 5lbs. when wet.) Cheesy

It makes me think of popcorn, for some reason. I like it.Very 60s.

And now I want popcorn.

Definitely 60's-esqe.

Which is weird because the hat pattern is based on a 20's style flapper cloche.  In regular yarn, it looks very 20's.

Go figure.

It makes me think of laffy taffy.  Or air heads.  I wonder if you could make a hat out of those?
