aliastriona_angerbo da: I love your Paris shrine! How did you do the leather? Is it actual leather or a technique? The whole thing looks genuinely antique.

Thank you Smiley  It's just lots and lots of masking tape and paint, all sealed with Mod Podge.

Here's a little shrine I made for my sister...its about 2.5 inches by 4 inches and is held shut by a cool little magnet set in the side flap.

The box is a pre-made little cardboard thing that I covered in paper & painted.

That is really lovely. It almost makes me sad to see it, for some reason. I'm not completely sure why....it is absolutely wonderful, though.

Thanks, everyone! It has a very nostalgic feeling, so it make me feel a bit sad, too.

Might I enlist the assistance of you lovely people?  I got randomly inspired (by a couple of peacock feathers that have been sitting around for a year) to make a very primitive art doll...figured it would make an interesting centrepiece for a shrine...

But it has gone off in its own direction.  It's not talking to me anymore Tongue

What do you get from this?

Peacocks?  Tribal?  Mardi Gras?  ...hopelessness? Cheesy

Directions?  Vibes?  Opinions?

It's not what was in my head, but I still like it.  Gonna pick up some more trinkets for its "hair" while I'm out shopping later...maybe some copper wire...

It looks great! Very earthy/tribal I think, it would look great in an earthy shrine, maybe along the nature theme?

I have a peacock feather that's been poking out of a skellington in my lounge for about 2 years that is waiting for inspiration too.
