does anyone have any ideas where to get the big boards? :[
online maybe? im having such a hard time finding them..

morbid:I had absolutely no luck finding the square boards locally so I bought mine from Ebay. I bought 4 square 29x29 peg ones that you can lock together to make a bigger one. Cost me about $10 including shipping.

Gestalta_Sara: I don't like the rounded edges. I thought about ironing the edges like you said, but I decided to square off the round beads  by trimming with a small blade, but it's rather time consuming and difficult to make it straight, so /shrug.

i get my perler gear from koolstuff4kids (it's a site), they often do a deal for 4 of the large boards for 9.99 or something along those lines.  I actually can find boards locally sometimes in packs of two.  Ebay is good fro getting the 6000 bead single color bags or some hama beads (hama have many interesting alternate shades).

I really wish they would have made the large boards 32x32, would make life so much simpler...as for "patterns" i just find them on a sprite page or just rip them from the game myself in an emulator.

Oh no...WHY did you do that??? As if I don't have enough "I have to make that!!" projects already. My DH is a HUGE gamer, and has everything from an Atari on up to a 360...this is dangerous for me to see. *sigh*

Between these and the coaster I found, I must learn to use these beads.

Wow, I didn't realize that everyone is having a problem finding the big boards.

I have always been able to find them at AC Moore and Michaels.  $.99 per board.

Maybe you can just ask your local store to buy some.  They usually try and accommodate requests.

Those rocked my socks!  My husband plays the original Final Fantasy (far too often for my liking LOL) so I recognized the White and Black Mages right away.  I love the Kirby.  I haven't played with Perler beads since I was younger, but the crafty people on this forum never cease to amaze me when they use the beads to go beyond the standard butterfly/heart/flower designs.

I made this one ages ago.  I wanted to do the whole Simpson family, but I didn't have enough blue beads for Marge and I couldn't find a good image of Lisa that matched the others.  Anyway, here's Homer!
