I dont think Massachusetts has Hobby Lobbys. And there are no Michaels or Wal-Marts in Boston. There in lies the issue

I am so impressed! I've been making different Nintendo characters out of fimo, but yours look just like they do in the games

So I finally found those pesky Perler beads (I finally found them at this like, really wacky handmade toy place that had like, all these crazy things and Perler beads aparently!)
I didnt realize how large these came out to be.
Me and my boy made the Moogle and we were like "hey, this is easy!" and then I did the black mage later and it took like, three pieces to make in total.
I also ended up making a pac-man and ghost. Its wicked fun!
My boyfriend is getting a little too bead happy though, he wants to make a Bahamut one (which needs like 20 different colors and shades), but I think I will let him do it. I need a break.
Tip though, dont get the assorted bucket. in total, my bucked had like 100 (out of 6000) black beads which was barely enough to make the black mage, and not to mention there is like, 8 different shades of every color and having to hand pick through 6,000-11,000 beads for a light, but not too light shade of golden yellow is NOT FUN. Definately go for the seperated packages, it would had made my night much easier!

*laughs* oh man that brings back memories of my Perler beads experience. I would obesess over whether that one was the right shade and then go nuts trying to find others like it to see if there were enough for what I wanted to do with them.
Yes. I totally agree. Go with the colour separated packs.

This is totally wonderful...I am gonna have to get some of those perler beads tomorrow...and try this. They look really good and very close to the actual pixel art.
Also to make a pattern with a grid on an a sprite image you can use Photoshop any verision I think and lay a 1x1 pixel grid over the images which is what I have done. Or you can use The GIMP to lay a grid over sprites as well. I don't know if Paint Shop Pro has this feature as I never use it.To The GIMP is a free open source graphic editor and just as powerful as Photoshop. And then you capture the screen shot of said sprite with grid and print it up.
