I'm sure it won't be the last time!

Everyone jokes that I have elves to do my crafting and flying monkeys to deliver my swap packages. Cheesy
I may need to woo you into a swap sometime. Cheesy

Yay! I finally located my missing camera, and I've got pictures of the things I received from yamwam on the book Cupid and Psyche (yeah... where I got my name Wink )

She seemed like she really thought into the story, and was really creative with her goodies!

I got a handpainted flip mirror which will soon be taking residence in the new purse I bought today...

A lovely "Beauty" box (with witty warning..., and two gold coins inside)

A pair of "psyche-like" earrings

(Now i KNOW that picture is horrible, but the beads are really interesting... it's almost like a clear bead with a blue flowered bead inside it! And my favourite colour too!)

And there was also a fairy tale similar to the story of Cupid and Psyche (East of the Sun and West of the Moon.... I liked it too!), a recipe for honey cakes, and a mobile, which unfortunately met its tragic tangled end en route.

Thanks so much for everything yamwam!

You're welcome! I wish I had taken pictures before I sent, especially of the mobile which I thought was extremely clever. I sure hope you can untangle it somehow! It was the crowning glory of the package. Oh, except for the painted box--that, I thought, was a rather faithful reproduction of the one in the book, on the front at least. It took me ages to decorate.

And I sent the mirror because I figured someone who uses Psyche, the most beautiful woman in the world, as her namesake must be pretty pleased with her reflection! Hehehehe.

Seriously, if anybody hasn't read this book they certainly should. M. Charlotte Craft's retelling is fairly simple, taking the original tale, which was recounted by Apuleius I think, very much down to bare bones, but the illustrations by the author's mother Kinuko Craft are to die for. The illustrator's use of colour and meticulous attention to detail are absolutely stunning.

I don't think my partner has actually received yet.  I tracked the package online and it says that a delivery notice was sent but in her most recent pm to me she said she was out of the country so I don't think she has picked up the package yet. As soon as she does, I'll post pictures.  I took some before I sent because her digital camera is dead.

Sorry Jazz!

I thought I PMed you to let you know that I received - I picked it up right before I left for the airport! I know I told the organizers that I got the package. I'm so so so sorry. I guess in the flurry of leaving (i'm still overseas) I missed a few things.

Gosh I'm sooo sorry! It was such an awesome package too. Smiley
