I'm pretty new to scrapbooking and making albums, and I want to make sure that I cover the basics.  Is it worth getting a Xyron machine?  If so, where's the best place to buy one?

I don't scrapbook, but I do have a xyron.  I bet I haven't used it in 3 years, but I know that if I didn't have it, I'd want/need it tomorrow!  I remember I got mine at wilde-ideas.

If you are in the US, shopathometv.com is closing and has all of its things on clearance.  I think I saw xyrons on the homepage.

i love my xyron. like... no im not even going to try to describe how much... but its great to be able to make most anything into a sticker... and i use it in my scrapbooking stuff all the time. i just finished making invitations for a party and i used it to make individualized stickers for all of the people invited....

i use mine TONS too, I just love it.  i do lots of card-making and some circle journal things and i use it pretty much constantly.  i sometimes think i*need* them in different sizes.

speaking of sizes, try out the small X first.  its only about $10.  if you find you are using it a lot (oh its so great what you can stick in there!  ribbon, buttons, metal doodads) make an upgrade!  plus if you have a 40% off coupon for Micheals or Joannes (if you are US that is)  you can get it for about 6 bucks.  not bad for a tool that you might use everyday!
