I've just given these a "This Rocks". I've used to play with those beads alot, but stopped when I ran out of things to make from them. Looks like I'm going to have to whip out the iron again!

I was wondering: were these free-handed or was there a pixelated image you(or they) were working from?

Thanks for all your comments and getting me on the hot new topics list! You guys are great! Grin  Many have asked how I got the colors.... it's really simple but there's a few things you have to keep in mind...

1. Alot of patterns use black so try to look for individually sorted blacks.. they're rare but its worth it.

2. For a pattern you can use Paint Shop Pro or the new Paint.Net to zoom in to see the pixels of each color... I recommend just NES for the first few ones and then you can move up to Super Nintendo and games that are higher than 8 bit.  Here's a website that has a few mapped out pixels... but things like this are RARE so just try to imagine a grid on your zoomed up image http://www.smashboards.com/fzero/emblems.php
To find video game images simply google VIdeo game sprites or go to this website which has plenty to browse http://tsgk.captainn.net/?p=subhierarchal&t=sy&t2=ga

3. Be careful Ironing!  If you press to hard you can smooch your beads and make it look really sloppy.  AlSO! Make sure to use a piece of wax paper between the beads and your Iron or you'll get plastic everywhere AND don't burn yourself!

4.  When it comes to colors you probally won't find the EXACT one so just wing it!  Don't try doing to complex of an image or you'll end up needing several boards and going mad...

I must warn!!! This IS highly addicting.  If you want to buy supplies just go to www.perlerbeads.com  they have some examples of what other things you can do with the beads also.

THANKS AGAIN! Hope you have fun Cheesy

does anyone live in the boston area and know where to find the beads?

I looked in Pearl, the Art Store, the Artist Supply store, and like everywhere in between.

I dont want to order them online because I SOO dont like putting my number online unless its like, super important, and I kinda want the beads now.

I really dont have the opportunity to tredge out of town, is there anywhere in town that anyone knows of to get these?
